Students rushed in, students rushed out. That's what it was like, occasionally. But, today, students weren't rushing in. There was not much homework given, and they could complete it quickly. Daviv was glad.
He wasn't glad just because he gets peace and quiet. He didn't like homework when he was a kid, so he didn't like homework period. He remembered staying up late. Really late. A lot. He remembered coming close to nodding off during class, but snapped himself back to reality as his eyes closed.
He whipped out his wand, and shortly, he had a book in his hand. Mercury was sitting on his laptop, purring. He purred a lot. It didn't really annoy Daviv, but it did annoy a lot of students. The librarian cracked open the book, propped his feet up on his desk, and started immersing himself in his own little world. Now, to see if anyone decides to come here...

Kel pushed the large heavy door to the library open, carefully guiding herself in. She had a stack of books to return in her arms, along with her carrier bag over her shoulder and her cat Tiria padding behind her. She walked slowly over to a table meant for studying, putting the heavy books down with a muffled thud. She sorted them out according to the Dewy Decimal System, then started putting them back on their respective shelves, thinking about what books she might need to find out how to animate her picture. She would poke around for a bit, because she loved doing that, and then she would ask Daviv.
((OOC: I didn't know what to call him. That sounds okay, but maybe he lets them call him Daviv. I dunno.))

(He lets kids call him Daviv.)
His cat purred and hopped on his book, looking Daviv in the face. This must've meant that someone the cat liked came in the door. Daviv looked up from his book, put a bookmark in it, and shut it.
"C'mon, Mercury, there's nobody here." He sighed as Mercury kept on the shut book, as if he was guarding it.
"I swear..." He mumbled.
"Hello?" He called out to seemingly nobody, just to entertain his cat. Nobody knew, but the cat was part kneazle. Barely, but a little bit. Enough to talk to each other magically. The ball of fluff hopped off of Daviv's book, and onto a table, staring at Keladry. Though, she wouldn't know if he was cross eyed or not, his fluff covered his eyes.
Daviv's hair had a band around the end, and the rest of it as apart as he could get it.

"Hello, Daviv! It's Kel!" Kel called from behind her stacks of books, peering round them at Mercury. "Hello, you." She said affectionately, patting the little fluffy cat. Tiria jumped up onto the table also, purring a butting her larger head against Mercury's small one.

"Oh. I didn't see you walk in! Need help with anything?" He asked, glad it was Kel. She was one of many who didn't grate on Daviv's nerves. But, take that many, and then look at the sheer amount of people at Hogwarts. Yeah. The majority of the ones who grated on his nerves were Slytherins. He didn't see why they had a need to bully everything, but they were them and he was him.

"Well, after I'm done putting these books back, I think I'll poke around a bit, but if I don't find something very helpful, then I'll need your help to find something to help me animate a pencil-drawn bird." Kel informed him, then picked up A History of Charms and it's Origins and headed off to its respective section. Daviv would probably think about that and have a perfect book all ready for her once she was done. She smiled. She loved the quiet library with its kind librarian. She always did her best studying while sitting amongst stacks or large books. Though, it was funny, because she did her best hands-on work when she had a short amount of notice, like someone picked up a wand and told her to get ready. Totally spontaneously.

Arcturus walked into the library. He was looking forward to doing some good reading. He loved the Hogwarts library with a passion. It was giant, and dusty, and the books smelled and even felt old. There were some awesome books in those shelves, all you had to do was go poking around. He'd found a first-hand account of the break-up of Salazar Slytherin and Godric Gryffindor with the exact words said by the two men in that fateful argument. It was very fascinating, definitely his best find.
As he walked in, he saw some Hufflepuff firstie talking to the Librarian. He hadn't talked much to the Librarian, didn't even know his name, but he certainly seemed like a nice enough fellow. He nodded to the two of them as he walked in on his way to the endless rows of shelves.

"Mmhmm. That's fine." He said to Kel, nodding. He nodded once more at Arcturus, as Marcury stared into Tiria's eyes, as an impromptu staring contest.

Tiria stared right back at Mercury, looking deep into the little cat's eyes. She wondered if this cat was like herself; she could talk to people and have them understand if she wanted to. She knew that the little cat was at least a bit Kneazle, but the purple-eyed cat wasn't sure how much of a magical creature he was. "What are you trying to do?" Tiria wanted to know, still peering curiously at the other cat. "Why are you staring at me, hmm?" she queried.

"Because I thought we were having a silent staring contest." Mercury replied. It took a long time for him to learn how to speak, only being a bit magical, but he did after years of teaching from Daviv.
The cat would have shrugged, but he couldn't. So, he simply walked off, hopping on a bookshelf and looking at the books. maybe one day he'd try to read. He'd probably not do good at all, but he'd try.
All the while, Daviv was watching this, silently amused. All that learning, only to inform another kneazle of a staring contest. Oh well. He propped his feet up on his desk rather unprofessionally, and continued to read.

Kel continued to return all her books, seeing a Ravenclaw as she did so. She had seen him during mealtimes, but didn't know him all that well. Once she had returned the last book - a large, stained copy of Magical Beasts and Where to Find Them - she turned into a large section of tall bookshelves where she usually found some neat stuff and started looking for titles relevant to animation. She found a few likely specimens, bringing them back to the table where she had left her bag and Tiria. Tiria, however, had wandered off, Kel suspected to find a good book to read.
((OOC: I don't want to think of a bunch of titles, so you can think of one if you need to use the titles for something.))

"Did you find anything on what you're looking for?" Daviv asked Kel, mildly interested. Sure he wasn't the most interested person int he world. He just wanted to read, but he liked Kel. She didn't bother breaking rules even though she was on good terms with him. That would only make it harder to give punishments.

"I found a few. . ." Kel replied absent-mindedly. She flipped through the table of contents of the first book, which had a lot of household spells. She set it aside, and carefully lifted the cover of the next one, which was old and battered. She ran her finger down the chapters, the ink old and pale, hard to read in places where the ink had run. She found a chapter on spells for restoration and stasis spells, and another one on intricate spells for machinery, but she just wanted a simple one for her drawing. She placed it on top of the previous one, then opened the third book. It seemed more promising, with simpler spells and shorter incantations. She found one that looked promising and stuck a small piece of paper in it to serve as a bookmark as she looked for more. She found another, less likely one, but bookmarked it all the same and started a new stack to her right. The next book was a potions textbook from years past, and had a slightly complicated, but not horribly so, recipe for a 'clear fluid'. Apparently, it would make things that were made of a certain kind of ink, a special kind of clay, paper, et cetera et cetera, move. After you applied the fluid with a dropper, you had to cast an easy Charm to make sure your specimen acted appropriately, but altogether it wasn't that hard. Kel bookmarked the relevant page and set it aside.

Thomas walked into the library at his usual time like he did everyday. Like always, he went immediately to the books on potion theory and took out about 5 before finding a table and setting them down. He also went to the biography section and took out 2 books before heading back to the table and began pouring through the books, making detailed notes. He had a piece of parchment for each book and then a parchment for the summary of all his notes. He continued to scribble away, trying to ignore the noise around him. His frog, rarely seen, hopped out his pocket and made his way back and forth around the table, simply enjoying being out.
