Course Syllabus (1&2)
Potions – First Year and Second Year
Time Slot: (Real Time) Sunday night to Friday afternoon
Required Reading: Magical Drafts and Potions
Required tools &Utensils:
- Size 3 cauldron
- Knife
- Mortar and Pestle
- Potion-Making Kit (With basic potion ingredients)
- Cauldron Servicing Kit (To clean your cauldron after every use)
- Brass Scale for measuring ingredients
= You are discouraged from bringing your wand into the classroom. If you do, please keep it tucked away where it can’t be seen.
Objectives: Throughout this course you will, hopefully, learn the basics of Potion making – the proper methods of preparation as well as the ability to follow directions precisely as they are written. You will also learn how to make the most basic of potions, if you have mastered the proper preparation methods. There will also be a class trip to the Apothecary, if everyone behaves and works hard.
Class Rules:
- Be on time; tardiness is highly discouraged.
- Treat the professor and your fellow students with respect.
- Work quietly when preparing and concocting potions.
- Follow instructions as best as you can, mishaps are not a good occurrence.
- Homework must be in on time. (OOC: Really, there is no homework.)
Other Information: You will be graded according to your class participation, in-class assignments, homework, and exams. (OOC: Really, it’ll just be given like that, no work involved other than showing up for class and RPing with me.)
If you ever have a problem with something you have learned, please stop by the Headmistress’ Office. (The password is Firewhiskey, unless it has been changed. In that case, you will be informed.) I do not use the Potions Office for meetings.
