Aesir stood proudly with his latest prototype broom. It had taken a better part of the year to come up with the proper schematics, let alone the right parts and equipment to construct it, but there it was. He'd taken inspiration from one of his first classes at Hogwarts; the stupid git who'd broken his nose while trying to 'skateboard' with a broom.
Moron. The problem is that it ain't meant ter support that type of weight distribution, let alone balance it. There is no way it can correct it, except to slip out beneath you like a banana peel. The problem is that brooms push down onto the floor to go up. What the broom needs is to have a certain degree of pull; enough to allow it to float a certain height an give it an air cushion, without draggin' ye into the ground and toss ye off. Make the base flatter an wider, much more like a board used fer goin' downhill. Add some straps an' voila. Simple, really.
So there he was, goggles and winter gear, staring out into the wintery landscape of Hogwarts. Despite the protests of his frind and colleague Syhinad, he was going to go through with the test. Without any real mountains around, it left only one place for him to test it.
The roofs.
