Ravenclaw Common Room is located one of the western towers of Hogwarts, at the top of a spiral staircase winding up from the fifth floor.
Upon speaking the password to the Eagle's head, you enter into a circular room, with blue and bronze silk wall hangings. There is a circular, midnight blue carpet with bronze stars on it, mirroring the domed ceiling, also decorated as such. It is a breathtaking room. The arched, leaded windows provide a wonderful view of the surrounding lands. At night, the room is lit by wall sconces, which magically spark when the sun goes down. There are also enchanted oil lamps on every table, and the giant fireplace on the north wall casts even more light into the room. It seems like a cross between an observatory and a library, and is, on the whole, a very comfortable place for Ravenclaws to be.
There are bookshelves everywhere, and comfortable blue chairs, couches, and a few tables scattered about. Opposite the entrance into the tower is another door, which leads up to the dormitories. Beside this entrance is the white marble statue of Rowena Ravenclaw.
Up the staircase, it branches into two corridors: Boys to the left, Girls to the right. There is a dormitory for every year, with the seventh years closest to the staircase.
Dormitories are also decorated with the Ravenclaw colours. There are large, four-poster beds with blue velvet hangings, and leaded windows with cushioned sills. Every student keeps their trunk at the foot of their bed, and has a small cupboard across from it for any personal items.
There are washrooms located at either end of the corridor, and these are enchanted to know your gender so don't even think about sneaking in.
