While facing away from her, his face split into an enormous grin.
"Course, the thing with the stuff, with the people at the place sometime later, right?"
Aesir two, Elsbeth zero.
He left the phial in the drawer and closed it, looking to the pile of papers. He shuffled some around as to not lose track of his progress and turn around, leaning back on the desk to look to the fluttered Headmistress.
"I suppose yer a busy person. What with runnin' a school, preparing fer our date next week, taking care of the students, tryin' ter unsuccessfully find a way ter remove whatever shoved up Orynn's-"

Snapping back to reality, Elsbeth stopped Aesir before he got ahead of himself. "Yes, you obviously get my point."
Remembering the date they would be going on, Elsbeth eased up a bit; if only he knew exactly where they would be going... "Oh yes, our date. I had nearly forgotten. It'll be a great time, I'm sure."
She smiled sweetly.

I don't like that smile.
She's up to something.
She's going to kill you. See how she's so happy?
No, she wouldn't.
He saw her still smiling sweetly.
Aesir gulped.
"Well, I look forward to it, though. Honestly." he said in earnest, speaking in a more conversational tone. He added in a kind afterthought "Never thought a sophisticated lass such as yerself'd ever say yes to a fella like meself."

"You know, now, come to think of it... I don't quite know why I did say yes, myself," she said, in a joking tone. "Maybe it's your irresistable charm, and good looks." Her words were semi-dripping in sarcasm. She knew deep down there was more truth to it than what she let on.

"Flattery will get you everywhere, Elsbeth." he said, smiling. She had a quick mind and a sharp tongue, a sense of humour and fine taste in drinks, attractive and attracted-
If I don't believe that, who will-
it had been a while since he'd tried to date a girl like her.
Not like Zea.
Aesir blushed.
Well, that's just a completely different set of brooms altogether. Lips were sore for a bit after that evenin'.

"Will it get me back to my office?" she inquired, not totally meaning what she said.
She chuckled wholeheartedly, and stood up from her seat. "Oh, who am I kidding, I still have my list to finish. As always, there are things to do."
Shifting her body a little to face the door, she stood next to Aesir's chair. She placed a hand on his shoulder, leaned in and kissed him on the cheek. "Happy Christmas, Aesir" she whispered.

Sure, it'll get ye ter yer office. With enough flattery, ye might not be alone either.
Aesir smiled as she kissed his cheek. Quick as a fox, he wrapped his arms around her and spun her into a dip.
"Merry Christmas Elsbeth." he said slyly, giving her a quick peck on the nose. He brought her back up quickly. "Get back ter me about the music, but remember, I wasn't at the Ball. 'Sides, I got work of me own ter be gettin' back to anyway."
He patted the desk full of papers.

Elsbeth sighed, and nodded. "Yes, I never saw you at t]he Halloween Ball. No one did... Anyway, it's not a problem, do what you want with the music, you have my clearance."
"Right, I'll be on my way then," she said, as she made her way to the door.
