Kel listened, entranced with the wonderful, joyful song. She sketched as she listened, just letting her feelings out on the paper.
"Oh, yes! It's really catchy and cheerful!" Kel told him when he asked. She glanced down at her paper. She had drawn a large rosebush with fairies holding a party around it. They were eating cake out of acorn caps while sitting at mushroom tables, wearing the rose petals as hula skirts.

"Thanks!" Stevie said, still playing. He was saying 'thanks' a lot. Though, the one thing he regretted, was forgetting to eat breakfast. That was not good at all. Hopefully the CASTLE will have food. Or a trolley. He had been on airplanes before, something like that, he supposed. That would be awesome.
He turned his head to the window, and they were moving. He didn't even notice it. Stevie was hoping he could see when they take off, but meh. You can't always get what you want.
As he finished the song with a simply chord, he grinned. He loved that song, too. His prairie dog, though, hadn't stopped chirping. Now, it was making up its own tune. Stevie blinked, and started to play along. Right now, he let his hands, and his prairie dog, do the work.
"So, whatcha drawin'?" Stevie asked, curious.

Kel sighed as the last chord thrummed through the trolley.
She smiled as she heard the little prairie dog keep chirping, then her eyes widened as Stevie stated playing along with it. She thought it was amazing how he could just start playing anything, and make it sound good, too!
In answer to his question, she picked up the book and showed the picture to him without hesitating.

Stevie looked at it, she was pretty good at drawing.
"You're good at drawing!" He always liked to voice his opinions. But, in all reality, she WAS a good artist. Stevie was a horrible artist, the best person he could draw is a stick figure. And that was still a bit shaky.
Stevie stopped playing once his prairie dog stopped chirping. He finally noticed another person here. He stares at her, wide eyed. Though, he always looked wide eyed. He took a couple hesitant steps out, and tilted its head, standing on its hind legs.
"You can pet him, just don't do it really suddenly. Or hard. And be careful, he likes crawling up people's arms to sit on their shoulders." Stevie blinked, and watched the scene play out. This was either going to end in something good, or a disaster. Hopefully it wouldn't be a disaster; this girl seemed pretty nice.

Kel beamed at the compliment. "Thank you! I just like to sketch my feelings." She was a bit sad when the meandering song ended, but she smiled at the prairie dog that was staring at her.
"Oh, okay. What's his name? Or is it a girl?" Kel said in reply, slowly stretching out her fingers for the small animal to sniff.

"Floyd, he's a boy." He grinned as the prairie dog sniffed at her fingers for a moment, then pausing, before jumping on her arm and scurrying up to her shoulder, resting there for a bit before hopping off, back to a confused Stevie.
"I think he likes you. Pretty sure." He nodded, blinking. As the prairie dog turned to watch Keladry, Stevie struck a note, which was followed by a chirp of the same tone. Stevie thought a bit... Then started playing another song that is comprised of different single notes, which his prairie dog was chirping along with. This, again, was happy, but more complicated than the last song.

Kel grinned happily at the prairie dog, still a little startled that it had climbed up on her without a second thought like that. "Floyd. What a perfect name for the little fellow!" Kel said, half to herself, half to Stevie. She watched Stevie's fingers as they held and released and strummed on the guitar's strings, and marveled at the wonderful music they were eliciting from the instrument.
Without taking her eyes off Stevie's fingers, she started drawing again, this time a woman dancing, her arms up in the air, graceful fingers seeming to be waving, eyes closed, with a blissful look on her face. Her dress spun around her, brushing up pine needles that were scattered beneath her feet, her long hair swishing behind her, crowned by beautiful flowers.

Stevie nodded. "I think so." He was still looking down, though, this was a complicated bit and he was not the best guitarist. Though, he wasn't messing up. That was definitely something to be happy about.
The prairie dog kept chirping, now parading about the table. He wasn't exactly a shy animal...

((That was kinda short))
Kel smiled again at the prairie dog, then remembered her own pet. The half-Kneazle had prowled around, sniffing at everything, then hopped up on the couch-like seat Kel was laying on, curling up next to her human.
Kel reached down and petted her while introducing her to the boy and his Familiar. "I forgot! This is my half-Kneazle, Tiria. She can be a bit touchy at first, but once she's checked you out and made sure you're to be trusted, she's a real kitten."

(I know, sorry. >>)
Stevie nodded as she said this. "Half Kneazle? Do you know what the other half is?" Stevie tilted his head slightly and looked at it, smiling. "I like her!" He said. Stevie DID think this Kneazle... Half Kneazle... Was probably a good companion. Of course, he still liked his prairie dog better, but he was his own pet. And he was pocket sized.

"Well, I believe it's cat, if that's what you mean," Kel told him, laughing. "I don't know what kind of cat, though. I actually found her in a river as a kitten, so I don't even know where she came from, though she could tell me if she wanted, since she's half a magical creature." Kel elaborated.

"...Oh, awesome! She can talk?" His prairie dog perked at this, and hopped back onto the table, veery slowly approaching the half Kneazle. It's large black eyes were wide in curiosity, and it looked as if it was just floating along the table. Stevie blinked, and watched this, attention caught.

Kel watched the prairie dog, too, answering Stevie without taking her eyes off the curious little creature. "No, she can't talk. But since she's my Familiar, and I rescued her and all, we can talk through our heads. Like, if she thinks I'm in trouble, she can ask me, and I can answer. It's like telepathy, I guess you could say. But it's different. Magical." Kel didn't know if that made a lot of sense, and she took her eyes off the advancing animal to look at Stevie.

"...Ooooh." Stevie nodded with intrigue. He understood this, surprisingly. He picked up quickly on some things, and others, he didn't. He guessed he was lucky that way.
Meanwhile, the prairie dog was slowly advancing its way to the Kneazle, and eventually got fairly close. It let out a soft chirp-bark, and tilted its head, mainly in greeting. Now, the question: will they be nice to eachother?

Kel was glad that Stevie seemed to understand. Since there weren't a lot of people she could explain to, she didn't have a lot of experience, and when she had tried before, the slightly snobby Pureblood she was explaining it to just thought that they talked to each other. But it was more than that. She and Tiria actually shared thoughts. Kel had been slightly surprised that Tiria had such interesting thoughts, since she had thought that animals just thought about food and stuff, though she supposed it was different with magical ones.
Kel watched the prairie dog come right up close to Tiria. The purple eyed cat raised her coal-black head and sniffed the prairie dog once, then stared it straight in it's little eyes.
