It was now finally, the very last class before the beginning of the Winter Break. Snow had not softly covered Hogwarts castle, but there had been no heavy snowfall yet. Just enough to make it plain as to which season it was.
The fireplace in the Transfiguration class room was roaring, and it's heat was absorbed by the stone of the classroom walls and floors. Students would likely immediately appreciate the warmth of the room from the chilly temperatures outdoors.
Orynn appeared to have been in class for some time already, and there was an empty mug of tea that was on his podium to suggest it. He shuffled through some papers as some students began to file in.

Dónall walked into class a little upset. As usual, he had recieved an owl that day saying that he was to remain in the school for Christmas Holiday. He would not be returning home, nor would he be spending Christmas with his family. Chances were he would wake up to find gifts at the foot of his bed, things his parents had others pick out for him. Nobody else ever gave him holiday gifts.
He shouldn't be upset, though. He expected this, and always did enjoy the solitude of the Slytherin Common Room during that time. Things had been changing this year, and he supposed maybe this was all just part of that change. He was finally realizing how wrong it was to be away from one's family at a time like this.
He shuffled his feet as he made his way to his desk, and barely nodded in the professor's direction. He plopped down into his seat, and dropped his bag on the floor next to him. He crossed his arms and waited for more students to arrive. There were only a few others who had arrived just before him.

Finally, the last of the students sauntered inside. Each of the students looked like they were running on their last bits of energy. The semester had been rough indeed, on all of them. Most of the students were resting their heads on their arms, on their desks. Orynn sighed in disappointment, he couldn't imagine this being a very productive class.
"We will begin this class with the homework you were asked to complete. Each of you were asked to find some mythological, historical, or theological figures who had extremely strong attachments to a specific element. Would anyone like to volunteer to go first?"[/color]

Don surveyed the students around him; none seemed ready to volunteer an answer. He had just fished out his parchment and quill, and his homework, and it was placed in front of him on his desk.
He looked down at his assignment, and spoke out, "Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea. His element was, obviously, that of water."
