Kel wandered down the corridor, zig-zagging across from door to door, looking for one that a) had a nameplate or b) was open as she tried to find Professor Winter's office. She had found a few open doors, a hidden, hinged panel behind a tapestry and a large window-like door that opened onto a balcony, but so far no offices. Turning yet again away from a closed door, Kel spotted a wide open one. She went over a peeked in.
{I don't actually know for sure whether she's in her office, but I did say the door was open, so. . .}

Aesir's chuckle can be heard before she peeks inside.
As she does so, she can see Aesir and Zea in a full lip lock and his arms wrapped around her lower waist.

Kel pulls her head back and evaluates her situation. She tiptoes back down the corridor a ways, then walks along it as loudly as she can, humming a boisterous song moderately loudly, so that it didn't seem like she was announcing her presence, but she still was. She opened a couple of doors, making sure not to be as catlike and quiet as she was before. She arrived back at the door and knocked on the doorjamb.

What the hell all that racket?
Probably some student wandering by the door.
Jeeze, turn it down a bit.
You could close the door.
Yeah I could.
Aesir stopped kissing Zea.
Come again.
Aesir looked to the doorway. The door was wide open.
Well *expletive deleted*!
Quickly, he pulled back and began to laugh.
"So yeah! I'll see you later then?"
He managed to just finish the phrase as Kel appeared in the doorway knocking.
"Oh, you seem to have a visitor! I'll see you later then!"
Smooth recovery.
That was close.

Kel was relieved when she looked in for the second time and saw that her two professors had separated themselves, and that Aesir appeared to be leaving. She grinned a friendly grin at the Flying Instructor as he passed her through the doorway, then turned to Zea.
{Erm. . . since Zea hasn't actually posted, I guess I'll just wait for her. . . maybe I should PM her to let her know.}

[Sorry, totally here, I've been AFK with homework coming out my ears for the past few days (and amusingly enough, mostly drawing homework)... but I oughta be back full-time this week.]
Zea looked rather flushed, but tried her best to recover her composure.
"Yeah, we'll catch up with each other soon," she said, and waved at Keladry. "Come on in, what can I do for you? You're not a Ravenclaw, are you?"

Kel came into the room and plopped onto the couch, immediately sensing that this was an extremely nice teacher. Professor Longbottom had steered her well, even if she was just looking for a good incantation to make her tree move realistically.
In reply to Zea's question/comment, Kel said "No, I'm not. I'm a Hufflepuff, Keladry Lindenshield." She smiled at Professor Winters.

"Ah, okay, that's why I haven't seen you around. I wouldn't get you until at least third year anyway," she grinned. "What can I do for you?"

Kel opened her bag, which had been slung over her shoulder. She pulled out her binder, wand and a pencil as she explained her presence to Zea.
"Well, I drew this picture, you see, and I wanted to animate it; make it move like a real tree would: bend in the wind, rustle its leaves and so forth. So I went to Professor Longbottom to see if he had anything to offer, and 'cuz I just wanted to have an excuse to visit him.
"So anyway, I went to see him and he told me that all I really needed was a specific incantation to make it move correctly. He told me to come to you to get the proper latin, so here I am!" Kel finished, laying out her things, then opened the cover of her binder.,She pulled out a pencil drawing of a tree, with a small bird in one corner, grass waving at the bottom and small wispy clouds permeating the sky.

"Hmm, well, I ought to be able to help with that. The library has some excellent Latin dictionaries that ought to help you, but let's see if we can't get you started."
"Did he figure out a main incantation for you? I'm afraid I'm not very artsy, so it might take me a little referencing to come up with something that relates."

"Well, he started out with a picture of a cat, and said 'Locomotor Tractem' to make it move. Then he used 'Locomotor Tractem Cauda,' then 'Locomotor Tractem Felis,' and that made the whole sketch move realistically. So, since I dunno what the right word for 'tree' or 'bird or whatever else you should use, he said to come to you."
Kel finished laying her things out, then, as an afterthought, pulled out one of the books she used for note-taking in class. She had a separate book for Transfiguration, Charms, DADA, Herbology and all her other classes, but she had a few left over from the large pack they had come in, and she grabbed one of these, along with the pencil she always had tucked behind her ear, in a messy bun, dangling from her fingers, up her sleeve, in a hidden pocket in her robes or in mysterious other places on her person.
She always had a few pencils, some stubs, boundless paper and her wand, either on her person or in her bag, which she almost never went anywhere without. Usually she had charcoal, quills, ink(pots), a good book, odds and ends she jammed in, her leather-bound journal, a few textbooks, a wide-brimmed hat, waterproof cloak, gloves, extra socks, two or more handkerchiefs, a bag of hairties and doodads, and things that used to be useful, but that even Kel, who, if she could use something in any way, shape or form, would stick it into her seemingly endless bag, couldn't think of anything she could use it for.
Kel opened the book, which had never been written in, and wrote Latin for animation at the top. She looked back up at Zea eagerly.

"Hmm. This might be trickier than I thought for someone without a very firm grasp of Latin. Especially if you need to use specific words for each object. There must be another way to do it."
Zea stepped behind her desk to one of the bookshelves, and opened the glass door. From it she pulled a scroll, and a heavy, leather-bound book that looked extremely worn. She placed it on her desk, and pulled a pair of cotton gloves from her drawer.
"This book is positively ancient, the very oils on your skin can cause a page to deteriorate. That's why I'm wearing gloves. It's about five hundred years old, even."
She gently opened the text, and began flipping through pages.
"Hmm. I think the word you're looking for is animus, which can mean either "animate" or "nature". It might be more difficult if you're rendering something Muggle, or, conversely, Wizard, as neither fall into the category of "natural". As long as your artistic rendering is accurate, it should work."
She turned a few more pages.
"Aha, as I thought. For artificial or man-made things, such as clothing or buildings or cars, use facticius. For magical things, veneficus. And lastly, for people, use alio." "So the incantation would be either:
Locomotor Tractem Animus Locomotor Tractem Facticius Locomotor Tractem Veneficus or Locomotor Tractem Alio."
"Got it?"

Kel was quickly scribbling all of this down. Once she had it all, she looked up and beamed.
"Got it. Thank you so, so much!" Kel almost squealed, but managed to restrain herself.
"Uh. . . do you mind if I try it right now?" Kel asked, because she wasn't sure she would be able to make it to the library, or the common room, before she needed to try it. She couldn't wait to see if it would work!!!

"Sure. That might be a good idea, considering if it turns out I've concocted some sort of spell that makes the paper explode into dragons, I'm the one who will get in trouble."
She put back her book and took off her gloves.

Kel nodded, then turned to her paper, excited, nervous and slightly hyper. She plucked up her wand, aimed it carefully at her precious drawing, then firmly commanded it "Locomotor Tractem Animus." as she she concentrated on the grey pencil lines of her masterpiece twisting and swaying as if it were a real tree or bird. The pale streak of magic touched down onto her paper, soaking into it like it was sand, quickly sinking away from sight, infusing the drawing with a barely perceptible light as the lines twitched. At first, Kel thought it hadn't worked, and raised her wand to try again, but then the lines began to move in a rhythm, and a branch slowly shook, as though it were shaking off sleep, stretching its limbs after a long snooze. It began to languidly move, looking like a slow-flowing stream as it settled into tree-ness. An invisible breeze ruffled the feathers of the small bird, who flapped its wings, stopping its plummeting flight, and gained altitude.
Kel stared in wonder at the small piece of the world she had created. Maybe it wasn't perfect, and maybe the movements weren't exact, but she stared at it, spellbound. {No pun intended.}
She looked back up at Zea, her eyes shining. She resisted the urge to throw her arms around her, instead beaming as though the professor had just brought someone back to life.
"Thank you so, so, so, so much! Would you like a drawing? Oh, I can just imagine the possibilities of the things I can draw and then animate. . . I've got an idea for a wonderful ballerina. . ." Kel's face was radiant, a wide, blissful smile on her face.
