The class was completely barren save for the fire that roared in the back of the room. There was no indication that the Professor had arrived yet, but the doors to the classroom were unlocked.

Lilianne arrived first at the class. She did a double-take once she realized the class was empty, but after a look-around to make sure she was in the right class,
She dropped her bag on the nearest desk and took out her schedule. Confirming she had transfiguration on this timeslot, she checked her watch and realized she was rather early.
As she was the first in class, she decided to pick a seat in the second row. She usually doesn't mind being on the front row, but the transfiguration professor was rather intimidating...
She took a seat and took her book, parchment and quills out of her bag.
Sitting alone in the classroom and staring at the fire, she remembered the quite scary duel between Novim and Lannsman, and started doodling absentmindedly on a piece of parchment, not noticing the first few students coming in.

Kel breezed into Transfiguration class, happy and bright. She swung her bag off her shoulder and onto one of the desks in the second row, then stopped, realizing for the first time that there was another person in the room. She looked up to the dais, but there was no professor there. Kel frowned, then turned to the girl. She had already met her in DADA class, so she smiled, saying; "Hello again! I wonder where Professor Novim could be."
The cheerful Hufflepuff produced her notebook, ink and quill from the yellow bag sitting on her desk, placing them deftly where she liked them, then stashing her bag underneath her chair. She then pulled a small, soft-lead pencil from in her light summer robes' sleeve, opened the book and resumed work on the tree lying therein.

Most, if not all the students had arrived, and were now seated in class. The time ticked away, and still no professor. Finally, a loud boom sounded from the doors as they were pushed open enough to let a human body in. Orynn walked inside, looking extremely cross. He held a cane in his left hand, using it to walk his way towards the back of the room. He made eye-contact with his students, and did not return their waves or hello's in anyway. He finally spun around to face his students. Both of his hands on his cane, which he poised in front of him. "Last class we learned about the different ways to cast spells. The traditional fashion being with wand and voicing the incantation. The second being without the later, and the last being voiceless and without a wand. Today I intend to demonstrate the difference between the three as best I can. Before we begin are there any questions?" He quickly raised his cane and brought it hard back onto the ground, the noise echoing in the room and catching some students off guard. "Good. Wands away." Apparently, the Deputy was in no mood to answer questions. He stepped down from his podium and urged some students in the first row to get out of there seats. We walked some of the desks, and hit three in a row with his cane as he passed them. They melted, morphed and reformed into some odd contraption which non-muggle students would not recognize. It was moutned on a wooded frame, and looked like a picture. But the "picture" was nothing but large red and white circles, each within the other. The center was a large red circle which, if stared at too long, started to make you feel dizzy. "Please, do get up and move to that end of the class room." With a wave of his arm, the targets were moved to the end of the opposite end of the room. Orynn started to try positioning them so they were all facing straight on.

Kel stared as Professor Orynn tapped the desks, turning them into large flat surfaces with turning circles, one within the other, but seeming to go on forever. Kel started to get queasy as she stared at the moving targets, or so they seemed like, and quickly looked back to the Deputy Headmaster, who was busily waving his wand and rearranging the contraptions so that they faced the class from the other end of the pillared room.
Kel stared, wondering what in the world they were going to be doing with these huge things, if they weren't even going to use their wands.

Orynn finished lining up the targets, so that they were each spaced apart from one another equally. They were facing the groups of students, who were all standing quite awkwardly when Orynn turned around to look at the youngsters. He walked close to them, using his cane to walk, holding his free arm out to give them a barrier.
"Form three lines in front of each device. Quickly, now!"

Lilianne had got up later than the other students, thinking foolishly that Professor Novim's order was directed at the targets instead of them.
She scrambled up after the other students and went into line with them, sticking close to Keladry, who had been nice to her in Defense Against the Dark Arts. She leaned towards her and whispered:
"I wonder what he's up to... Any idea?"

The group of first years formed a line, they weren't perfect, but what was he expecting? Now the first student in line was roughly ten feet away from the target they were aligned with. Orynn moved with his cane, as it thunked on the stone floor every time he took a step, and found three green tennis balls behind his podium. He walked back towards the students. Holding all three in one hand, lifting them up so that the students could see them.
"Imagination is key to any Transfiguration, as you will soon learn. For the time being, pretend that these muggle balls are your wands. The light in this room, is the incantation that you would speak to cast a spell. Now..." He threw a ball to each student who was first in line. One of them being Miss Lindenhield, the others were Miss Alomar and Mr Dedric, both Gryffindors. "...seeing as you have all the components necessary to cast a spell at your level. Please... attempt to throw the ball to the target. Hitting it in the very middle will count as a successful cast."
Orynn smiled and stood out of the way. Waiting patiently.

(OOC: Since Kel hasn't replied in a while and the class is about to end, I'm going to go ahead and take my turn to move it on a bit. If you come back in time Kel, you can post and we'll say you went before me.)
Lilianne took her turn with the ball after Keladry.
Well, this is more like what I'm used to do, easier than real spellcasting...
Let's see... Incantation... wand... And this will be the wand movement I guess.
Lilianne swung her arm back, and pitched the ball hard towards the target.
It hit the center circle and bounced back...
Ohh! I did it! If I can do this maybe I can handle magic after a...
...then it flew straight for the professor's cane, knocking it off.

Orynn had already been in a foul mood, nearly toppling onto his face was not on the days itinerary, he was most certain. The surprise caused him to lose balance momentarily, as his cane left the ground. He bent forward at the hip, and his face scrunched in pain as he had to put a lot of weight on both his feet.
He was able to stand straight up again. And he glared at the student.
"What I would give to know whose face you envisioned at the center of the target, Miss Wesker."

Lilianne was once again petrified, just like in the DADA class, though this time the other students' laughter was short lived, stiffled when they saw the Professor's glare.
"I'm... I'm sorry, Professor. I didn't mean to do it, I swear..." She said, trying to will herself to disapear.

((OOC: Sorry! I'm sorry I didn't post, but I was otherwise occupied. But I'm back now!))
Kel, taking the tennis ball in her hand, drew it back behind her ear and lined her arm up carefully with the center of the odd-looking target. She threw the lightweight ball, keeping her arm lined up. The ball flew through the air with a slight spin, the spin causing it to miss the red dot at the center of the target and instead hit one of the white circles about three stripes outside the center dot.
She sighed, then went back to the back of the line, after retrieving the tennis ball and handing it to Lilianne, who was next.
When Lilianne accidentally knocked Professor Novim's cane out of his hand, she winced, then steeled herself for what would happen to Lilianne. She almost expected him to bite her head off, and wished that she was standing next to the shy Gryffindor, if only to provide moral support.

Orynn did nothing but wave the student away, not having the right mind frame to deal with the situation. If he knew he would be too harsh, or say something he'd regret, he would do nothing. So he grounded his cane again and stood up straight to watch the other students throw their tennis balls.
"Now..." he spoke up when every student had had a go. "Let's try again, and this time without the metaphorical 'incantation.'"
Orynn tapped the cane on the stone floor twice. The light in the room immediately dimmed. Not to the point where you couldn't see two inches in front of your nose, but students first in line definately had to wait a moment before being able to see the targets standing some feet in fron of them on the other side of the classroom.

Kel waited a moment until her eyes were used to the darkness, but realized that she wouldn't be able to see the target well enough to make a good throw. So she called up the image of the target in her mind's eye, then lined her her arm up accordingly. She threw the ball and it bounced off the circle outside the center one. Kel smiled, then retreated once again to the back of the line after smiling encouragingly at Lilianne.

Lilianne felt as if she has just barely avoided disaster. A feeling deep inside your stomach similar to skipping a step but catching yourself before falling down the stairs.
Taking the ball from Keladry, she answered her smile with a nervous grin.
She took her time trying to make out her suroundings to have an idea of where the center of the target was, and took aim. She threw the ball towards the target, but as she was still shaking a bit and was afraid of throwing the ball too hard again, the ball hit the target too low, on the first red circle after the center.
