To compensate for the other Non-Player Characters in Hogwarts, who must be doing good deeds and bad ones around the school, we are using the following system. It's very simple and works like so:
Every Thursday, the moderators and I will roll a four (4) sided dice. We will then multiply the number on the dice by five (5).
The result will look something like this:
[dice=4] times 5 = 5 points.
So then the house who received that result will have that amounted added to their total. This will work the same way for each of the houses.
This will mean that even though a house doesn't have any active members (for example) it will still be in the running towards the House Cup. The rest of the moderating team and I, believe that this kind of system will promote competitiveness and activity on the boards.
This die rolling will be done every week, and will be added to the tallies immediately afterward. For three out of the four weeks in each month, all houses will GAIN points due to this system. We will only deduct points once[/u][/color] a month with the exact same system. We do this so that no house is ever in the negatives, which is just boring and pointless.
This does not mean, in anyway, that you should do nothing with your character. This system is in place simply to compensate for the NPCs. Your character can still win your house oodles of points through posts.
