Care of Magical Creatures
Course Outline
Professor: Shellivia Nos Taroanin
Office: Wigwam by the edge of the forest, near the lake.
3 rd and 4 th year prerequisites: None.
Class time: Friday through Tuesday (real time), in game time ~ 2 hours.
This course will give an over view of 16 magical creatures that have been classified by the Department of for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures as needing a Competent Wizard for their handling Each class will be dedicated to a specific creature and students will have hands on interaction with the creatures.

Quills
Parchments
Ink (in two colors)
Dragon’s hide gloves (or gloves of an equivalent material)
Warm winter clothing

Class policies:
Classes will be held year round, regardless of weather, in the clearing east of the lake. Attendance is mandatory and lateness or absences of any kind are not permitted barring illness, requiring a note from Dr. Lannsman, or an excusatory note from another professor (i.e. held back after class or a detention). Classes missed cannot be made up unless in extreme circumstances. Exams are held in class and students are not permitted in arriving late. Any missed exams must be made up outside of class time and only at the express permission of the professor.
Students are expected to actively participate in class, handling or approaching the animals when required, as well as taking notes and answering questions.
Help, explanations of class material, extra credit work, or to inform the professor of extenuating circumstances concerning class attendance or allergies is available at the class office during the week excluding Friday evening to Sunday afternoon (in game time).
Grading:
15% Attendance and participation
75% Exams
10% Homework assignments
