Willem walked outside carrying 'Hogwarts: A History.' He looked around for a bench or a thick clump of grass he could sit on. Soon he found better: an oak tree with lots of branches close to the ground. Willem grinned.
Perfect! A nice place all to my own.
Even better then he had hoped. He immediately started to climb up the tree. Willem quickly found a high perch overlooking the door and part of the school grounds. He grinned again and started to read.

Rose, who had been out walking in Hogwarts grounds when she saw a young boy climb up a tree. She smiled, then walked over to the tree and looked up, "Hello" she said, hoping she could make a new friend.
She peered up the tree, she could still see him. He seemed awful high up.

Willem thought he heard something off in the distance. He cocked his head to one side and started listening. At that exact moment he took his hand off of the branch he had been holding on to. "Oops!" He dropped his book; it fell crashing down toward the ground. When it landed the spine ripped and it broke in two. That could have been my spine! He kept falling from branch to branch, each time grabbing onto a different branch then slipping. This happened over and over until he finally fell off the last branch, landing on his arm. Pain shot up through his arm. After a while he finally saw a girl. Aha! This must have been the sound I heard. The girl talking to me."Um. . . hi."

Rose's eyes widened as she saw the boy fall from the tree, grabbing onto each branch and slipping, until he fell on the ground. "Oh my gosh I'm so sorry, I didn't think you'd fall!" exclaimed Rose. She crouched down beside him. "Are you ok?" she asked concerned.
She certainly hadn't expected him to fall down the tree, she glanced over at the book, which had broken in two. She then looked at his arm, which he had landed on, "Is it broken?" she asked.

"It's okay, don't quite know if I'm okay though."
Willem said, holding up his arm so she could see the cut starting just behind his wrist and going almost to his elbow.
"It doesn't hurt that much." Then he looked over at his book.
"My book wasn't as lucky as me," He commented as he pulled out his wand and aimed it at his book. "Reparo." The book immediately fixed itself.
"Wait, I don't think I have introduced myself. Willem Chase." He said holding out his uninjured hand. "Who are you?"
If Willem's cut still hurt he didn't show any sign of pain.

Rose glanced at Willems arm, which was cut, then back to him, "My name's Rosalind Burke, Rose for short" she said smiling slightly, she shook his hand.
"Sorry again" she said. "Are you a first year too?" she asked.

"Pleased to meet you Rosli- er Rose. And yeah I'm a first year." He said, smiling broadly. ]"You a Gryffindor? Or is it Hufflepuff?" He asked still, smiling.
"I'm a Ravenclaw. Hey, want to see something cool?"
Willem aimed his wand at his book and said "Suppono Res Rei." The book's cover immediately changed colors from brown to bright orange. He picked it up, and again pointed his wand at it. "Suppono Res Rei." This time the words, 'Hogwarts, A History' changed to a dark blue. "See, now it's much cooler." He said, holding out the book so that she could see the front cover.
