In the week that followed the attack, many students were well on their way to recovery if they weren't recovered already. Althea however was still not completely out of bed, but found that she could walk around with the help of someone else. She would have probably have cast more healing spells on herself is she could find her wand... Her wand which was probably still somewhere in the Great Hall, most likely having rolled into a dark corner somewhere.
Perhaps a student or staff member might find it and bring it to me.
She kept sending Hermes, her ferret, on missions to the Great hall to see if he could find it, but every time he came back empty handed.
She was happy to know that her children managed to reach her parents in London safely and that they were having a grand old time with their Grandma and Granddad. (So she was told by frequent letters delivered by owl.) Althea wrote back her many thanks and sent her love, letting the children know she was doing better.
She was fed up of staying in the Hospital Wing and now that she could sit up, walk (or rather limp) and eat and drink, she moved herself to her and Nicholas' private chambers. She needed a change of scenery.
But all the while in which she lay there, the thought that Minka could be involved, keep running through her head.
Minka. She must have let them in. She was the only staff member absent from dinner. It's like she knew- Well of course she did... She's a seer... Or a criminal mastermind... Those burns on her arms... She must have been dabbling in Dark Magic to earn herself those... I've got to tell the Ministry...
She felt a bit safer now that members of the ministry were patrolling the halls, at least she knew that there wasn't going to be anymore monsters roaming the halls.
She slowly got out of bed and began to painfully move towards her office in search of her trusty labcoat. Everything was sore. She moved step by step, steadying herself on anything she could find, which was mostly the wall and door frames.
Comon... I hate this- You can make it.

Nicholas walked into the Hospital Wing, positively flustered. He couldn't believe it! This news was incredible! Never had he even thought it would be a possibility!
Nicholas saw Althea slowly making her way towards her office and he couldn't help but slowly walk up alongside her.
"Quite the marathon you've started. How many laps left?" he asked playfully, his excitement bubbling beneath the surface. He couldn't wait to tell her!

Ahhh... Who am I kidding?
She leaned on him for support instead of the wall.
"Ohhh... That depends on how far you consider a lap to be... If it's a foot than maybe 20... Glad to see you're in a good mood. What are you smirking about?"

Nicholas easily held her wight in his arms and looked down at her smiling.
"With a gorgeous woman like you on my arms, why wouldn't I be?" he said, kissing her cheek softly. "Come, have a seat, there's something I need to tell you and I think it's probably better if you weren't standing up when I tell you this. What were you trying to do, anyway?"

She kissed him back on the lips. " You don't kiss me like you used to." Her smile faltered briefly. "I was going to get my lab coat... It was the closest and best thing I could find to wear over my nightgown...Its in my office, we can sit there." She lowered her voice so that anyone in immediate earshot would not hear. "I was going to try to find someone from the ministry... I think I know who's behind the attack... So what's this good news?"
She slowly shuffled along in her slippers until she stopped dead for a moment, gripping Nicholas's arm hard, trying to keep herself from falling. Her back twinged again and send a sharp pain down her spine, but quickly passed."Agh!" She winced... "Maybe I shouldn't be walking just yet... I feel so useless... I want to tell the ministry myself."

Nicholas listened to her as he helped her move to the room until she winced in pain. He stopped until it passed and slowly began to help her to her office again.
"Well, I'm curious to know what information you've managed to gleam from your bedside and might have been behind all this. Nathan is around, and so he might be able to confirm or help you with your theory, if I see him I'll tell him to drop by." Nicholas began until they reached her office. He closed the door somewhat and turned her to him and leaned in to give her a much more intimate kiss.
"I was waiting for you to be a little more to recovered, but if you insisted..." he said smirking. Finally, he moved to a chair and pulled it out for her.

She smiled. "That's better..." She took her lab coat from the coat rack and put it on, taking a seat at her desk. "That would be great... Think you can get him here soon?...Oh- And what's this big news? Com'on tell me..."

Nicholas stood before her, hands held behind his back. "Well, you know how Orynn has left us, correct? It appears there was a certain position he was filling that rquired immediate attention. I've just finished talking to Elsbeth..."
Nicholas left the rest unsaid. He knew Althea was smart enough to piece it together.

"Oohhh... Congratulations, love! That's quite the position..." She stood up again and hugged him. "Does this mean you get a raise? Can you buy me something nice?" She laughed.

Nicholas laughed and returned the hug warmly.
"I could look into it. Maybe a gold plated wand with your name written in gemstones alongside it, or something. Although, it might require a tad bit of bribery first..." he said, chuckling as he began to kiss her somewhat playfully. "Who'd of thunk it, huh? I can just imagine the look on his face if he ever found out..."
Thinking of it for a second, he realized that Orynn's facial expression probably wouldn't have changed in the slightest; the same cold, disapproving look he always bore.
Maybe his eyebrow would have twitched for a split second.
"Huh..." Nicholas muttered in realization. Shaking the image from his mind, he looked back to Althea.
"So, what about this big secret of yours? Whose behind this, you think?"

She made a face at the idea that he wanted to buy her a 'bling' wand... "Oh good heaven's no-" She nudged her nose against his and kissed him again. "Yeah I could imagine." She made a dead pan expression mocking Orynn's usual expressionless facade. She giggled when she noticed that Nicholas had the same idea.
"Yeah so about my big theory- Umm... I have reason to believe Minka's behind it- Much like I suspected before hand that she was up to no good... Think about it... She doesn't talk much to anyone- She burnt herself badly and go defensive every time someone brings it up- and she was -the only one who wasn't there for dinner... I dunno, maybe it's the pain killing spells that are talking, but it makes sense to me. I just want to tell the ministry to grill her a bit, maybe she'll admit to something."

Nicholas' expression changed subtly to a more concentrated and serious face; the Auror face, people came to call it sometimes.
He listened to her theory and nodded gently.
"Not to discount it, but she wasn't the only one. Orynn wasn't, or countless other students. Aesir didn't show up until it was a little too late either. I know we wouldn't liek to think it, but an older student might have been involved or even Aesir too. He was the first to encounter them, wasn't he? Where was he before? It could easily be they turned on him if it was indeed his doing, but I think it highly unlikely. But we mustn't rule out the possibility." Nicholas said officially.
He decided to find a seat to rest on as to discuss with Althea.

"You are right, I suppose it could be a student... Aesir, you really think so?... I don't know if it would be worth nearly killing yourself to cover up something like that- Besides... I'm sorry to say, but Asier can't do magic... Unless he used himself as bait to lure then into the castle... That's a bit extreme... But more importantly, why did this happen? What's the motive? A distraction?"

Nicholas' eyebrow quirked.
"Huh? What do you mean, can't do magic?" Nicholas asked confused. "He's a professor, he must be able to."

"Oh no-" She gasped. "I wasn't supposed to tell you that!" She covered her mouth with both hands and mumbled through them. "I feel like such an idiot...He told me that in confidence... Oh, he'll never forgive me if he finds out I told someone."
