Henson the Bat was fluttering back and forth around the common room as students started to flood into it various states of panic and confusion.
The Prefects and older students were doing their best to calm down the younger ones.
Mary and Sera entered the common rooms, sheperding a group of first years. After they got them to sit down near the fire and calmed them the best they could, the two girls went to sit on a nearby couch in silence. They huddled together, and remained quiet, ignoring the commotion in the common room.
Henson stopped fluttering around when he noticed his master's friends, and flew down to them. Sera picked him up, and started whispering to him very softly.
Mary put her head on Sera's shoulder, and cried quietly.

Arcturus staggered into the Common Room. He hadn't been physically hurt, but the sight of people he knew being ripped into . . . well, he never wanted to see that again. He really, really, really, hoped no one would die. He didn't think he would be able to bear that right now.
He dropped onto a couch fairly near the two sixth-year girls. He curled up into a ball and tried not to think about what had happened. It wasn't that the monsters scared him, or that he didn't like fighting, but that he couldn't stand to remember people he knew, friends, bleeding on the floor. He shivered.

Zea stepped through the door to the Common Room, looking older than ever. Her clothing was ripped and stained with blood, and her whip was still curled up at her belt.
She cleared her throat.
"Listen up, Ravenclaws."
"We have suffered a terrible, terrible attack. As of right now, I don't know precisely why, or what, or how many people are hurt. I can tell you that one member of our House, Miss Isabelle Wesker, was very injured in the fight, trying to protect her younger sister. She did a noble thing."
"The doctors from St. Mungo's say she will survive, but she needs a lot of rest and peace."
"I have a lot of things to get done tonight, but you guys are my first priority. As your Head of House, I'm responsible for you. So I'm here. My office door is going to be open all week, and there will be a bell on my desk - if I'm not IN my office, ring it, and I'll get there ASAP. Anyone who wants to talk about it, please come to me."
"For tonight, the staff is going to be patrolling the hallways. Stay here. Please, everyone go to your dorms, and try to get some sleep. As far as I know, there will be no school tomorrow, until we get this sorted out."

When Zea entered the room, Sera and Mary tried to bolt up at the same time from their huddled position, resulting in a confusing mess of flailing arms, hair, cloaks, and wings. They fell over each other on the ground, Henson flying off with a disgruntled screech.
Trying their best to untangle themselves, they tried to stand up to rush to their head of house, but froze on the spot as she spoke out-loud.
They remained in an awkward position, looking oddly as if they were playing the muggle game of Twister, as Zea spoke.
The second she looked done, they resumed their scramble and rushed over to Professor Winters, speaking quickly at the same time.
With enough concentration, one could understand they were asking for details of Isabelle's well-being.

"Whoa, whoa, slow down, girls. She's okay. She'll be okay. We've got the best doctors working on her. She might have a few scars, but she'll be okay. Go get some rest, you can visit her tomorrow. Her parents are being called in, but I promise you, she's out of critical condition."

The girls grabbed each other's hands, still looking unsure if they should feel relieved, but calming down nonetheless.
...Well, at least they took turns cutting each other instead of speaking at the same time.
"So she'll be o..."
"How long do you think she'll..."
"You guys really don't know what..."
"WAIT! What about Lilianne?"
"Yeah, how is she? She looked so scared!"

"Lilianne, last I saw her, was in the hospital wing with her sister. I think Sir Lansmann or Professor Longbottom is going to return her to the Gryffindor Common Room later."
"She's shaken up, but she'll be all right. Her parents should be arriving sometime tomorrow."

The girls looked at each other for a while, hesitating, as if they were still trying to come up with ways to argue.
Finally, Sera sighted, and looked back at Professor Winters.
"All right, Professor... We'll go and try to sleep. But please, Professor, the moment you know we can go and visit her, please let us know."
"The second we can. Like, send us a Patronus or an owl or some student who can run fast, whatever."
"We'll be waiting." Sera added, arms crossed, looking serious.
Mary called softly to Henson, who came back to her. She picked him up and let him cling to her shoulder. With a last glance at their head of house, the girls made their way to their dormitories, arm in arm.
