Dónall smiled at Alora as he danced, and listened to her advice on his moves. He eased up on the dancing, a bit, and in time he set into a good rythm, moving just right. He was a quick learner.
He yelled over the music, "This isn't as bad as I thought!"

Elsbeth looked back at the Librarian, giving a broad smile in return. "Yes, quite the party indeed. Have you seen the Slytherin and the Ravenclaw dancing?" she asked, pointing in Dónall Kennedy and Alora Jannings' direction. "Also, there's a dancing duel of sorts over there," she said with another gesture of her hand, "between a Pirate and a ninja, 6th year Ravenclaw and 1st year Gryffindor."
"Wonderful, eh? Everyone seems to be getting along." she paused and turned her attention back to the stage. "And the music is wicked, too. I owe that to our flying instructor, but I haven't seen him all night..."

"Yes, I have." He nodded, meaning to both.
"It is. It makes me regret not learning how to play an instrument." He sighed mentally.
"Do you know who's winning the dance off?" He asked Elsbeth, curious to see who would win. A pirate or a ninja... He had seen both on his extensive travels, but couldn't recall at the moment.

"No, unfortunately, I haven't gotten close enough to see any results; I fear if I got too close my presence might hinder the dancing. Being a figure of authority and all," she said with a chuckle.
She smiled briefly then turned her attention back to the stage. She didn't walk off just yet, in case he still wanted to converse.

"Mm. Stop by in the library once in a while. Nobody ever goes there anymore." He said with a slight shrug. He didn't mind quiet reading, but all the time? It just didn't fare well for him. Even Mercury has been wandering off occasionally.

"Yes," she said, nodding, "I have been meaning to drop by to check out the latest editions of some Potions tomes you recieved the other day"
"I'll see you around, hm? I'm going to walk around a bit more."
And with that Elsbeth turned around and began another tour of the Ball, watching students as she went along, further from the stage. She stole one more glance at the mysterious dark haired man playing the bass, then gave him no further notice.

Mary's jaw simply dropped when Stevie did the worm.
Blimey, there's no way I can beat that. Oh, to be a first year again...
...It's a good thing pirates aren't exactly the most honorables fighters...
She grinned at Stevie evilly, and exclaimed: "Yarrrr! I think it's time to call fer backup!"
Mary moved to one of the sides of the circle of watchers and grabbed Lilianne's hand, dragging the surprised girl with her in the middle of the circle. She then lead the Gryffindor in a mix of tango and swing.
Lilianne was at first positively terrified at being dragged by force like that into the spotlight, and she wasn't cooperating much with Mary, who had to practically force her to move, but as it went on and she heard the cheering and laughing crowd, she started to loosen up a bit, and tried to follow Mary's lead, though clumsily and shyly.

Stevie frowned.
"No fair! There aren't any other ninjas here..." He looked around to make sure. Nope. None. He had to think of something, and quick...
But he didn't. All he did was pick up the 'dagger' and poke Mary repeatedly with it.

When Stevie started poking her, Mary took out her fake sword to gently fight him some.
Lilianne took advantage in the shift of attention to run back into the crowd, having had more spotlight time that she was ready to handle.
"My crew! They be jumping ship! Well a cap'n sinks with her ship! Have at ye!" She fought on, but she was clearly getting out of breath, and she finally decided she couldn't handle it anymore, and she threw herself on her back.
"Aright! I yield! I yield! Ye sneaky scurvy dog!" She yelled, letting go of her sword.
The crowd cheered for the victorious Ninja.

"Woo!" Stevie jumped around, spinning as he did so, picking up the pirate's sword in the process. He was tempted, oh so temped, to hop of a table and stage dive off of the table. But he would surely get in trouble. So, he simply spun a bit, then the sugar's effects started to wear off. He used the pirate's sword to serve himself a cookie, and it worked. He walked into the crowd, quickly and sneakily giving the sword to Lilianne on his way to 'get some pumpkin juice'. He did, though, it was strangely good.

"Congratulations, Stevie, you're a great dancer!" Lilianne said as she took the sword. She then went to check on Mary, who was still laying down in the floor, trying to catch her breath as she laughed heartily.
The circle progressively disbanded as people started dancing in small groups again.

At some point in time (though somewhat earlier than expected) Althea finds Nicholas in the crowd. "I'm going to bed, shall I leave Vincent and Isabelle with you? Or shall I take them with me when I put Edward to bed?" Althea looked tiered and fed up of the party. "I'm not feeling 100%"

"Your dancing isn't as bad as I thought either." She yelled back, with a slight grin.
Alora was quite glad that they had sort of settled their differences, although it was rather thrilling having someone to argue with all the time. Hopefully it wasn't just a one off, the whole being nice thing, she could get used to this.

Don spent the rest of his time dancing, not speaking to Alora, and trying to just enjoy himself. He never gave nay thought to enjoying himself at Balls and whatnot, but this year, along with his changes in other areas, having fun wouldn't be so bad, either.
He thought to himself. 'This isn't so bad, really. Dancing, having fun. And neither's doing it all with this girl...' Shaking his head, he changed his thought processes. 'Na... Nothing to do with her. This is just entertaining.'
...Or so he liked to think.
