It's later in the evening.
The common room is rather quiet. Most have gone to bed, leaving the space rather empty.
Although, beyond the door leading into the room, a muffled conversation can be barely heard...although...the voices do seem somewhat agitated...

Kel couldn't sleep, so she had gone to the common room to sit by the fireplace and sketch a bit. She had dozed off for a bit, but the sound of muffled voices had awoken her.
Kel didn't immediately decide on going to investigate. She was more worried about what would happen if the mysterious voices found her than who the words belonged to or what they were saying. She uncurled her legs from underneath herself, carefully raising herself off the ridiculously comfortable armchair she had been snoozing in. She intended on going back to her dormitory very quietly, so as not to let the voices hear her.
Then, it occurred to her that maybe the voices weren't supposed to be there. So instead of going down one of the round hallways to her cozy bed, she tiptoed very carefully and quietly toward the door concealing the Hufflepuff common room.

There was no mistaking her head of houses' accent, which seemed to sound thicker when she got emotional, which was almost never. She was clearly angry at whomever she was talking to. Her voice was raised to a loud whisper.
"Three of them? Don't you zhink zat's a little much? Could you pozzibly attract anymore attention? You weren't supposed to being testing until you were sure- ... The ministry is investigating everyone, especially staff... I'm not to going to get anywhere near the grave now..."

"It is not like I led dem 'ere on purpose! Dey went wild! I was only performing de preliminary tests on dem. En tous cas, de ministry men will not be 'ere long. We simply need to remain low for a little while. I will try and go to de forbidden forest again, but I can not make any promises."
The voice belonged to a young man, older than Kel, but definately far younger than Minka.

"You better make sure you are not followed- Clean up the mess you made...If you F-up again, Ill be sure to let the Don know it was you that screwed up his plans..." Minka was fuming, not ever did she hear her head of house swear, no matter how strict or mean she got at times, she always chose her words carefully.

"On se calme, ma chère. Pas besoin d'utiliser cette sorte de language. Et je ne suis pas le seul qui a fait une gaffe. What about your 'ands? I see you'ave 'ad much success on your end too. Don't threaten me, you shriveled hag, your life iz on de line too!" the person responded venomously.

Kel listened, slightly confused, but understanding the gist of it, except for the French bits. At least, she was pretty sure they were French. Not positive, though.
She was, however, quite shocked. Obviously, this young man was doing something bad in the Forbidden Forest, Minka was helping him, and she was doing something here in the castle that wasn't going well. Kel, smartly, did not gasp or give away her presence in any way, but she carefully recorded every word the pair said, so that when she went to the Headmistress, she would be able to relate it nicely. . .

[Subtitles for those players who don't speak french: He said "Clam down deary, there's no need to use that sort of language. I'm not the only one who made a mistake.]
"I don't understand you- Speak English! My hands are a minor setback... The only person in this school with a head on her shoulders who even noticed was the Doctor- You know, I'm almost sad your pets didn't kill her- The point is, I got a little burned, and you managed to get the school shut down for a week and call in the Aurors!"
Her voice was no longer a loud whisper, but now was shouting.

Kel listened intently, flinching back when Professor Davinmir started shouting loudly. She wondered that no one else was coming to investigate the loud voices, if indeed the school had been Aurorified.
Already completely suspicious, Kel began to get slightly worried. If they found her now, she was totally doomed. In waaay above her head, though, was a good position, because that meant that she would have that much more to tell. She had the same chance at a smooth getaway that she had had before, though, so she stuck around to see what else she could hear, being careful to remember everything, especially the things she didn't understand, since she had a weird feeling they were especially important. Of course, that meant remembering an awful lot of stuff, since the small Hufflepuff didn't understand any more than half the conversation, if that.

"Now is not de time to point fingers! We need to-"
"Is everything alright here, down here?" came an older, deeper voice. One of the Aurors, older, tall and somewhat stocky with white hair, and a thick mustache wandered down the hall. He wore a cloak and simple warm weather garb. "I heard some yelling and thought I'd make sure everything is alright. Everything is alright, isn't it?"
"Bien sur, Monsieur. She was just bringing me to my Common Room and I guess we were somewhat too heated on our debate."

[Wiggly knife? lol]
Minka's tone changed completely towards the older man, putting on a pleasant disposition. "Ja- Of course everythink iz fine. Bringing him to his common room... iz everything, alright with you? How goes that investigation, find anything yet?"
Kel could tell that Minka wasn't really interested in what the man was going to say next, but was rather fishing for information on just how much the Aurors had figured out thus far. Minka began to fiddle with her gloves behind her back and if Kel was watching, she was slowly slipping her wand out from her long puffy sleeves, as she continued to humor the Auror with idle chit-chat.

"Well, I'm terribly sorry to say my dear, that this is top secret. If I tell you, I'd have to kill you! Ahaha, well, well. No need to look so stiff, chap. I was just concerned is all. In any case, there doesn't seem to be any of those creatures lurking about here, but I do believe people might be trying to sleep you know. Now, if you have any questions, do not be shy to ask your lovely Headmistress Pierce for details. I can only give you a genereal everything is alright and all that Ministry rubbish for we don't have any conclusive answers yet but everything looks like it should be alright. My, my! I have let msyelf run on haven't I? Hahaha, well, I suppose I'll leave you off then. I need to continue my patrols, then probably sit down and report over some tea. Ha! Well then, off you go then, although I woudn't mind if I could enjoy your charming company for tea sometime, madame. You seem to be of pleasant company. There I go again! Well, age has rendered my mind a little addled, hasn't it? Hahaha, alright, I'll be quiet and what what. Good evening you two!" the man said.
He bowled through his speaking with good natured bluster, an occassional boisterous belly laugh bubbling up from him. His smile was wide and mostly hidden by his large mustache that he occassionally twiddled with. Finally, he waggled his fingers in there direction before moving away from the corner, humming a tuine to himself.
The young man looked back to Minka, incredulous. "Dis is what we should be afraid of? Sacré bleu, ils sont des imbéciles."

Kel listened to the exchange, catching the odd glimpse of the walrus-mustachioed Auror. Her hopes had lifted when he had said he was an Auror, but had quickly been dashed when it was obvious he either hadn't heard anything incriminating or was too silly to tell that he had. She stood with her ear pressed to the door behind the portrait-hole, listening to see if the two criminals had anything else to say. She was getting a bit nervous, as she suspected that after being discovered, they would go their own ways. Kel hoped dearly that Minka's way was not into the common room, because if it was, Kel was sunk.

Minka hushed her voice again, "I take back what I said, it appears that the Aurors know nothing- They probably think that it was some random occurrence in the Forbidden Forest... If I were you I'd clean up before they find your things... I'll keep this twit occupied." She pointed in the direction of the walrus-eque Auror. "Now go-"
Kel was indeed lucky, for Minka did not return to the common room, but rather decided to pursue the Auror who had made his way down the hall.
She called down the hall in her pleasant tone, "Sir, wait, what's your name? Can I interest you in some Turkish coffee instead?"

Kel almost sighed in relief to hear Minka go down the hall, but stayed by the door to make sure the young man was gone, too, before she would head to bed. She didn't want any sounds to escape from the common room out to him like they had just leaked in to her.
