Neville levitated Isabelle, and motioned for Lilianne to follow him. He started out of the room, leaving Zea to help Nicholas.

Lilianne looked torn for a second, as if as though she wanted to keep by her sister, she didn't want to let go of Nicholas.
She finally let go of Nicholas' cloak, grabbing his hand and pressing it for a second, before she left with Neville, now holding on to his own cloak as if her life depended on it.

Nicholas squeezed back gently, giving Lilianne a quick glance. ''Watch over her. Thank you.'' he said quickly.
Finally unburdened from the unconcious Ravenclaw girl, he fixed his attention on Althea and levitated her. He tried to push it out of his mind, but fear had embedded itself deeply and began to surface, weakening his legs. He quickly brushed back a few tears with the sleeve of his coat as he continued.
''Let's go.'' he said.
One of the knights, still struggling with their quarry, shouted to Nicholas.
''Orders, sir?''
Nicholas barked the order out angrily.
''Eliminate with extreme prejudice!''
With Zea's aid, he began to move his wife to the Hospital Wing before it would be too late, while he left the knights to their bloody work.

Elsbeth watched in awe as the battle played out, spewing spells where needed and ushering students out of the room when there was an opening. Eventually, as things calmed down, she began to ake her way to the Hospital Wing, to check on all the injured witches and wizards.

Donall had hidden away behind the overturned staff table, knowing full well that he was not a strong enough dueler to fight a grown monster. However, he didn;t follow when the students were ushered out, and refused to leave.
He peered around the table, and frantically looked around for something. He saw Dr. Lannsman injured, and a few other students as well, and then he spotted what he was looking for. Sir Nicholas Lannsman.
The students were taken out of the Hall, but the couple still remained on their way to the exit. He walked over, stepping around the huge bodies of the creatures to get to them. Charmed suits of armor were bringing down the last of the monsters, and Don made sure to stay clear of them.
"Err... Professor, sir?" he said, in a shaky voice. "Might I be of any assistance?" His eyes flashed momentarily with worry; he truly did care for the man, despite his attempts at ignoring and disliking him the past month or so.

His attention was on his wife, his worry, his fear, his heart racing in his throat. It wasn't until he heard Donall that his frustration and anger boiled up again. He fixed Donall with a vicious glare.
"I have no time for cowards. An eleven year old girl frightened out of her wits knew more about what she wanted to do with herself in this situation than you have had with the past month. Until I know which Donall I'm talk to, or which is here to stay, I will not speak to both. Now get out of my sight, you fine picture of Daddy's favorite Slytherin. Why don't you ask Orynn where you can be of more assistance. He should be slithering about somewhere on your level."
He continued on, turning his gaze to Althea. Again, he wiped tears from his shoulders as a sob began to grow in his throat.
Please don't take her away from me...

Donall stared, dumbfounded, the knight's words hitting home.
He didn't try to follow, but watched them a bit. Tears began to form in his eyes, but he hurriedly blinked them away. Seconds later, they fell freely but silently.
He walked around and found a couple of students who had not yet fled the scene. He ushered them to the exit, but not in a very nice way. He merely grabbed and pushed them in the direction of the door, but not as harshly as he would normally have done. He didn't say a word. Focusing on this task, he ignored the feelings running through him, and then followed the students out the exit with one last look back at Sir Lannsman and his wife.

Arcturus stood in the chaos. His wand arm was still out, still pointing vaguely where the monstrous beast had been. He was looking at the beast as it was being hacked to pieces by the knights.
It's just an animal . . . just a poor stupid animal . . .
He walked slowly, trance-like, to the knights.
Stop it, stop it, make it stop . . . stop it, STOP IT . . .
"STOP IT!!" Arcturus yelled at the bodiless knights. "It's just an animal! It just wants to leave! It's just an animal! Let it go, for God's sake!"
Arcturus wasn't crying, but the only reason he knew was because he was concentrating hard.
I'm not crying.
I'm still not crying . . .
The poor stupid animal . . .
He was crying.

Zea watched, shocked, as Nicholas gave the Slytherin student a thorough reaming.
"Whoa, whoa, it's not the time for nonsense. Let's concentrate on getting Althea the bloody hell out of here before she gets worse," she bent, and cast the charm on her.
She turned her head as Arcturus cried out.
"Arcturus! Come on. Let them do their job. We don't need to see it. We're going to get Doctor Lansmann to the hospital wing, and then you're going to come to my office, okay?"

Daviv shut his book, annoyed. Once again, he missed dinner. Why couldn't anyone at least send him a note reminding him? He didn't think it was too much to ask, but he wasn't a fan of a lot fo commotion anyway. Those students were getting a bit rowdy today, as it may seem. From the library, he vaguely heard things. That was a bad sign.
Quickly walking into the hall, passing some students who seemed oddly worked up, he rose an eyebrow at this place, and quickly whipped his wand out.
"What... In the bloody hell... Happened here?" He knew he should've came down here earlier, but no. Of course he was the latest. He normally was for things. Sighing, he walked toward Zea, the first staff member he saw. He didn't feel a need to once again ask his question...

Last chance.
It didn't have long to live.
Cold fangs of steel mercilessly hacked into it's flesh, spilling its precious lifeblood. It wanted to see one of the humans suffer like it did. One of them was so tantalizingly close...so close...
One of the knights chopped down with an axe and with his other hand, went to push the young Ravenclaw back.
"Stand aside, young man!" the deep voice said aloud, trying to make sure that the student would be safe.
It was all the creature needed. With one last defiant cry, it heaved forward with strength borne of desperation, rage and fear. With a mighty swing of its paw it knocked aside the knights leg, shearing off the boot from the knee. The suit crumpled down to the ground. The creature, eyes wide, jaws open and drooling both spit and blood, madly dragged itself towards Arcturus.
One of these human wretches would die tonight along with it.
It wanted this human...

Zea looked up when she heard Daviv yell.
"Be happy you missed the worst of it. Elsbeth is in the hospital wing, could you please go there? She'll probably send you to go check on the students... we need everyone we can get right now. Here, cast a levitation charm on Althea and help Nicholas, I'll finish up here. Be real quick, though... I'm worried about her."
She gently lowered Althea, stood, and glanced around.
And saw the last creature bursting through the throng of knights.
Heading for Arcturus.
Once again, she cursed. Loudly.
"Oh no freaking WAY," she yelled, and leapt across room. "Arcturus, DUCK!"
She unfurled her whip, ready to strike.

Daviv nodded, a bit weirded out, but snapped out of it right as he saw Althea. Quickly, he casted the charm, and nodded at Nicholas. Every step Nicholas took, Daviv took as well. He knew of the urgency, somewhat. And common sense told him to move quick, therefore he did.

Kel, who had quietly tended to more hysterical students until the order to leave had come, and then left orderly with all the other students, headed back to her common room with the group of her shocked, crying, hysterical and worried fellow Hufflepuffs. She walked along fairly quickly, supporting a petite eleven-year-old she had stood next to in the giant turtle the escaping students had made. The girl, whose name was Dianne, was still in shock, with tears pouring unheeded down her face. Kel was staunching the flow with her sopping wet handkerchief, but the girl didn't seem likely to stop anytime soon.
Kel wondered when she could get into bed. The strain of even just staying calm when all she could hear and see where crying voices and panicked students, many of whom were older than she had played havoc with her nerves. She wanted to crawl into her warm bed and pretend nothing bad happened, that she had decidedly not seen Nick lose it at the Slytherin who had yelled at her in the courtyard when she looked over her shoulder, and, most of all, that Hogwarts had not just been invaded by big panthers with tentacles and claws. Definitely not.

Arcturus had half turned to leave the poor creature at Zea's insistence when a knight started pushing him away. He half-heartedly shrugged off the knight when it suddenly disappeared. He heard Zea yell at him, turned minutely, enough to see the beast out of the corner of his eye, almost right on top of him.
Part of his brain, the unattached part, the part that would look at a huge boulder falling out of the sky right at him and wonder: "Is that an igneous or sedimentary rock? The part that would look into the mouth of a monstrous shark and note that it had a piece of seaweed in it's teeth. Well, what it was saying now was:
Yep, that's definitely just an animal. No gratitude at all. Typical.
Then his body responded. Not that that meant much. His adrenaline was done, his body was exhausted, and he did the only thing he had the energy to do.
He hit the ground like it had personally offended him.
