It took a good while before Nicholas they arrived to the common room. Nicholas did his best to entertain the worried and friendly Coeplands, interested more and more in their secrecy of their work; but he didn't press.
The painting opened up to the Common Room where many of the younger Gryffindor students sat inside performing a myriad of activities while confined. Raising an arm, Nicholas spoke.
"After you, Mr. and Mrs. Copeland." he said courteously, bowing ever so slightly as he moved aside.

"Thank you." Michelle steppes in before Brian, who gave a nod at Nicholas in gratitude.
Stevie, meanwhile, was on his bed, staring out of the window, not really interested in doing anything. Brian continued to look around, Michelle looking at nothing in particular. She hadn't been a Gryffindor, and all of her school life she wanted to know what the common room looked like. She thought it was cozy enough.
Brian raised an eyebrow and walked back toward Nicholas.
"Any idea where he may be?" He surveyed the room one last time before turning back, awaiting an answer.

Nicholas looked about the Common Room, searching for the young man. Chewing his lower lip, he pondered Stevie's whereabouts.
"He could very well be upstairs in the dorm room. I'll ask around here while you go upstairs to check."

Brian nodded.
"Alright." He went upstairs, giving Michelle a reassuring smile as she waited down here. She didn't know what was going on, but figured that the boys' dorm and she shouldn't go in there. So, she continued to walk around aimlessly.
Stevie was staring out of the window, half asleep as always, when Brian came in. Some kids waved, and Brian gave them nods and waves. He made his way over to Stevie.
"Stevie." Stevie turned, and he almost smiled.
"Hey dad."
"... What happened to you? You look like you've been in a car wreck," he joked.
"I haven't been getting much sleep. Don't worry about me, I'll be fine."
"Stevie. We need to talk privately. Now this is really important so we're gonna have to go somewhere where absolutely nobody can hear us, see us, anything. Alright?" Stevie instantly seemed more awake. His father rarely told him anything of this great importance with this much urgency to be completely isolated. Stevie nodded, and got up, following Brian downstairs. Michelle, the instant she saw Stevie, ran up and bombarded him with questions shot rapid fire. Brian calmed her down.
"He's fine, dear, don't worry." Michelle sighed and followed Brian as he returned to Nicholas.
"Is there any place here that we can be totally alone... Without the portraits or being near the forest, I mean. Back in my day, some secrets got out by the portraits and I don't-" Michelle interrupted.
"Honey, you're making yourself seem old." She smiled and elbowed him int he ribs slightly. Brian simply shrugged.

Nicholas chuckled slightly at the banter.
"My office is a secure for those specific reasons. I can lead you to it, if you'd like. Unless you'd prefer another suggestion." Nicholas offered helpfully.

"Your office is fine," Brian said, nodding. Michelle grinned at nothing in particular, mainly the flood of memories and Nicholas' hospitality.
