Kel felt the train jolt to a halt. She peered out the window, but it was quite dark and there was nothing to be seen. She quickly stuffed the fleece blanket, pillow and journal into the bag again, then pulled out her school robes, slipping into them quickly. She grabbed her wand from it's pocket in her jeans, tucking it away into the specially-designed wand pocket in her robe sleeve. As she stuffed her feet into her trainers and laced them up, she wondered they were going to get to the school. Somehow she doubted they'd be walking.

A few hours later, as the train slowed to a stop in the Hogsmeade Station, Dónall had finished his book. It was 500 pages long, but he was a fast reader. Always had been.
With his mind wandering back to the happenings of the past few days, Don stepped off the train, leaving his trunk behind him as he always did. The students' belongings were always brought up to the castle without them; he had no need to take his trunk with him.
Grabbing the horseless carriage nearest to him, Don sat himself down and closed the door behind him. He didn't want to sit with his peers; he would much rather keep to himself like he had all throughout the train ride.

Stevie was sleeping. But, not for long. The train jolted to a halt, and Stevie almost fell out of his seat. He quickly scrambled up, embarrassed. He gave a nervous laugh and grabbed his guitar, prairie dog hopping into one of his pockets on his robe. It was now he realized he had taken his shoes off he second he got into the place. He put them on and quickly laced them up. Stevie was grinning ear to ear the whole time; you could tell he was excited.

Finally! Can't wait to feel the breeze. I hate compartments.
Aesir all but ran off the train, he was so eager to get off and take to the sky once more. As soon as he walked out of the communal transport, he casually swung the broom over his shoulder and sat on it.
He glided along the area, taking it all in, and nodding appreciatively to the surrounding area. Finally, tired of being in the hustle and bustle of the prepubescant horde, he lifted off the ground at a decent height and began to follow the first years towards the lake in order to reach Hogwarts with them.
Why not? It was his first year too.

Neoma stepped off the halted train, with not as much nervousness as she would have before she had met Alora. The seventh year Ravenclaw had been very nice to her, but now, as Neoma understood it, they were to be separated. She was alone again.
The man who she had waved to on the train before floated right past her. Her eyes followed his broom as she couldn't believe it was airborne. She couldn't help but giggle with glee. Those who got off the train did not go for their baggages, as that was being handled by others. So she followed those who looked to be of her age, towards where the man with the broom had flown. Looking ahead, it appeared to be vast lake.

He sat upon the broom, looking out to the lake where the moonlight shimmered across. First year student's were guided to the boats by some of the House Prefects who cautioned them aboard, and told them things would be alright. Several of the boats pulled out once they were full, the oars rowing away as though someone were using them. Students looked at the magical boats with fear and awe.
Aesir felt the same trepidation building in his chest as he urged the broom across the lake's surface, his boots barely touching the surface of the water and left ripples in their wake. It wasn't until a few minutes forward he caught a glimpse of the enourmous castle perched on the the cliffs of what almost looked like an island.
There were only a select few times where Aesir was struck speechless; this was one of them.
He hovered above the surface of the lake, simply staring at the archaic structure with childlike amazement. This was going to be his home for a while. This was where he'd fly for a living.
This was a dream come true.
With his devilish grin resurfacing, and bubbling laughter erupting from him, he gave one loud whoop of joy as he began to laugh in earnest joy. He proceeded towards the building at full speed, barreling his way towards Hogwarts and expressing his utter joy hrough his flight, twisting and twirling in the air in a flight of happiness.

At the sound of the trains whistle, Shellivia's head snapped up. Dear meshe thought, are they here already? Indeed she noted by the shadows it was quite late. Running quickly to the edge of the lake she watch happily as the new students pushed off in their boats while a crazy man zoomed around on the lake. Foolish boy, she thought a bit angrily, first years aren't allowed brooms for a reason, I hope the squid makes a pass at him to teach him to be more careful. The person in question seemed to be having a wonderful time and from her vantage point on the high bank she saw him tearing off across the lake in a reckless fashion. And a show off none the less; this year will be interesting. The rumble of the carriages could be heard and she gave one last look and smile to the new students all floating across the water. There was always something more magical about the first day, as absurd as it seemed for a school of magic. Turning her tail to the lake she bolted up the lawns and tried her best to outrun the carts that were full of jabbering students. The thestrals still in the woods gave her curious glances and pointed stares, and she wondered why they weren't used to it by now. She always tried to beat them to the castle; the new energy always made her feel young like a young foal again.

Stevie made sure to hop on the first boat he saw, much to the dismay of his prairie dog who almost fell out. Lucky for the both of them, Stevie tucked his hand into his pocket, inadvertently pushing the small animal out of harm's way. He made sure to take the front place.
He was too much in complete awe to play his guitar. It simply lay there on his lap, ready to be played yet not. Stevie was too focused on marveling at the castle. And that guy, riding in his broomstick... Who was he? Wait. What the heck was that? It looked kind of like a horse... Person... Thing...
'C'mon, Stevie, you're just tired.' he thought to himself. His eyes were probably playing tricks on him. He continued staring at the castle, and everywhere else he COULD stare. This was just about the coolest thing he's ever done in his life. At least, to him it was.

Kel hopped into a passing boat, landing right next to Stevie, who seemed to be staring at something behind her. She turned around, and stared. It was magical! 'Well, duh, Kel, it's a school of magic after all!' She told herself.
But even with the talking inside of her, she was silently watching the castle, as if making sure it didn't go anywhere after all her excited waiting to finally get here.

"Hi!" Stevie said, smiling at Keladry, who he had gotten a glimpse of getting into his boat.
"This is really cool, huh?" He asked. He really thought this was the best thing ever, just because of this boat ride and the sights alone. By now, Stevie had forgotten all about his guitar, though it was still perched on its lap. There was NO way he'd let this baby drop into the water, it was a beautiful guitar, and an expensive one at that. But, it was made with fine woods, so it created a great sound as well.

"I know! I've been waiting for soooo long for this moment! It's so wonderful! I feel so happy and lighthearted!
"And maybe a little light-headed, too." Kel added, smiling at the eager boy across from her.

Stevie blinked.
"Uhm... Don't pass out? You might miss some cool stuff... But besides that part, I feel the same way!" Stevie grinned, and paused for a moment.
"I don't really know much about this school... Do you?" Stevie hoped maybe he could learn more. He really wanted to know about this school before actually participating. Sure, he would participate anyway, but he would always be left wondering.

"Okay, I'll try. But I suspect it might be rather hard. I'm just so excited!" Kel squealed, then turned red. "Sorry about that. I'm just so nervous, and happy, and excited, and worried and glad! All at the same time!"
In reply to his question about Hogwarts, she had to reply-mostly-in the negative. "Well, my parents both went here, but I don't have any older siblings to pave the way or anything. My dad likes to tell stories, but they're mostly just about how he got detention for flying out-of-bounds, or played pranks on people or stuff like that. Not really about the classes and professors and what you do day to day."
Kel looked curiously at him. "Why do you ask? Are you a Muggle-born?" Kel asked out of pure curiosity, not trying to be mean. If Stevie was a Muggle-born, he might have a hard time at Hogwarts. She wondered if someone would help him along. She vowed that if he was in the same House as her, she would tell him all about Wizarding culture and things like that.

"I'm excited too! And I pretty much feel the same way. Just not as worried. Dunno why that is, though..." Stevie shrugged. "Don't worry about that." He was talking about the squeal.
He paused, listening to her story. "Well... were any really entertaining? I'm not the kind of person who would prank people, but I'm just curious." He really wouldn't have time pranking. Well, he WOULD but he wouldn't use it. He'd probably just hang out in the common room and play his guitar. Or talk to people. Or both. Better yet, do homework. Or study.
"...I have a feeling there's going to be a LOT to do here."
He listened to her next question, blinking. "Muggle? Well, my parents knew some stuff about Hogwarts, I guess they went there and wanted it to be a surprise..." He blinked. "What's a muggle?" He instantly turned a deep shade of red. When Stevie blushed, he took it to the limit. But this time, it was because now, he was acting like he didn't know anything.
'Nice start with someone new, Stevie.'

Kel listened to him, glancing at him when she heard his last question. She saw the blush, hastening to explain. "A Muggle is a non-magical person. I was born into a Pureblood family. My mum, though, had a Muggle mother. She didn't know anything about magical ways, either. She had a hard time figuring everything out, but her friends helped her a lot. Maybe if we're in the same House, I can do the same for you!" Kel said hopefully.
