A predator in the backyard

He continued his approuch to the room here he was told that he might find the head mistress. Each step seemed percise and careful, as if he was cautious of all his surroundings. His footsteps were dulled and shut off from all noise. Those who noticed this tall man saw that he was garbed in professor clothing but wore more clothing to cover his skin, his hood was placed over his head to cover it but was unable to shield his mouth or eyes.

He was moving down the halls so swiftly and silently that if those who saw him were in their rooms or did not see him pass them, would never would have even known he was there.

He raised his large left hand up and impacted it with the door. A large knocking echoed from the metal and in the area where he stood. He waited for a response.

Elsbeth, as had been the norm since the attacks, was swamped with parchments and quills and other such writing utensils, no space free on her desk for even a mug of coffee or shot of firewhiskey.

Startled as a knock sounded at the door, Elsbeth quickly put down the parchment she had been reading and called out to her visitor, "Yes, come in!"

Redic entered in silence and looked around the room. Memories began to flourish within his mind. Past events that he both hated and at times enjoyed being in this room. The past Head master was someone he respected as well as loathed.

He looked at the current Head Mistress and nodded to her as she came into view.

"I come to speak with you concerning an issue I encountered before we first met in the Hospital Wing." He said to her. His eyes were studying her and thoughts swirled into his head.

I wonder if this one is ready to know what lerks nearby

Perhaps she already knows... Head masters and mistresses seem to know everything that happen near the school.

Just what Hogwarts really needed... a deputy Knight... He then shrugged that thought aside and smirked waiting for her response.

Elsbeth was a bit taken aback by the man's straightforwardness, but answered politely, nonetheless. "Thank you Professor Silizar, please have a seat." she said, as she waved to the chair opposite her and her desk.

"Now, what is this about an encounter prior to your arrival at Hogwarts?"

[Redic Silizar]

He nodded and took a seat at the desk. His eyes looked to hers and he removed his hood again. His bald black head exposed to the verse.

"Well.. when I arrived here I noticed a flare of some sort that someone set off. I decided to look into it and spotted a man in danger. Later on I learned that this was your previous Deputy and previous head of Slytherin."

He stopped for a moment then spoke.

"You wouldn't have Hot Chocolate by any chance? I am rather parshed."

"That is rather odd," Elsbeth said, taking in what her newest professor had said. "My previous deputy was a highly capable man; it must have been a terrible situation for him to set off a flare."

She thought for a bit, then acknowledged the man's question. "Yes, I do, how presumptious of you to ask." It was somewhat forward of Redic to ask in such a way, assuming she had the beverage and that she would give him some.

With a swish of her wand, the mugs and carrafe of hot chocolate that she kept on a small table on the other side of her office came soaring through the air. The carrafe magically poured the steaming liquid into both mugs as they were set down on the desk in front of them.

"Please, enjoy."

"Please, enjoy."

He looked at his mug that held the liquid that he requested. It was the one thing that he enjoyed in his youth when he always had to come into this room in the past. He smelled the liquid carefully as if he was savoring the scent for a while. He took the cup into his hands and slowly took a sip from it. It was heavenly as it entered his mouth and went warmly down his throat, nectar of the gods as he would see it.

"It has been a long while since I had this that tasted as well as this does." He looked at his mug once again then back to the head mistress. "I'm glad to see some things in Hogwarts hasn't changed since my enrollment here in the past." He said to her in a neutral tone. He took another sip and sighed under his breath. "Delicious."

Elsbeth waited patiently before pressing the issue, taking a small sip of her own hot cocoa, but very uninterested in the bevarage.

"Is there anything else you can tell me about this encounter?" she asked, genuinely concerned. "If it has anything to do with the attacks on the school, maybe we should share this information with the Aurors as soon as possible."

Redic leaned back in his chair sipping the nectar slowly.

"Typical, I guess I can't take my time here and enjoy even the simpliest of luxieries. Very well might as well inform her of my findings..." He thought coldly to himself.

He leaned forward in his chair towards the head mistress calmly and placed his mug onto the table slowly.

"I arrived on the scene where the previous deputy was lying on the ground. His opponent had the upper advantage. The previous deputy by the looks of the encounter was caught off guard and wound up defenseless against it's sneak attack." He began to describe the encounter in full detail but remained keeping the attacker anominous for the time being. He wanted to build a little suspense to see her reaction.

"I saw that he required aid. Especially against a being such as this one. It seemed determined to kill him for what ends and means I do not know. I arrived in time before it was ready and posed to attack him. I casted a blast curse on it's tail. From the spell it retreated and left us be."

He picked up the mug and took another sip.

"I believe it took off back into the forbidden forest. I do not know what it is doing there but I think this might be a part of what occured here at Hogwarts. Something big seems to be unravelling here and that beast's presence is most odd, especially for the creatures of the forbidden forest. It was a foreigner here. A most deadly one."

OOC: I know... Redic is an ass.

Elsbeth paid close attention to what Redic was saying. She felt a bit uncomfortable, from his avoidance of naming the creature that had attacked Orynn, and felt a little frustrated, too.

"Yes, that's quite interesting..." she said, and added a quick, "But what was it that attacked him?"

[Redic Silizar]

Redic nods calmly his face not showing any form of emotion in this entire conversation. He took another sip from his cup again seeming to savor it's contents.

"Very well. It was a very deadly beast, one that even the greatest of wizards would have a very disturbing time trying to slay. One that's skin would reflect spells. Luckly mine was not reflected. As well as I and the deputy was lucky it was easy to scare off." He stopped again and looked at his cup.

"Half full... or is it half empty? A shame. I was enjoying this cup...." He thought to himself. He seemed to be lost for a few moments before looking up again.

"Ah yes. Well to make it frank. I encountered the Manticore attacking the deputy of course." He then took a sip while looking at her.

Elsbeth nodded, half not paying attention until the man informed her of what the creature really was. With a start, she practically screamed, "A Manticore?! There was a Manticore on school grounds and you only just deemed it necessary to inform me?"

"And what, pray tell, do you think I should do about this?"

[Redic Silizar]

He simply shruged.

" A manticore is indeed a dangerous creature. But it is an intelligent creature. It would not be here to simply admire the view of Hogwarts. It has motives of being here yet I do not know what. If you wish to get rid of it killing it would seem the more dangerous and deadly course of action... Perhaps negotiations, I wouldn't know." He said showing no emotion.


" I took the position for History of Magic for a reason Head Mistress. Knowledge is power. I admit this Manticore being so close to this school has me intrieged. There is something amist here. I wish to find out what conspires here. There seems to be enemies lerking about in Hogwarts,besides you had your hands busy inside the schools as well as dealing with the injured people. Would have wanted this news brought to light now or would you wish to settle down from the endevor of the attack?" He asked.

"As for our course of action. As far as I know we have Aurors here in the building. They might have something to help out this problem, or they might not..." He said and looked at her as he took another sip.

Elsbeth held on to her own mug of hot cocoa, tightly ringing her hands around it in frustration and worry. She watched the professor as he spoke, noting his lack of emotion as he spoke, and tucking that knowledge aside for another time. Now was not the appropriate time to point out flaws in her staff, surely.

"Very well, then. she said, with a slight nod, "I'll speak with the Aurors as soon as possibe, and inform them of what you've told me. Would it be alright with you if I point them in your direction if they need further information?"

Redic leaned back again.

"I don't mind giving out information. As I said earlier my reasons for being here were to spread knowledge." He said a took another sip from his cup.

"Like I said earlier though this might be a small piece of the puzzle. This Manticore that resides nearby is intelligent, normally they would never dare to come this close to the school unless someone or something drawn it here."

He looks about the room then back at the Head mistress.

"If I didn't know any better I would suspect this to be an inside job within the school... Since the children are still learning I would think some one within the faculty..."

He then sips his last inch of hot Chocolate.

"Then again this is just me speculating I suppose." He then sighed, an act that seemed to be the first nearby the head mistress.
