Character Name: Fayette Varenne. Fay, for short.
Character Age: 14 and ¼
Wand: Holly, unicorn hair core, 11 inches
Pet (if any): A brown owl named Pandora
Family History (Go into detail, if possible):
Fay’s mother is a correspondent for the Daily Prophet. 16 years ago, Viola Muller, was on call at a muggle science convention, blending into the crowd, to observe a breakthrough in the scientific world of Muggles. This breakthrough would be beneficial to the Wizarding World as well, which is why the DP had sent the journalist to investigate. She met one of the top scientists, a Frenchman by the name of Georges Varenne, and conversed with him for three days straight. They kept in touch, eventually courted, and were wed soon after. They had one child, Fayette.
Physical Description: Fay is 5”2 and what she lacks in height, she makes up for in personality. She has vibrant brown hair, and stunning purple eyes, and a genuine smile to brighten up her face.
Personality Description: (Go into detail, if possible)
Fayette is a free thinker, always daydreaming or doodling, or humming, or going off on tangents. She adores fairies, which is very fitting, as her name is French for “Little Fairy.” True to her interest in fairies, her personality is very flighty, and flower child-like, but she can be very serious when needed. She believes strongly in equality of muggles and wizards, and has little respect for those who look down on muggles and their achievements.
Strengths: Fay is a hard worker, and fights hard for what she believes. She also is a great cook, which helps with her potion making skills. She draws very well, too.
Weaknesses: Once she begins daydreaming, it’s hard to stop, and this can effect her schoolwork. Also, she can be perceived as an airhead due to her appearance and personality, though it is obviously not true.
If given the opportunity - would you take part in a Quidditch team, a Book Club, a Potions group or an Afternoon Tea party? Book club!
If you found a wandering Kneazle, what would you do? Fayette would pick it up and try to console it. Chances are if it’s lost, then it would be upset, no?
What House would you like to be placed in (This is to be taken into consideration, though the Hat will ultimately make the final decision)?
Hufflepuff
Why would you like to be in this student group and not the others?
Hufflepuff seems the best for Fay’s personality. She’s extremely loyal and has a habit of sticking to things she believes, even if they’re not right for her.
Please give us an example RP:
There was a specific glade, behind Fay’s cottage, where she could have sworn she had seen a real fairy once. Chances were it was just her imagination; this was the Muggle world, after all. Had she been in Wizarding Britain, maybe she would believe her mind a bit more, but this was not the case.
Her summer cottage was in the middle of a large forest, full of beautiful trees and wildflowers. It was the perfect place to go looking for fairies, or at least to use as a backdrop for a fairy painting or drawing.
She sat leaning against a large oak tree, sketching a glade of flowers and moss, with a wood nymph in the center of a fairy ring. She was just finishing up, when she heard an adult woman clear her throat. “Ahem,” it said, trying to get her attention. “Ahem,” once more. “Fayette, darling, I’ve called you five times, now.”
Bollocks, it’s mother!
“Lunch has been on the table for ten minutes, and it must be cold by now.”
Fay bit her lower lip and looked up at her mother with her best puppy-dog eyes. “I’m ever so sorry mummy dearest! I was just so engrossed in my newest drawing…”
“Wasn’t that your excuse yesterday, Fay?” her mother implored. “You need to be more serious.”
Looking down at her drawing and then back up at her mother, Fay’s gaze changed from playful to apologetic. “I know… It’s just it’s the end of Summer Holiday; I need to squeeze in as much of this as I can before going back to Hogwarts.”
Her mother sighed, and bent down to her level. She laid a hand on Fay’s knee, and used the other to gently pull away the sketch-pad. “The train leaves tomorrow, honey. I’ll take this inside for you, we’ll have some lunch, and then Papa will help yu go through your things to finish packing.”
Fay loved Hogwarts, but she loved her summer cottage even more. She walked behind her mother, feet shuffling the entire way, and mumbled answers to her mum’s idle questions.
Her last day of freedom was coming to an end.
