Lilianne felt fear starting to creep up her entire body as it went rigid, but she concentrated on her recounting of the novel, focusing on it instead of her helplessness.
It wasn't so bad as the first time, even if it was still unpleasant.
It isn't so terrifying not being able to move, if you're not trying to...

There was a small burst of light as the relaxation spell was loosed a few moments later, releasing Lilianne from the curse. Nicholas took a few steps and covered the distance and kneeled before her.
"Are you alright?" he asked quickly, concerned. "How do you feel?"

Lilianne gasped when she was released. She looked over at her professor, rubbing her arms as if she was trying to chase bugs off of them. She looked a little off balance, but her breathing was fine. Definately an improvement over the earlier accident.
"I'm okay, I think, Professor. I mean of course I didn't enjoy it, but I managed to keep my mind off of it and didn't panic, Sir!"

Nicholas smirked and clapped her shoulder with his right hand. "Good girl. I told you you could do it. You'll do fine, Lilianne. Like I said, a little practice and self confidence and you'll catch up to your sister's level in no time." he added with a wink. "I daresay you might surpass her one day too."
He stood back up and dusted his knee. "Spell wasn't too constricting?"

"Well, hum, it felt constricting a lot, beind unable to move, but I could still breathe, you know? And I was expecting it, and I knew I was safe. It wasn't a bad guy that was cursing me..."
Lilianne frowned, looking a bit worried. "How long can that curse last, if you have no friend near to release you?"

"It depends on a lot of things. Proximity, incantation, the caster's condition as well as strength with the spell cast." he began, listing them off-handedly. He walked back towards his desk with a smile and began to jot down something on a piece of paper. "All which will be explained in classes eventually. That little blast might have lasted at least a good two minutes."
Finally, he pulled up the letter and handed it over to her. "I'm sure Professor Barnaby will understand."

"Two minutes? Hum. I guess I was so busy concentrating on not thinking about what was going on that I didn't realize so much time had passed. Must be quite different when you know you're in danger, though..."
She took the letter and stared at it for a moment. "I suppose I should go see the professor before dinner, so that he may tell me what I missed so I can read the book and catch up a bit..."
She pocketed the letter and looked back at the Professor again. "Hum... Professor? Do you think I'm ready to face the next class? I don't if you've had uh, cases like me before... Is there anything I can do to prepare myself? I have to admit I'm probably more nervous when there's more people around me..."

Nicholas smiled knowingly. "Just think of yourself. I told everyone this in the first class; if you aren't afraid to look foolish, you will go far. There will be times where you won't succeed and will be embarrassed, but if you shed that part of self consciousness now, you will be able to dust yourself off and try again. Failure is nothing to be ashamed of. It doesn't matter what others think when it comes to your own education. What can they do, anyway?"
He gave her an encouraging grin. "Don't worry. You're not the first person ever to get worried like this. You'll do great. You've already come a long way this afternoon, right?"

The confirmation that she wasn't a 'special case' made Lilianne feel a lot better.
"I'll hang out to that, sir. Thank you. You've been really patient with me."

Nicholas flashed her his warm smile.
"Lady Wesker, as a Professor, it's my job to teach you the best way on how to not only defend yourself but to grow as a witch. As a Head of House, your welfare and health is in my best interest. As a knight, it's my duty to help those in need, especially a young lady such as yourself. And as a friend, to make sure you'll be alright period. Now you should probably run along before I pour us some more hot chocolate and we start chit chatting again." he said, chuckling a bit in the end of his kind words. "Feel free to stop on by whenever. My office is always open."

Lilianne giggled. "Yes, and my mother might not want to give you her autograph so much if you give me too much chocolate before supper..."
She grabbed the sides of her robes and gave him a ladylike bow. "I bid thee farewell then, Sir Knight."
Lilianne then ran out of his office, heading first to Professor Barnaby's office before heading to the great hall.
She would have a long letter to write her parents that night. Maybe she would ask her father to dig up more stories about Professor Lannsman, and his father too. She didn't want to bother him too much asking questions about his auror job as she realized that's what everyone expected of him, but she was still curious...
