At around three in the afternoon, rapid knocks would be heard on the door. On the other side stood two people, roughly the same height, waiting patiently. The woman had her hair in a long braid that reached a bit past her back. She was wearing an obviously hand-knitted sweater, and a pair of thick pants and boots. She was getting slightly gittery, and looking at the forest from time to time, the man by her side attempting to calm her down subtly.
To her side was the man, with short, trimmed hair that fell in piles on his head. He was wearing a beat up long sleeved shirt, with a coat over it. He was also wearing equally beat up jeans, but he did not act at all how one would think you would act according to his attire. Both held brooms, fairly old ones that weren't for sport, but got the job done. And they were hoping that they weren't interrupting anything.

One of the large wooden doors opened wide to reveal the newly appointed Deputy Headmaster. His armaments had been significantly lightened but he still sported his thick black combat vest and heavyset cloak, his combat boots, leather gauntlets and sword at his hip. Nicholas' hair was tied back as usual, the usual two wisps framing his scarred face. He'd opted to wear a long dark red trench coat beneath his body armor with golden trim.
Nicholas smiled and bowed.
"Welcome to Hogwarts. I assume you're here to visit your children?" Nicholas said as pleasntly as possible.

The woman grinned and nodded.
"Yes, please, Stevie Copeland? Where is he?" She walked in, looking for him and at Hogwarts itself, taking in the atmosphere.
The man walked up to the man who had greeted them.
"Terribly sorry, my wife's a bit... Shaken up at this whole ordeal. Brian Copeland." Grinning, he held out his hand for a handshake.

Nicholas accepted the man's handshake. "Sir Nicholas Lannsman, Deputy Headmaster and Head of your son's House, your humble servant." Nicholas said warmly, giving Mrs. Copeland a nod before opening the door wider and gesturing with a wave of his arm. "Please, follow me, I'll lead you to him."
He remained smiling as usual, his old self having resurfaced a good deal several days after the attacks. His hand rested on his tell tale sword and his warm smile on his face.

The man thought he might tell this Nicholas, who seemed nice and honest enough, about his own position, but decided against it.
"Thank you," Brian replied. The woman grinned widely and stepped beside her husband.
"And I am Michelle Copeland." She wanted to just get her name out there, just in case she was to be called 'Brian's wife'. She hated that, as Brian hated being called 'Michelle's husband'. They both walked behind Nicholas, staring at the new things of Hogwarts since they've been there.

Nicholas returned the greeting to Michelle before leading them down the Hall. His hands rested on both wand and sword as he spoke to them over his shoulder, his smile not fading. Students milled about, supervised by Prefects and older students and in groups as well.
"As you can see, the Ministry has been investigating this situation, as well as some of our Professors actually, about these strange creatures. The grounds have been thoroughly checked for the passed few days and sections have been cleared and deemed safe for travel. Your son, Stevie, had taken the attack rather roughly. He's been unnaturally quiet and withdrawn but has been getting better. Understandable under the circumstances, but your son wasn't injured physically. HE did witness some of the attacks firsthand and I think that having his parents with him might be what he needs. I've tried to help, but there's only so much I can do for him. He's a good lad, and I'm happy that you've come to visit. I know what it's like to be worried for your children as such."
Nicholas talked to them, nodded to other students and staff as he walked by them. He led the Copeland's at a measured pace, keeping his tone with the same casual courtesy that came naturally to him.

"Yes... But our jobs tend to eat up all of our time, so we don't normally have much time. We took some time off for this, as did most of our co-workers." Not once did Mr. Copeland state what his job was.
Michelle followed, still dazily looking about the students and the scenery, impressed.
(Guh. Sorry for the bad post, I just feel exhausted.)

Nicholas smiled somewhat. "I can sympathize with you on that part completely, Mr. and Mrs. Copeland. What is it you do, exactly?" Nicholas asked, trying to keep up a civil conversation and possibly to keep them distracted from being worried about their son.
((Sorry Stevie! If I ever forget again, don't be afraid to smack me uspide the head!))

The duo looked to each other for a split second before turning back to Nicholas. Michelle spoke.
"We... Travel around and find work." The husband nodded. They did not elaborate. Michelle continued to look, now mostly at the children and the paintings. Most offered a 'How do you do?' and Michelle gave a smile, but nothing more.

Nicholas chuckled a bit. "Ah, the life of the adventurer. How far have you traveled? Any interesting sights? Haven't had much time to travel much since I left the Ministry." he continued, his tone light and frindly.
I wonder why they were so evasive...

"Yes. Though it gets tiresome and we barely have any time to see Stevie..." Brian frowned slightly, then continued. "But we've traveled far and wide. Name a place, we've been there."

Nicholas laughed cheerfully.
"Well, I can't say I'm very learned in the realm of geography but what about the Gryffindor common room? I'm quite certain that's a place you'd like to visit." he said, smiling.
He led them up some of the winding staircases and hallways beyond, slowly making his way to where Stevie could be, or most likely would be hopefully.

"Sure," Brian said, "Stevie'll probably be in there..." They both continued to follow Nicholas, Michelle still looking around.
"This place hasn't really changed a lot since we've been here, hasn't it, dear?" Michelle was still looking around as she said that.
"I still like it," came the reply from her husband.
