Minka was simply not at Tuesday's dinner. Either she lucked out or she knew it was coming, for she seemed to be the only one missing from the staff table. She finally showed up in the Hufflepuff common room, after she had found out what had happened.
She began a head count and found that there were a few students missing. She had a pretty good idea of where they might be.
"I hope the lot of you are fine... If you aren't please report to the Hospital Wing as soon as possible. If you need assistance getting there, I will help you. Also, no one is to leave the common room until further notice."
Minka was never very good with words, not even in her mother tongue. She tried to comfort those students who were visibly shaken from the whole experience, but all she could manage to say were things like: "Be thankful you are alive." and "It could have been much worse- Could have been a dragon."

Fay was curled up in a ball of fear on a chair nearest the fireplace. The warmth emanating from the hearth soothed her, though not fully.
As her Head of Hosue spoke, a shhiver went down her spine; she had noticed the Hufflepuff Head's absence from the Hall before the whole ordeal had occured.
She didn't strike up conversation with anymore, she just sat in her chair mulling over the evening's events and thanking Merlin that she was alive and unscathed.

Kel had at first gone straight to bed after the ordeal of supper, but found she couldn't sleep, and so she dragged her duvet into the common room and onto an armchair, curling up like a cat and staring deeply into the fire, as if it would assure her that everything would be okay, that everyone would be fine (she didn't know the specific people, for she couldn't see anything over the enlarged table she had been hiding behind, even if she hadn't been too busy to look over it) and that the monsters were all dead and wouldn't harm anyone again. She worried about Stevie, Lilianne, Neoma, Arcturus (who she had begun to like, if just a little bit, and even if his boisterousness got on her nerves sometimes) and Isabelle. She didn't know if they were safe, or where they were, or if they were hurt, or if they were even still alive. A silent tear slipped down her cheek, and her insides ached.

She wondered up and down the dormatories looking for injured students. She found some that were hiding in various places. Most were thankfully relatively unscathed, mostly bumps and bruises. The worst injury had to have been a 3rd year Hufflepuff by the name of Melissa Bay. She had a rather nasty shard of glass from a broken water pitcher dug deep into the flesh of her hand. She sat on the end of her bunk sobbing lightly. A fellow third year, Marius Lennox, sat next to her and examined the wound.
"I really think you should go to the hospital wing with Madame Davinmir... It's pretty bad."
"Just pull it out... I will be fine..." said Mel.
"But you'll bleed more." Maruis tried to dissuade her from pulling it out.
"Ja- I think you should come with me dear, if you don't have it treated properly, it will get infected... Make it worse." Minka interrupted. "Come now."
Melissa was reluctant to follow, but dared not anger her head of house. Marius stood up to go with her.
"Tut, tut, Mr. Lennox. You can't come, you must stay here."
"But Ma'm, I think she's want some company?-"
"It's ok Marius, I'll be fine."
"No- I'm sure the hospital wing is crowded enough. Please stay here."
Marius looked defeated, he just wanted to help and be a friend, like any Hufflepuff would, but his head of house was right, the hospital wing was most likely crowded. "Very well." He sat back on the bed.
Minka left the common room with Melissa in toe.

Not long after Melissa and Madame Minka left the Common Room, Neville came in through the door.
He looked around at the throng of shocked students, and cleared his throat.
"Is everyone all right?"

Kel raised her head slightly. She smiled tiredly at Professor Longbottom, waving one of her hands, not seeming to notice it was still under her duvet.
"Most of us are okay, just a few miner scrapes and such. I think everything's patched up. . . mostly everyone was just a little hysterical." she unconsciously reported, not knowing—or caring—that she should have let a prefect do it.
She lowered her head and gazed into the fire again, seeing it this time instead of dwelling upon the events of tonight. She just wanted to sleep, and get some relief from her worries and thoughts.

"Okay. If there is anything serious, please come here, we'll go down to the Hospital Wing."
"You all know that there was an attack on our school. I don't know the specific details as of just yet, but the attackers have been subdued and we're dealing with the aftermath. We've called in reinforcements from St. Mungo's to take over the Hospital Wing, and so far, so good."
"I want everyone to go to bed, and get some sleep. As far as I know, classes will be cancelled tomorrow. After that, we shall see."
"I will be available for anyone who wants to talk with me - my office door is open, please feel free to drop by, about anything, not just this."

Kel nodded slightly. Somehow, she had managed to lull herself to sleep by staring into the depths of the fire, and she was afraid if she moved, she would lose this precarious position between hysteria and exhaustion.
