The school of Hogwarts was suffering through the harshness of the winter season. No matter how much snow seemed to fall however, the courtyards and outdoor hallways were clean of snow and the castle's occupants never complained.
One set of footsteps was now leading from the edge of the Forbidden Wood, all the way up into the Entrance Courtyard. The footsteps were strong, and belonged to a long lithe woman who used a cane more for style than use.
The woman wore her pale blonde hair up in a bun, and was wrapped in a coat which had fur along it's edges. She walked up to the front door of the castle, and used her cane to knock three times abruptly upon the door. Demanding entrance.

Daviv was walking through the many halls and corridors of the castle, determined to find something to capture his attention other than books. He seldom came out of the library, because students were coming in and going out rather quickly, but nobody came there today so far, so he left a small note explaining his absence. And if the students had any questions, they would be answered by mercury, who was still there. He held a small cup of hot chocolate in his hand, and was taking sips here and there.
As he was passing the front entrance, he thought of going out, but decided against it. He was not a fan of the cold, and he did not have his jacket with him. Though, he heard three sharp knocks. He didn't think anyone would bother to come here if they've left already, and he was sure the door was unlocked for students to go in and come out... So why was there someone here? He opened the door a crack, not wanting to let the cold in.
"Hello...?"
(I hope it's alright that I joined and not a teacher >>)

When the door gave just a little, the woman behind it took advantage to take much more. Ignoring, almost entirely, the word of welcome, the woman pushed open the door and stepped inside. Disregarding whether she slammed the poor librarian with the door or not.
The woman shook her head of any and all flakes of snow, and peeled her violet leather gloves off. She then tapped her cane as her heavily outlined eye assessed her immediate area. As if scrutinizing the architecture of the hallways and ceilings, having made the tour, the woman's eyes then finally laid upon Daviv. She looked him up and down, and discerned him beneath her evidently because she then headed straight to the staircases without another word.
The woman could be called beautiful, but she wore one too many layers of make-up, and it was obvious she was hiding something. She walked up the steps hard, looked up and down, and decided to head up a flight of steps. Her cane clunking every so often beside her.

He raised an eyebrow at this lady.
"Excuse me. Who are you?" He asked, following her. If there was one thing Daviv didn't like, it was being blatantly ignored. Was she deaf? Or was she really that pompous?

As was normal for Headmasters and Headmistresses of Hogwarts, a certain connection with the castle alerted of any unwanted or unwarranted presences. This was one such occasion.
Elsbeth made her way to the bottom most staircase closest to the Entrance Hall, al the while showing a calm and collecte demeanor. On the inside she was bleeding furious that anyone would dare arrive at the castle unannounced like this.
As she got to her destination, and stopped hlfway down the stairs, she noticed that the Librarian, Daviv Radaris had already beat her to it. He must have been roaming the halls.
She gave him a quick smile, then turned her attention to the blonde haired woman standing a few steps below her.
"Good day, Miss, but if you don't have a valid reason for barging into my school unannounced, I'd say you were tresspassing."

The woman stopped in her steps, staring up at Elsbeth, whom she would normally tower over but not at present due to the fact that the Headmistress was a good few steps above her. Still, this did not seem to phase the red lipstick wearing blond. Who, after careful scrutiny, seemed to allow herself to talk to Miss Pierce.
"Well, aren't you a bright little nuisance now aren't you? You must be the Headmistress, he did speak highly of you. Not much truth in his words though..." The woman brought herself up to the same level as the Headmistress, and looked down at her eyes. "...maybe you can help me. I'm in search of my brother, help me find him or get out of my way, simple as pie really the way I see it." She said firmly, with a wink and a smile.
The woman walked right passed the Headmistress without bothering to hear for a response, she peered up the staircase as if something were waiting for her at the top of them. Not seeing what she wanted, she stepped close to the railing and looked down into the depths of the castle, still trying to find what or who she was looking for.

Elsbeth's mind reeled with all sorts of colorful words to use in response tothe insult from the woman. However, she swallowed her own insults, and simply followed the insufferable chit up the stairs. Whatever or whomever the witch was seeking would get a talking to for not warning her of the arrival of this... this woman!
She turned around once to see if Daviv was following or not.

He shrugged at Elsbeth, and decided to follow her up the stairs. He wasn't exactly sure he trusted this woman yet. Maybe it was because so far, he didn't like her. At all. In any way. Probably, it was for that reason.
He had his fair share of snobby people before, but to go as far as spouting insults at people for no reason was just unheard of.
"So, who's your brother?" Daviv asked, raising an eyebrow. He might help, his knowledge of spells would surely be an asset. That is, if he didn't get angry enough at this woman, and he was sure on that track, heading at an increasing pace of over fifty miles per hour.

The woman climbed a few more flights of stiars before finally darting into a hall. She rolled her eyes as she heard the footsteps of the Headmistress and the other one follow her. Her feet echoed in the halls quickly as she walked faster than normal. She figured she might be able to shake her pursuers off if she walked quickly.
So this is Hogwarts hmm? Makes me miss Durmstrang more. The woman whispered to herself.
As she walked down the hall, creating the loud click-clack with her shoes, she finally say a line of doors. As she passed them, she raised a single knuckle and hit each door that she passed twice. At the same time she called out, "Brotheeeerr. Oh brother..! Oh brother, where are you hiding?"
She stopped knocking when the doors stopped appearing. She stopped for a moment and looked behind her to see if who she was looking for had emerged.

Confused by the racket, Nicholas stepped out of the doorway, looking to the woman calling out for her brother. He was wearing thick woolen trousers along with the several belts to hold his wand and sword (not present at the moment) at his waist, a beige tunic with crimson embroidery along the cuffs and collar and an open leather vest.
"Excuse me, Miss, but can I help you with something?" he asked, curious about the noise and her odd behavior.

The woman turned around, blinked, and raised her eyebrows. Her smile grew so that her lips parted and revealed her teeth. Her eyes sized the male up, just as they had scrutinized the previous staff members, but this was an altogether different gaze.
"Help me? Well, by the looks of it I dare say you could be of some help to me." She grinned cruelly as she took steps towards the man, one at a time. She raised her violet painted nails, and moved them towards his face which caused him to move away almost immediately. The woman perked an eyebrow, and her eyes analyzed him again, and rested on his hand, specifically his wedding band. She chuckled mildly in her throat.
"Already taken I see, no matter. Things always taste much sweeter when stolen." The woman then walked right by the Gryffindor House Head and stopped right in front of the Headmistress who had presumably caught up with her by now. Staring down at Elsbeth, she spoke firmly as she had done before.
"The higher I go, the more imbeciles I find. He belongs here too you know. He'd deny that though, go into hiding. Yes... of course." Without letting the Headmistress speak she pushed past her and the Librarian and began her quick descent down the stairs towards the dungeons of the Castle.

Nicholas' hand nearly twitched at her touch, and he bristled at her remark of things tasting much sweeter when stolen. His eyes narrowed dangerously as he saw her condescendingly toss aside the Headmistress herself and continued to parade about the school grounds.
He knew the Headmistress was going to be polite about it, and Nicholas irritated enough at having his training accidentally tossed in the fireplace by his eldest son.
He clenched his jaw when called an imbecile.
One of those days, I presume.
He looked back into the room. "Daddy will be right back, finish your soup." he said in an oddly stern manner. With a purposeful stride, he walked after the woman, giving the Headmistress a curt nod as he walked by her.
"I'll take care of the guest."
He continued to go down the stairs two at a time, his long legs carrying him quickly enough. "Excuse me Miss, but the sooner we find out who this brother of yours might be, the sooner you'll be away from us imbeciles and on your way. Last I remember, we hadn't received any owls concerning your imminent arrival and so I must ask of your purpose in this facility lest you be escorted out of the premises." he said with as much cold authority as possible. It was said when Nicholas decided to play the 'bad cop' in his Auror days, he'd given the occasional dark wizard pause to think of their actions.
He was well on his way with this woman.

Elsbeth seethed with fury. This woman insulted her in front of her own employees. She couldn't stand for that, but she also couldn't lose face in front of her coworkers.
She balled up her fists, and let out a breath, then smiled in thanks at Nick as he offered his service. She followed right behind them as they made their way, presumably, to the dungeons.

The woman did not slow down in the least, her shoes still clicked and claked with every step she descended. She looked straight ahead as well, not even looking at the man as he spoke to her, nor when she replied.
"No, you wouldn't have, but then again he doesn't know I'm here either. I'm a bit sneaky like that." The woman suddenly stopped her stroll. She was on the same level as the great hall, there were stairs that led further down, but they didn't seem to lead where she intended. She huffed frustratingly and smacked her right foot on ground. She turned around and looked up into the eyes of the Headmistress.
"I do like a woman in power, very fetching indeed. I'd deal with you sooner than... others..." The woman looked at the librarian behind Elsbeth, and glanced for split second at the other male present. "The offices in the Dungeons, how would I find them?" She placed her hands on her hips as she asked, albeit more politely than before, but not what would be considered kind.
When she spoke, there was a flash of familiarity. Something in the jaw, the eyes, the structure of the face. There was definately something there that could be recognized as having been seen before.

Althea stepped halfway into the hallway, still leaning a bit on the door frame. "What's going on, love?" She caught the serious expression on on Nicholas' face, the one that he put on when he meant business. She discreetly slipped the wand off of her belt. "Who's our visitor?" she asked an attempt to be polite, feeling the tension in the air, hoping that things might deflate a little.
