Before Fay could answer Arcturus' question, he asked her another one, more interesting than the first. She answered in honesty, "Well, I can be sneaky if I have to be... Let's give it a try."

Kel saw what Stevie was doing, and kept firing 'balls at and over the large rock/circular mound of snow that the two older students were scheming inside as she scooted over to help him in between shots.
"What's the plan?" Kel asked in a low voice. "If, indeed, there is one," she added as an afterthought. "Do we just sit here and wait for them to come up and attack, or should we launch our own offensive?"
{OOC: Hee hee! If we arrange it right, they'll both arrive at each others' forts at the same time and no one will be there!}

"Go draw attention to yourself, I have a plan..." He said, and continued to build up his fort, adding a large, square, piece of ice he found to the inside, building up the outside.

Kel, confused but not arguing, grabbed a few snowballs and started down the hill, not drawing too much attention to herself, but making sure that she wasn't being so sneaky that Fay and Arcturus didn't actually notice her. She didn't want it to be obvious that she was being a decoy, but she didn't want to be invisible, either.

"Excellent! K, it'll basically go like this. I'm going to charm a couple of snowballs to fly off the wall every now and then, hopefully looking like you're still here. It's a pretty hard charm, so let's not rely too heavily on that working, but if it does, hey! Anyway, I'm going to draw their attention, and once, and ONLY once they are completely focused on me, then you sneak out. Take a couple of snowballs, but travel light. Sneak behind their fort a ways, then attack. Hopefully we can totally own them!"
Arcturus grabbed a good 15 snowballs, put them in his shirt and stood up. He looked for the best way to cause a lot of chaos. And there it was. Oh, almost too easy. Kel, attempting to sneak through the forest. Arcturus grinned wolfishly. Bingo . . .
He leaned back down into the fort.
"OK, I'm going to do the charm now. Then I'm going to cause some hoopla. It should be easy to tell when to go."
He squinted his eyes, pointed his wand at a large portion of the snow wall, and uttered an incantation he'd read in a book, but not practiced much. It was a timed Banishing Charm. He wasn't sure how it would work. He tried to set it for random times, but wasn't dead sure if it worked. Then he set out of the base at a dead sprint towards the position of Kel. He fired a snowball at extreme range. Miss. No biggie, he still had 14 snowballs. There were several low bushes in his way, which he either jumped over or crashed through. Yelling like a banshee, he fired another snowball at the stunned firstie. Miss, but closer. She wasn't going to be stunned by his insanity for much longer, and she could throw pretty hard. He braced himself for some incoming snow. Still, he was pretty sure he could take her if he just kept up his insane charge. He had more snowballs, and the point wasn't to not get hit. He just hoped Fay had the sense to wait till the Gryffie firstie was distracted too.

Fay was excited that the snowball fight seemed to be heating up and she could get in on the action. She grabbed a few snowballs, and anxiously awaited the first year Gryffindor's distractedness, all the while planning and scheming in her mind of how her sneak attack would go.
{I can't really do anything right now. Saying Stevie's distracted or whatnot would be Godplaying or whatever it's called...}

Kel blasted Arcturus in his wildly yelling face, then ducked behind a bush, planning this out. Since they had obviously noticed her and decided to do something about it, she decided to make it as big and flashy as possible to give Stevie the distraction he needed. She grabbed and handful of snow and tossed it at Arcturus, who was still charging for her, but since it wasn't packed, it made a miniature blizzard: just what Kel wanted. She tossed a few more handfuls of snow up into the slight gust of wind she felt on her flushed cheeks and ducked behind a tree, then slowly eased herself around it until she could peek around the cylindrical trunk to see the Ravenclaw.

Stevie didn't see that other person who joined with that person who originally was fighting with Kel, so he guessed she was hiding somewhere, but it didn't matter. Putting his arms under the ice, he lifted upwards, making a snow-fort-pie type thing. Walking up to Arcturus, he attempted to shove it right on the top of Arcturus's head. Once that was performed, he ran off, sprinting. Of course, he stayed in the fight. This was fun.

Arcturus charged up the hill towards Kel. Then he got hit with a lot of snow in swift succession. One from Kel, more from Kel, then a monster bomb from behind. Slightly dazed, he looked for the firsties. He couldn't see Kel, but he did see Stevie running away. He must have hit him from behind with the monster snow glob. Figuring Fay could use more distraction, he charged after Stevie, hoping to draw both of them into a fight and give Fay the distraction she needed. He got a little closer to Stevie and hit him in the back with a snowball.

Feeling the snowball, he knew Arcturus was right behind him. Quickly bending down and grabbing a handful of snow, he flung it backwards, and continued running around in circles.

Arcturus saw the firstie bend down and grab some snow without slowing down. He could tell what he would do, it was obvious. He sidestepped as the firstie chucked the snow over his shoulder and pegged him with another snowball.
Arcturus was still unsure as to Kel's location, but figured she would have to be attacking him from behind soon, or else he was going to slaughter the Gryffie firstie. He was continuing his idiotic tactics so that the firsties would have the bravery to keep attacking him. If he was acting intelligently, he suspected he might be able to take them, except that if he were being intelligent, then the firsties would retreat to their fort, where they had a better chance.
He sincerely hoped Fay would be able to repossess the firstie's fort, the only reason she would be unable to would be if both firsties were in the base, and even if they were, Fay and him could do some serious damage if he attacked while they were distracted by Fay. He realized his team was in a real good position right now. So long as the firsties didn't come up with something wildly unexpected, Fay and him were going to own the firsties!

Thanks to Arcturus, Fay could now see an opening to go through with the plan. Snowballs in tow, she snuck out of their fort and quickly rushed behind the closest tree.
She threaded her way the trees, stopping evrry few trees to hide and look out at the forst she was zeroing in on. Her last stop brought her inches from the First Year's fort, and she looked over at the scene in front of her. She couldn't see her fellow Hufflepuff anywhere, but she caught a glimpse of the Gryffindor boy running around in circles, and Arcturus right behind him.
Counting to three in her head, Fay ran on "1" and chucked a snowball in the Gryffindor boy's direction, hoping it would hit and then jumped into the empty fort.
She only hoped Arcturus would know what to do next; she had no idea.

Arcturus saw Fay come out of the trees and fire a snowball at the Gryffie firstie. He was about to yell at her to get in the fort, not attack the firstie, when she jumped in the fort. Slightly embarrassed at thinking she was that stupid he jumped into the fort after her, still carrying 11 snowballs.
Gee, this is a nice fort. . .
"Yes! We captured the fort! Excellent job, Fay! Now we have to stop the firsties from taking it back. Shouldn't be too hard."
He stood up and whistled another snowball at Stevie but missed. He looked around. Kel was nowhere to be seen.
Suspicious . . . she should be helping her buddy.
He crouched down and whispered to Fay: "Watch behind us. I think one is sneaking around behind us. We could take her so long as she doesn't surprise us."
He looked down the slope behind the fort on top of the hill. There were a couple of bushes, but no real cover. However, the slopes on both sides were heavily wooded and offered plenty of cover. Kel could get close, but he was confident she couldn't get behind the fort without being seen. The fort was protected just fine on both sides, so sneaking up to one side wouldn't help much, and so long as they saw her, they could hold her off from behind for forever.

Stevie stopped running, and went the other way instead, dodging a snowball, and leaving Arcturus nowhere to be found. He didn't even know how he got in this, or at least, didn't remember. Oh well. He knew that he and Kel were bound to lose, but he would go out in a blaze of glory.
Or, at least, maybe jump and land in a snow drift or something. He didn't know. Sprinting toward the trees, he awaited his next move.

{Arcturus, I resent the fact that you referred to me and Stevie as 'firsties' 11 times in your last two posts.}
Kel had stayed behind the tree for a while, then finally realized she was facing away from the castle and both forts. Feeling exceedingly stupid, she snuck back towards where she thought the hill with her fort and the other students were, but ended up in a small valley. Extremely confused now, she went back to the patch of scuffed snow where she had met Arcturus. She followed his footsteps back to their fort, then hopped inside. Peeking over the top of the large rock, and not seeing anyone, the slightly snowy 'Puff pulled her head back down and set about making 'balls to keep her hands busy, and to replenish her nonexistent ammo.
'I wonder what happened, she thought, slightly worried for Stevie. She hoped he wasn't being help hostage. If he was, she'd have to either (a) try and rescue him, (b) go and get someone else to help her rescue him; or - and this was very dastardly - (c) leave him to his fate and camp here until Fay and Arcturus came for her.
Musing over this, Kel again popped her head up and over the ramparts of her fortress, her dark bomber hat contrasting with the white snow around her.
