"It has." Orynn stated plainly as he lowered his pants back down over his leg. He then paused, realizing that, given recent events, he should probably not end his statement there. "Many thanks." He said to Althea, a look of 'oops' on his face.
Orynn was about to drown himself into thoughts that he had experienced the day of the duel, but was interrupted by a familiar rhythm of tapping. Orynn would recognize that sound anyway, and he slowly peered up at a high window, and so a familiar fowl starring down at him. Crescent was always persistent, and very impatient, especially when he had something to deliver to his master. The deputy did not smile at this, and his features seemed to harden, as if frustrated and embarrassed.
"My apologies Doctor, may I let him in?" His tone was edged with annoyance, as he raised his cane to indicate the window and the bird who was now tapping harder and faster. As if it thought it hadn't been noticed already.

Aesir continued storming out of the medical hall, only turning his head to look at the student while storming passed. "I'll be back for ye, so don't go anywhere, lest ye want to stay here for a longer period than ye intended. "I'll be back, Doctor Lannsman!" he said, first pointing his finger at the boy angrily, and yelling the second over his shoulder.
He pushed opened the doors and slammed them in his wake.

Althea looked to the messenger bird impatiently rapping on the window with its beak. "Yes, of course, I'll let him in." She wondered over to the window and cracked it open and felt the shock of cold fall air rush in, as well as the bird to its master.
She looked over her shoulder to the flying instructor who just stormed out, slamming the door behind him. "In the name of Merlin! Why on Earth must everyone slam the door?" She said now more frustrated than before.

Orynn stood, barely paying any head to the red-headed hot-headed boy of a man. If Orynn hadn't known any better, he'd claimed he'd just witnessed a temper tantrum.
Then something happened that very few ever witnessed. It was a shame there were so few to see, as it very rarely happened and was even rarer when in sight. Orynn smiled.
He had gotten up and walked a step or two with his cane, his free arm raised up to act as a perch for his snow-spotted owl. He looked admiringly at his pet.
"Hello Crescent." He said. The bird looking at him and hooting. It shook itself, flapping it's wings to stretch, before it began to walk sideways up the Deputy's arm. Orynn kept looking at it, still smiling, it was almost as if he forgot where he was. When Crescent reached his shoulder, he reached out and untied a piece of parchment that was tied to his talon.
He held it in front of him, and unrolled the relatively small piece of paper. His eyes scanning it closely. His smile vanished as if stolen from his, and his expression changed to one of a man who received extremely ill news. His brows furrowed, as he took out his wand. He flipped the page over and pointed his wand at it. A small red spark flashed at it's tip, but that was all. Having finished writing his reply, Orynn rolled the parchment back the way it had been, and tied it around the same talon of his owl with the same chord.
Looking much more spiteful, Orynn held out the handle of his cane for Crescent to step upon, which he did obediently. Orynn then limped over to the window, lifting his cane high.
"Away." He said commandingly, the owl hooted and flew out the window.
He brought the cane down with a loud thud, which startled the Ravenclaw student in the room. Orynn didn't notice, he seemed lost in his thoughts at the moment, staring at the ground.

"What's wrong?" She asked simply, not really expecting an answer from the secretive deputy.

Orynn looked up and about, into the eyes of the doctor. He nervously licked his lips, and he drummed his fingers on the handle of his cane. Apparently trying to choose his words carefully.
"It--It's nothing. Thank you for your time, Doctor." He quickly nodded in her direction and he made his way out the door.

"Oh- Well good then, if its nothing. Good day, Mr. Novim." She said, not really wanting to make any effort to pry even though the letter peeked her curiosity. She watched him leave the hospital wing.
Wow- he didn't slam the door. I'm impressed.
She wondered back over to Samuel and pushed the curtains aside. Samuel was turned over, his face buried in the pillow sobbing.
"Oh come now dear, it can't be that bad." She said reassuringly to the eleven-year-old. "Turn over, look at me."
The child turned over, his eyes glistening with tears. She sat on the edge of the bed and handed Sam a tissue from her apron. He wiped his tears and sniffled. "Mr. MacLeod is just angry because you disobeyed his orders. That, and I think he's upset you ruined his shirt. He's not going to do anything to you. I won't let him. I'm sure he reminded you how it's important to follow the rules, right?"
The child nodded sheepishly, "So that people don't get hurt."
"That's right. I'm sure you learned that lesson today and I bet you won't forget it. "Althea patted him on the leg.
"No, 'mam."
She went over to the garbage can and pulled out Aesir's shirt. She held it up in front of her shaking her head as she looked over the bloodied worn band shirt. She took out her wand and pointed it at the shirt. "Excoriata." The blood on the shirt evaporated into thin air. She folded the shirt and placed it on the neighbouring bed. She did they same with the boy's uniform and placed it along side the t-shirt.
"Good. How's your nose? Feel dizzy?"
"It stings a little... No."
"Oh of course it does, you broke it. It's fine now, so you don't have to be worried about your good looks being marred- the girls will still chase you, no need to fret." She smiled at him. The boy's mood lighted up a little at her joke. "I can give you a note for the rest of the day off if you like. You are still going to have to catch up in your classes and go to detention if Mr. MacLeod gave you one. Later on you can relax in the Ravenclaw common room or stay here if you prefer, but for now you must stay, I do believe Mr. MacLeod wants to speak with you again."
The boy listened to his options. "Umm... I'd like a note please, and I'd like to go back to my room later."
"Very well. For now, rest and try not to think about it. Detention's not that horrible...you usually get made to clean something." Althea spoke as if it was from experience.
"Oh, ok."
"I'll be around if you need anything. We just have to wait for Mr. MacLeod to return."
Althea did her rounds tending to the other children who managed to get sick or injured in the first few weeks of school. She spoke with each one taking care to make them comfortable.

The door opened and Aesir walked back inside, another student in tow. The young girl seemed to be coming in to visit a friend, when the flight professor walked in.
He continued on his way, now wearing his jacket as well, walking passed the student from his class. With fearful eyes, the boy piped up.
"Sir? Am I in trouble?"
Aesir kept walking. "You gonna do it again?"
"No, sir!"
"Good. Detention. My office tomorrow."
The boy fell back into his bed, defeated and crestfallen. The flight professor continued onward until he found the Doctor.
"Oi, Doctor. Sorry bout before. Jerk really got me fires burnin'. Didn't mean ter be such a dork meself. The kid goin' ter be alright?" he asked, sounding genuinely concerned.

"Yes, he's fine. Oh- Um, I cleaned your shirt. It's over there." She pointed to it on the bed. "It's ok, I just wish people would stop slamming the hospital wing doors shut... It disturbs my patients... It seems to be a trend around here. I can understand getting pis-... annoyed with Orynn, he has a talent for getting everyone angry around him... I'd love to know why he feels the need to treat everyone who isn't pure blood like trash... It frustrates me to no end... He demands respect, be doesn't seem to want to return it... He doesn't think to highly of me either, nor my husband, because we dare to use muggle methods...He's generally of the opinion that magic is better... Heh- I bet he'd be wicked pissed if he found out that cream I gave him is from a muggle pharmacy...I'm sorry, I'm ranting again."

Aesir tried holding back his smile. It was horribly unsuccessful.
I like this one. She's definitely got some spunk.
He sniggered a bit at the last part, grinning widely now. "Definately a fun one, he is. S'ok though; I spoke to the Headmistress. He's gonna be coming in with a limp soon enough cuz he's about ter have a boot lodged in there too."
He looked over, surprised about the shirt. He quickly took a few steps over and lifted it up. "Hey! Ye really did! Ye saved it's life!" he said, amazed. He fixed her with a mock look of tearful appreciation clutching the shirt like an award. "Ye're a miracle worker, Doctor! It never wouldn't have made it through without you. Do ye do grass stains and mud, too? Cuz if so, i got patients lined up a plenty..."

She grinned, "Oh no... I don't want him back here... I really do wish him the best of health, so I don't have to deal with him more than I have to."
She chuckled at his dramatic appreciation for saving his shirt. "I can if you like, it's not that difficult, but I don't want to be your laundry maid- though with the weather getting colder, you shouldn't have to worry about grass stains 'till the spring."
She took on a more solemn tone keeping her voice down, "Its too about about not being able to do magic, I could have taught you... It a useful spell, especially when you've got kids..."
She paused. "I'm sorry he's such a jerk about that-"

What's a matter Aesir? I know you hate me. I know your jealous of my abilities. It's nothing spectacular, really. Basic magic I learned in some of my first years at school. The body-bind curse is just one of many I know. Useful isn't it? Too bad you'll never even be able to grasp something a first year could. Your just a useless Squib, a freak and a loser. You just stay there and think about that. Not that you have much of a choice.
You know, I really hope one day the Ministry finds your bloated body in a ditch one day.
Aesir was putting on his shirt again when Althea began talking about his not being able to use magic. Back still turned, he asked a little gruffer than normal. "So, whens Quidditch. I'm itchin' fer a game, aren't ye?"
Easy, Aesir, she's trying ter help ye.
I don't need her bloody pity.

"I don't know, I thought that was up to you. Usually the flying instructor is the referee... I was hoping you could tell me." She seemed to be oblivious to his change in tone, possibly allotting his frustration to the disobedient student.

"Oh." he said, his gruffness evaporating immediately. "Well then, I'm gonna have to figure out when I can get it started as soon as possible. Got the brooms for it, and some relatively new equipment from the labs. Should be good 'nuff fer them ta use. That alone ought ter cut yer accident patients by half, methinks."
He gave her a small smile. "Hope ye don't mind."

She smirked, "No, not at all... I just wish that they would wear more protective equipment- then again there's only so much you can wear while ridding a broom..." She rested her hands in her apron pockets pulling a hand out again to point a thumb over her shoulder in the direction of her office. "Would you like to sit down? Can I offer you a Coke?"
