Character Name: Arcturus MacDougal
Character Age: 13
Wand: 11'' holly, phoenix feather core.
Pet (if any): None
Family History: Arcturus comes from a long line of Scottish wizards. He's very proud of his ancestry, though looks down on what he considers 'those snobby pure-bloods'. He has no problem with Muggle-borns. He can trace his family back several generations. His whole clan lives in an old castle in the Scottish wilderness. He loves his family, and immensely enjoyed growing up in such a household.
Physical Description: Arcturus is tall and skinny. About 5'4'' with green eyes and fiery red hair. He looks like the stereotypical Scot.
Personality Description: Arcturus preserves the fierce heritage of his Scottish ancestors. He has a bit of a temper, and when he's angry people stay out of his way. He is a fierce friend, and anyone who attempts to slur any of his friends soon stops. When he gets angry, he forgets his magical powers, and simply attempts to beat the snot out of his antagonist. He is intelligent, but his intelligence is offset by his laziness. He could pass all his classes with straight Os, but instead gets mainly Es and As. He's OK with this, as he figures that grades aren't really that important, its the learning that matters. So, even though he occasionally doesn't turn in his homework, he still knows what he needs to. He can act a little too intellectual for his friends sometimes, but mostly he enjoys goofing around with his buddies as much as the next person.
Strengths: Very intelligent, a fierce friend, loyal, passionate in everything, he figures if he doesn't really care, then why should he be doing it? He's good at everything he puts his mind to, very energetic, friendly, kind when he needs to be, though he jokingly insults his friends whenever possible.
Weaknesses: Arrogance is his big weakness, and he knows it. He figures that more people have been hurt from depression than have because of being too arrogant. He's an awful procrastinator, and doesn't really care. He turns in everything he wants to, and if he doesn't particularly care, then why should he turn it in anyway? When he gets angry, he can be fairly scary. The Scottish blood runs true in his veins, and he suspects that if something truly important were to happen, it would be entirely possible that he could go into a famed berserk rage. Though nothing of the sort has happened yet, he has gotten in some nasty fights with would-be bullies. Generally, though, he's fairly thick-skinned and isn't bothered by people who try to insult him, but when someone starts physically attacking him, he's a lot less likely to shrug it off.
If given the opportunity - would you take part in a Quidditch team, a Book Club, a Potions group or an Afternoon Tea party? Book Club, by far. Arcturus adores books of all kinds.
If you found a wandering Kneazle, what would you do? Drown it! Just kidding. He'd love to keep it, but if it turned out to be too much trouble he'd release it. Kneazles can take care of themselves.
What House would you like to be placed in? Ravenclaw.
Why would you like to be in this student group and not the others? Though he wouldn't mind Gryffindor at all, indeed it was a difficult choice between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw, he thinks that he'd like to be with other intelligent people. He enjoys being able to talk to people who know what he's talking about. He also would like to be able to play a decent game of chess with someone.
Please give us an example RP:
Arcturus showed her the cover. It had a picture of a weird, part humanoid figure with sleek, shiny armor carrying a glowing oddly shaped sword fighting a real human who was wielding a more conventionally shaped glowing sword. "It's called 'To End All Wars'" Arcturus explained enthusiastically, "I'd heard it was good, but I could never get my hands on a copy till now." Arcturus was an avid sci-fi reader. He loved the stuff. He'd been called a nerd before for it, but he didn't care. He knew that the people who insulted obviously didn't understand, and thus there was no reason to listen to them. "I'm basically just enjoying my free time too. Got bored of reading my textbook and staring at the ceiling, plus I'd heard there was a good bookstore here. I just love bookstores." Arcturus sighed happily. He wasn't lying, he LOVED bookstores. The fluffy chairs, the endless books, it was pure bliss.
