Daviv walked briskly toward his target, bundle of books in hand. His destination? Headmistress Pierce's office. He had recently been told that some books had pages torn out of them, the pages nowhere to be found. He set aside a small time to search through most books of the library, staying up through the night, to find some of those that were torn. The results did not please him. One was okay, books can be replaced, but this many was disturbing. Who would be doing this?
Knocking on the headmistress' door, he waited, fumbling with the books to get them in a neat stack. There was a bookmark in the place of all the ripped pages.
One thing, though, that was very unlike Daviv, was that nothing was up with his hair. It was poofy in places, perfectly straight in others, to wavy in others. He looked sort of like a rock star.

"Come in," she called out, as she heard a knock on her office doors.
Elsbeth placed her parchments in neater piles and laid down her quill, waiting for her visitor to enter.

Daviv walked in, and set the books down on her desk, very careful not to interfere with anything.
"These books all have been vandalized. Whole pages have been torn out, the bookmarks indicate where the pages were." He said nothing more, and was definitely trying not to get mad. He didn't want to make it seem as if he was getting mad at Elsbeth herself, for she did nothing. It had to have been these students...

Watching carefully as Daviv entered and set his books on her desk, Elsbeth almost cringed at the thought of her parchments being messed up. She let out an inaudible sigh as he finished, and motioned for him to sit as he spoke.
She replied cautiously, knowing that he was angry. "This is serious, Daviv." she said, nodding in agreement with him. "I do hope this sin't the work of a student disrespeting school property, but if it was a professor that would constitute grounds for firing..."
She picked up th nearest book and fliped open to the part where the pages were missing. "This is terrible."

"Mm, yes. And why would somebody tear a page in a history of Hogwarts book? I'd think that more serious than others; it's like disrespecting the school itself..." He handed the history of hogwarts book to Elsbeth, frowning. He had cooled down, thankfully, and now he could think straight. Hogwarts was certainly becoming a strange place...

Elsbeth took the book from the librarian's outstrectched hand, and looked through the pages. She spoke as did so, "Yes, that is rather odd."
Placing it down on the pile nearest her, she proposed a safety measure. "It might be a good idea to set up some monitoring charms in the library, and charms on the books to keep them from having any more pages ripped out. With some diligence I'm sure we can catch the culprit."

"Mm. And the sleep with one eye open spell will work well, I assume..." He nodded. Then, a look came over his face that was a mix of confusion and thoughtfulness.
"What if the pages ripped out had significance with one another?"

Elsbeth smiled, optimistic that they could figure this out. "Maybe you should take some time to sit down with all these books and make a list of which books are missing pages, and what they're about."
She nodded, trusting her next words. "Maybe we'll find a pattern somewhere."

Daviv nodded. "I'm going to be busy... Oh well. It's for a good cause. Well," he stood up, "If there isn't anything else we need to discuss, I'll be off." He waited, in case Elsbeth had anything else she wanted to tell him.
(Are there any specific books you want me to include?)

"That's all, Daviv." she said quietly. "We'll figure this out soon."

"Yes, we will. Thank you for your time." Daviv nodded, scooped up the books, and walked off.
