There was a knock on Zea's office door that night. Aesir stood there, with his travel bag at his side, clutching it for dear life. He wore his usual pants and boots, but wore a tanktop and an unzipped hoodie. No goggles were in sight, but his hair maintained the permanent windswept look.
Alrighty MacLeod, relax. Yer just goin' in fer a friendly drink is all. That's all she meant by it. Friendly drink.
Alone?
Yes.
In her office?
Of course. How bad can it be? I'm just gettin' some mixed signals, is all.
He heard movement inside.

Zea opened the door with a flick of her wand.
"Come in," she called, from where she was sitting on the windowsill, dressed in dark blue jeans, a white tank top, and a leather jacket.
"Oh, Aesir, it's you. Good."

Okay, tank top, jacket and jeans. Nothin' wrong with that. See? You're just imagining things. Just take out the cider and have a good time.
Alone?
Yes.
In her office?
Oh, shut up.
Aesir smiled charmingly as he closed the door behind him, holding up his satchel. "I brought the gift ye gave me. I appreciate it. Care ter join me?" he asked as he fished out the bottle.

"That sounds lovely," she smiled. "Ever had ice cider before? It's one of my favourites, but it can sometimes be difficult to acquire."
She flicked open the cabinet on the other side of the room with her wand, and summoned two champagne flutes.

"Well, I hope ye didn't go through too much trouble jus' fer little ol' me then, Zea. Although I do appreciate the gesture. The last time I ever had a sip of alcohol was too long ago for me likin'." he said, grinning mischievously. He approached Zea, dropping the bag to the floor and sat alongside her by the windowsill.
He held up the bottle. "Would you like some, Madame?" he asked, his insufferable grin surfacing.

"You'll be pleased with this, I wager," she smiled. Touching her wand to the bottle, she chilled it with a quiet word, and popped out the cork. She poured it into the two glasses, and handed him one.
"Cheers," she said, smiling. "What shall we toast?"

(Insert lewd comment about Zea's body)
Yup, I'd drink to those.
Aesir lifted his champagne flute. "To good health, and good company. Hopefully good booze, too." he said still grinning.

"Well, it's alcohol value probably isn't as awesome as the vodka up there on that shelf, but it's certainly tasty."
"I'll drink to that," she grinned, and gently tapped her glass against his.

Vodka, eh? Excellent...
Aesir down the flute in a matter of seconds. It wasn't terrible, a lot better than tea, that's for sure.
Drinking some paint thinner would taste better than tea at this point.
Here here!
Aesir looked to the bottle of Vodka. "Well, should we ever finish the cider..." he said, somewhat teasingly as he chuckled afterwards sitting a little closer.
His leg brushed up against hers.
"So, feeling better? Had most of the faculty worried. I know I was."

"Oh, I'm feeling loads better. Was one of those nasty bugs that you really can't do anything with but let it run its course. I'm feeling fine now. I won't die... well, not in the next five minutes anyway. Unless rocks fall on my head."
She blushed slightly, due to her babbling, and shut her mouth.

Aesir laughed.
"Well, I'm hoping you won't die. It was friggin' freezing when I flew all that soup and those treats to yer window. S'not like I do that to every attractive woman I know." he said playfully, winking and pouring himself some of the cider.
"It wasn't contagious was it?"

"I don't think so. Wasn't about to find out the hard way, though," she grinned. "I really do appreciate what you did. It was very original... not many people would do that. Especially not for sick colleagues."

Aesir shrugged. "What can I say. Thought ou could use a bit of a pick me up. 'Sides, I find it hard ter believe that someone as gorgeous as ye has never had men wrapped round her finger."
Hell, ye've got me running laps.
Aesir shifted slightly. "I was in the neighbourhood and thought I'd try my luck." he said, laughing some more and raised his glass. "Looks like it paid off some."

Zea blushed at the comment.
"Well, being someone who, before professorhood, spent most of her days largely covered in mud, I didn't have much time for the whole "dating" thing."
She chewed on her bottom lip thoughtfully.
"So, do you have an ulterior motive behind all of this?"

Trying to figure out a way to have you covered in mud again.
Shut up! You're not helping! That's not what she meant.
Hey, you thought it, not me.
What?
Aesir fixed her with a curious look. "Never really dated, huh? Well, I didn't have any ulterior motives before I walked in-
That's a good one.
-but now that ye mention it, I might."
He gave her his smile yet again as he sat up along right beside herand put one arm around her as he looked forward to the cabinet. "What say we finish the cider, chit chat a little and move on to a stronger drink."
