The wand sailed through the air and passed Donall's grasp. Unfortunately, Donall brought himself too close to Anthony, who took the opportunity to leap forward snatch Donall's own wand.
"Petrificus totalus!"
The spell flew forward and, luckily, struck one of the birds instead of Donall. It fell to the floor, stiff as a board. Anthony's own wand clattered to the floor a few feet away. Anthony stared dumbstruck at the downed bird, seeming angry and shocked at the sheer luck Donall had.

Dónall mentally cursed at having missed Anthony's wand and losing his own, but he still kept a level head. He scrambled for Anthony's while he was distracted by the bird he had hit instead of Dónall.
It was no or never. "Expelliarmus, Accio wand!" Dónall's wand flew from Anthony's hand and into his own.

Anthony watched as the wand he held slipped out of his grasp. With wild eyed panic, he then tried to run forwad to snatch it.
He never really realized he wouldn't snag it before Donall did.

"Petrificus Totalus!" he cried. As the spell hit the shocked boy, he went stiff as a board and toppled over.
Dónall walked over slowly, and crouched down to speak to Anthony. "Now that you have nowhere to go at the moment, you have to listen."
"You and the rest of the goons have no right to treat me the way you have been. Just because I gained a conscience and know what I want out of life doesn't give you grounds to attack me or my beliefs. You and I both know the pressure our families put on us; why should my way of handling it be any less right than way you do? I don't need to be an arse like you."
He stood up again, and looked down at the unmoving body of his opponent. Frowning slightly, he said his last words. "Grow up, Anthony."
With that, he walked back to his side of the floor, and awaited instruction from Sir Lannsmann while looking down at his feet in nervousness and a small bit of embarrassment.

Nicholas walked through the barrier, sheathing his sword as he walked in smiling. After casting a relaxing charm on Anthony and helping him up, sharing a few words with him before Nicholas walked over towards Donall.
"Well played Donall. You should be proud of yourself." he said as he seized Donall's wrist gently and raised his arm in the air.
"And the winner of this duel is Donall Kennedy of Slytherin!"
Nicholas looked to Donall as students began to applaud and cheer Donall. "Shake his hand. I don't think you'll have to worry about him too much anymore." he said quietly enough for Donall to hear as he motioned towards Anthony with his head.

"Thank you, Sir." he whispered back. "Your advice really helped."
He then walked over to Anthony again, to shake his hand, silently. Anthony merely looked at it for a moment, then without any strength behind it, shook Dónall's hand. He didn't look Don in the eyes, though. "You can't just turn your back on your House, Kennedy. But you've proven yourself today..."
Dónall nodded, not knowing what else to say. While that went on, the audience began to disperse. The excitement for the day was over.

The Ravenclaws were cheering loudly at Dónall. Even Isabelle was clapping politely, though her friends looked quite more excited.
"That was amazing! Did you see how he confunded him while hanging upside down?"
"And that wand switch in the end, that was quite a sigh!"
"Yeah, I'll admit he's got some skills... This wasn't too much of a waste of time..."
