Kel raced into the hall, then skidded to a stop and slowly, daintily, walked the rest of the way to the single table that was set for all the remaining students. Spotting Daviv, she waved happily, the floor-length dress she was wearing fluttering slightly around her ankles. Even if she wasn't spending Christmas with her family, she would look good, darn it! Her mother and father had decided to spend Christmas with her sick aunt to give her hassled uncle a break, but since Kel would have been another hassle, she was staying at Hogwarts over Christmas. Kel didn't mind as much as she might, though, because she would be spending it with - she surveyed the table - Stevie, Neoma, Lilianne, an older girl who looked like Lilianne and. . . Kel almost gasped. The drunk Ravenclaw from the Halloween Ball! She hadn't talked to him since then, but she had seen him at meals, and once in the library. She hoped he would be sober this time. Now, what was his name again. . ? Oh yeah! Arcturus Mac. . . Doog? Dingal? Drimbal?
Sliding into the seat next to Arcturus, she remembered how she had met him. He had been friendless, so Kel decided to be nice to him, even if he did seem to be glaring at the girl who looked like Lilianne, albeit half-heartedly. "Hello Arcturus!" she greeted with a warm smile. "And everyone else, too, of course! Although I don't actually know who you are. . . though you look kinda like Lilianne. . . ." she beamed at everyone around the table, and directing her last comment to the older girl sitting next to Lilianne.

[OOC: Lol, is it me or is everyone sitting on the same side of the table? Whats wrong with the other side, is it full of Slytherin cooties?]
Isabelle smiled at Stevie.
"Of course, I won't mind if Lilianne wants to bring her friends, I'd like to know all of them better!"
Isabelle was being rather uncharacteristically nice to her sister. Missing the rest of her family on Christmas, and being without her school friends probably had something to do with it.
After Keladry showed up, and adressed her, she answered her interrogation with: "That would probably be because I'm her sister, dear!"

Lilianned beamed at her sister. "Yes, I would like it if you don't mind me bringing friends... Stevie has the most adorable prairie dog ever, Din gets along great with him, I bet Henson would too!"
Lilianne waved at Keladry when she showed up. After Isabelle spoke to her, she took care of proper introductions. "Kel, that's my sister Isabelle. She's a 6th year. Ravenclaw. Isa, that's Keladry. She's in Hufflepuff, she's been teaming up with me often in class."

Kel smiled at Isabelle's joke, and waved at the Ravenclaw when Lilianne introduced them. She leaned across Arcturus to grab a basket of cinnamon rolls, glancing down the table. There were a good amount of Slytherins down a ways, and across from Kel a little to her left were a bunch of girls, giggling and glancing down the table at a black-haired Hufflepuff. Kel rolled her eyes, then turned her head the other way. To Kel's right down the table on her side were a few Ravenclaws who seemed to be having a debate, large Quidditch players arguing about - what else? - Quidditch and a girl and boy holding hands on the table. Kel brought her attention back to her immediate companions, popping the last bite of a raspberry tart into her mouth, brushing a few crumbs off her hands. The crumbs fell onto her green velveted lap, and with a small swish, she swept them off onto the floor.

Claire walked into the great hall, it was Christmas morning, well nearly noon. She had decided to have a lie in, she was surprised actually that she hadn't woken up earlier, seeing as she shared a room with three mental gossip queens, who happened to stay for Christmas. She in beside some giggling girls, who were smiling down at some black haired boy. She rolled her eyes, and looked across the table, there was a group of firsties and a girl that looked older than the rest of them.
She took a piece of toast and buttered it, she took a bite into it. She hated Christmases at Hogwarts, though she knew she would hate them even more back home with her parents. She pushed them out of her head, this year she would try and get into the Christmas spirit.

Stevie grinned and waved at Keladry, as Floyd hopped onto the table.
"Um... Here's Floyd!...?" He said, floyd nibbling into the smallest cinnamon roll on Stevie's plate. He broke off a very small piece, just big enough for Floyd, and multiple people sitting at the table smiled at Floyd, but he didn't notice. He noticed food.
Stevie took this opportunity to open the book. The first page was blank. He flipped through it, and all of the pages were blank. But, ontthe back cover, there was the word 'jurnal'. He blinked at the misspelling, but noticed a small feather, that seemed to be already dipped in ink. He blinked, and once again flipped to the front page.
He thought of something to write, and decided on 'hi'.
It disappeared. Stevie blinked in disbelief, as words started writing themselves, but Stevie still held onto the feather. 'Hello Stevie, you don't know me. I assume you are in a public place, so I will keep it brief. DO NOT OPEN THIS WITH OTHER PEOPLE.' As the last period marked itself, the words quickly faded. A small sketch of a creature was sketched and labeled. He dropped the feather and shut his book as quickly as he could, making a loud 'THUD'.
"... I didn't do it."

Kel glanced at Stevie as he denied doing something. She smirked. "What didn't you do this time, Stevie?" she asked in a fake-exasperated voice, smiling so he would know she was joking. She noticed a Slytherin girl who rolled her eyes at the giggling girls, who were trying to scoot closer to the boy they had been goggling at. He was inconspicuously scooting farther and farther away from them. She hid her smile with her hand, ducking her head to hide her eyes, which were sparkling with mirth.

"...Anything at all. I did nothing." he said, joking back. Though, of course, he would never fess up to having this book and its powers. He ate more sweet things, though. He was all sugar high soon.
"So... When are we gonna go out?" He asked Isabelle, slightly hopping in his seat.

"Whenever everyone's done eating, I guess... Keladry, do you want to come with us by the lake? We're taking our pets there. What about this girl, is she in your classes too, Lil?" She said, pointing at Neoma.
Merlin's beard Isabelle, what are you now, the school's babysitter? What am I getting myself into?...

Kel gave Stevie another fake suspicious look, then turned to Isabelle. "Sure! I know Tiria would love to come and socialize with some other animals!" she smiled at Isabelle happily. Edit: ((OOC: Here's a link for Kel's dress; just imagine it floor-length. She's also wearing a sheer green long-sleeve shirt underneath, with long princess-like sleeves. Just imagine that, too. Oh, and silver slippers to match the trimming. Give your brain a work-out! www.myclassicchild.com/custom/catalog/image.php?productid=17024))

((OOC: Geez, everything happens while I'm gone.))
Arcturus smiled wordlessly at the first-year Hufflepuff whose name was right on the tip of his tongue. He eavesdropped on the conversation between Isabelle and the first-years. He was fairly surprised that the sixth-year Ravenclaw whom he had originally had pegged as a bit of a snob would condescend to hang out with first-years, but it just went to show that first impressions weren't always everything.
He continued eating his breakfast peacefully.

"Great, then! The more the merrier! I guess we should go and get our winter gear on after breakfast, and meet up in the entrance hall with our critters... You'll want to change though, Kel, you don't want to get that dress dirty..."

Stevie continued eating, eyeing the book a bit suspiciously. This was definitely a change of events, but the surprises just kept on coming here at Hogwarts. Stevie liked it that way.

A few steps and then the doors open with an absentminded swoosh of his wand. He seems to be pondering something as he goes about his normal routine before looking up blinking..
"Wha? I remember decorating but... oh... right, right right."
He nods and then makes his way towards the staff table.

After opening his small amount of gifts in his Common Room, Donall made his way to the Great Hall for Christmas breakfast.
He walked in a little later than most, but he didn't mind. He was't there to socialize, really. He wasn't even sure who had stayed over the break, anyway. He would see when he got there.
He slipped in the Hall quietly enough, and looked around at the decorations. They were nice and homey; very much into the Christmas spirit, as always. This was his sixth year staying at the castle for the holidays.
He sat down at the end of the table on the opposite side of the first years and the sixth year Ravenclaw he vaguely recognized from his classes. He assumed Alora had gone home for Christmas; she was nowhere to be seen. At least that was a good thing, no need for any more awkward moments at a time like this.
A plate of food appeared before him and he ate quietly, occasionaly listening in on the conversation happening accoss from him.
