Stevie Copeland walked along the crowded streets, not really noticing anybody. He was really noticing all of the shops. He had a couple of cases with him, just in case he bought a lot. He wasn't aware of HOW he could carry all of these, filled with things. Maybe he'd get lucky. Ah well.
There were a lot of shops. Too many, if you asked Stevie. He thought that there were many unnecessary ones, but he was just entering the school.
He looked flustered. How many shops were there? Fifty and a half? It wouldn't surprise him. He sighed, and walked along, lugging his cases along behind him. How strange he must look. He wondered if anyone was snickering at him behind his back. For all he knew, they were. He didn't even know who THEY were! BUt, of course, his mother had to worry and give him PLENTY of cases. He didn't need PLENTY of cases, he needed to be able to WALK.
Normally, he would explore these shops, inside out. He couldn't, now. All he could do was buy whatever he needed and then he wanted to just get out of there. Luckily, he had enough money. That was always a help.
His arms were starting to tire, he lugged two large suitcases in each hand, and he frequently had to move around for people. Why couldn't THEY just move? He looked around and spotted an empty corner, away from the bustling of people. His parents didn't expect him back at any particular time, so maybe he should just rest here a bit. Flinging his cases on top of one another, Stevie hopped up on them and sat, looking around at his surroundings. People everywhere, constantly moving. Too many shops to count... This place was too big for Stevie. Or was it too small, with all of the people crowding through the way? Stevie didn't know. So, he sat there, on his cases, and rested his head on his palm, simply looking around.

Marian Bennet crossed off items on her shopping list. Personally, she thought shopping lists were only for old ladies, but Meri’s mum had demanded that she keep a list, and also tally up how much she spent at each shop. Meri groaned inwardly as she tried to do the math of how much she had spent at Stationers, where she had stocked up on a good amount of parchment and ink for the new school year. Each time Meri’s arms had gotten weighed down with parcels she had stopped by The Leaky Caldron, where her dad was having a few drinks, and she left the items with him to guard. It was a good system, it kept her arms from getting tired, but admittedly, it was a pain to keep walking back to The Leaky Caldron.
Raised in the Wizarding World, Meri knew Diagon Ally like the back of her hand. Everytime her family had needed something for the household this is where they came whether it be robes from Twillfit and Tatting's, (which was her mum’s preferred store,) or a restock on some potion ingredients from the Apothecary, or basically anything magical you could think of. Meri scanned her list to figure out what shop she needed to head to next. After a few minutes of weighing priorities Meri decided Quality Quidditch Supplies was definitely where she needed to go, (although naturally it wasn’t.)
The sun was high and shined on Meri’s brown hair, which she hadn’t spent too much time on, merely putting it up in a ponytail so it’d be out of her way. Meri scanned the cobbled road, searching for the blessed place that sold all the Quidditch supplies a person could want. It was a busy day, even by Diagon Ally standards, Meri noted, as she weaved through the crowd, trying to avoid tall people bumping into her. She made her way to the side of the road, deciding it was most likely safer.
When Meri first passed the empty corner it didn’t register in her brain that there was a boy sitting there, sitting on two suitcases actually. It wasn’t until she had gone a few steps past him she really realized. Her first thought was that the boy didn’t have anything to do with her, so she didn’t need to bother to see if he was lost and such, but curiosity got the better of her. Meri turned on her heel, and casually walked back his way. “Hey you,” Meri greeted, when she was in close distance. Teasingly, she kicked the bottom suitcase slightly, trying make it wobble. “What are you doing all alone?”

Stevie blinked at the girl, who asked him a question.
"Oh." He hopped off of his two suitcases, accidentally spilling the other two onto the ground. Stevie didn't notice or care. All he really noticed was how much older she was than him.
"I have to lug four cases, and I don't even know what I have to get!" He didn't even elaborate on where he was going and what he needed to GO there, he figured she might know he was going to Hogwarts. And plus, his young age must mean that he would be in his first year, which he was.
"Now, I'm just resting, and thinking what I might need to get." He looked around the shops, blinking as he did so, and mumbled something under his breath. The only thing audible would be 'guitar', but everything else was inaudible.

Ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous; a X-J Cumulo Nimbus at only 50 galleons? 50 galleons!? What a sham! That flimsy piece of tinder twig could barely support the idea of capable flight, let alone a human body! What were they thinking for selling it that cheaply!?
Still rather infuriated by the visit to the Broom store, Aesir marched through the crowd angrily, more than once illiciting a cry of surprise as he accidentally bumped into someone. Their objections to his rude behaviour were quickly stopped with a single baleful glare as he continued his way down the Alley.
After a short while, his stomach got the best of him; it was giving him a stern lecture on how to properly take care of it. He unslung his broom from his back beside two young people who were currently talking.
"Now, I'm just resting, and thinking what I might need to get." He looked around the shops, blinking as he did so, and mumbled something under his breath. The only thing audible would be 'guitar', but everything else was inaudible.
Sitting on it like a park bench, he fished out a sandwhich from his bag as his thoughts meandered down memory lane, seeking out the comfort of that woman he encountered earlier.
Ah yes. Good ol' Elsby. She was definately a creature of beauty
And curves. He grinned somewhat, remembering her.
"Whatever 'tis ye might be thinkin' ah gettin', be keeping yer keister a ways away from any of the brooms on sale by the Nimbus Co., they're none but a bunch ah shoddy pieces of cowpat kept together by ant spit." he managed loudly enough for the two young people to hear him. He took a large bite from his sandwhich as he sat on his hovering broom.
Now this broom, this is a piece of art.
He gently kept one hand at the head of the broom as he leaned slightly. It was definately a state of the art broom, built for speed, maneuvarability, durable yet light enough to dance in the wind, it was a piece of master crafstmanship. Years of blood, sweat, and tears.
Not that I'd ever admit to crying when buiding it.
He smiled, correcting himself.
Not unless she was really gorgeous.
He thought of Elsbeth, considering the possibilities.

"That's the problem." Stevie turned to the man, now floating on his broom. He thought that was definitely cool, he would HAVE to learn how to do that.
"I don't know what I have to get." Stevie said with a slight sigh. Maybe this guy would know what he had to get. Wouldn't THAT be one awesome coincidence.

The first thing Meri noticed about the boy was that when he stood he was shorter than her. Naturally this pleased her, as she was used to being short one, and she decided off this bit of information that he was an okay guy. The second thing was that the boy, who had yet to introduce himself actually, blinked a lot. Like really a lot. Meri figured abnormal blinking was a sure sign that this boy was confused, and the fact he was shorter than her made her more than sure that he was confused about starting his first year at Hogwarts. And apparently, he was confused about what to buy for Hogwarts. Meri smirked to herself, sharing a private joke, as she thought about when she started her first year. The fact that she had been raised by Wizard kind didn’t do her much good, the panic was definitely still there.
Meri felt excited to have the chance to help this boy, it was nice to have someone depend on you sometimes. Her dreams were crushed when a man walked on the scene, ranting about broomsticks, and the boy at once retold his problems. Meri crossed her arms, disapprovingly, and gave the boy a slightly dark look through her brown eyes, and then went on to turn and greet the man more warmly. “Hello sir,” Meri chimed, trying her best to keep the disappointment out of her voice. It wasn’t easy for her to stay crushed about it not helping the boy, considering this man was talking about brooms, and she would actually enjoy his company. “What were you talking about?”

Stevie tilted his head slightly, catching the dark look.
"What'd I do?" Was his question. He soon dropped it, and continued to stare at the fifty-and-a-half stores. Who would NEED all of these things? How would someone be able to CARRY all of these things? Certainly not him, stupid four suitcases. He'd need someone, no, maybe two people, to help him. How was he going to get all of his shopping done? Unless these people helped him, it would be downright impossible for him, especially with how many people were scurrying about in the streets.

With barely imperceptible movements, he wheeled the floating broom around to face them, making it look as though the broom almost turned on it's own will. He finished greedily taking another bite of the sandwhich before he started half speaking and half chewing angrily.
"I was just talkin' 'bout the latest broom model. It's like flying a fish out of the water; no stability, it's flopping around and it stinks. They just never make 'em like they used ter." he said, mildly ranting. He kept looking out to the crowd, looking at the river of constant motion. He turned his gaze back to Stevie. "And the only thing you could have done wrong lad, is if ye actually bought the thing."

Marian pretended to not hear the boy’s question, not feeling quite like explaining her dark look, that wasn’t exactly even provoked. Instead she waited for the man with red hair to reply. When he spoke he did so with his mouth full, and with a distinct accent. Meri automatically took a few steps away from him, worried about chucks of food being sprayed on her. The Gryffindor was torn between staring at the man reproachfully or giggling at his behavior. Despite her attempts to keep quiet she gave into the later. Quickly, she tried to turn her giggles into coughing, and honestly did a rather bad job.
“So what exactly do you need?” Meri said quickly to the boy, after she had regained control of herself.

"...Erm... Everything for a first year at Hogwarts?" He really DID need everything, and he meant EVERYTHING. But, he didn't know what exactly everything was. Maybe these people might know. How awesome would that be!
"Do you think I'll need all four of these?" He motioned towards his suitcases. He hoped he wouldn't, how would he be able to carry all of those and a guitar, including his clothes and other things? He thought it would be downright impossible. He could always hope...

How the bloody hell should I know? Not like I ever been to the ruttin' place.
Aesir shrugged, swallowing a large mouthful of sandwhich. "I s'pose it's better ter be safe than sorry. Better ter have too much, than not 'nuff, ye know?" he said rather non-chalantly. He was gonna have to learn as much as possible about Hogwarts when he got there. The last thing he needed was to look like an idiot in front of a bunch of snot-nosed kids.
Last thing I wanna do is look like a retarded Squib.

“Mm,” Meri murmured as she thought, trying to figure out how to help the boy. One finger played with a stray lock of her hair, twisting and untwisting and she searched her mind. ” I know there’s a spell that increases like the size captivity of an item…” Meri said slowly, trying to remember what she had heard during her lessons about it. Shaking her head, a sign of defeat, she said, “I’m only going to be a 5th year at Hogwarts though. I’m not sure what the incantation is, or how to do it exactly.” She glanced sideways at the man, “Maybe he does though, he’s an adult, after all” She added, not realizing the man in fact did not.

Stevie shrugged, and sighed, turning a quick glance to Aesir. "You're right." He turned back to Marian. "Oh, before I forget, what's your name? Mine's Stevie Copeland." He did think it was a change of topics, and a strange one at that, but meh. It would be best to say names and get it over with, so that they might see eachother in the future and know each others names. After this, he thought, he better get shopping. He should, at least, be home in time for dinner. And with all of these shops, he may just have to hurry. Oh well. He could always say that he needed help with what he needed. Which was true.
