Donall had indeed read the first chapter of the textbook for homework, but he had no new thoughts on the subject of the Knights of Walpurgis. The other three students had summed up his readings in entirety.
He shifted in his seat, waiting for something interesting to come out of the class. If it were to be as happening as the last one, Don knew he was in for a ride.

Donall leisurely walked into class, he was in no rush to return to the class that had started his House Mates in verbal disputes, nor was he interested in a repeat of last class.
However, he was ready to do it all over again. He wasn't sure why, but he knew that if he was able to answer a question, and it meant getting the class going and finishing up sooner, he was ready and willing to do what it would take. If that was such a crime, then so be it.
He dropped into his seat, placing his bag in his lap so he could fish out his materials. Then, letting his bag hit the floor with a tiny clunk, he settled himself into his chair, ready to pay attention for the time being.

Dónall scribbled down a reminder to read the rest of the first chapter, and then packed up his book, parchment and quill. He brushed past his Slytherin peer who had made the remark earlier, and lightly shoved past him in a rude manner.
The Slytherin said quietly, for Don's ears only, "You've got it coming, Kennedy."
Don walked on, looking back at the professor for a brief second before he walked out the door and on his way to his next class.

Hesitantly, Donall straightened himself up, and looked the professor in the eye. He ignored the glares from his House Mates and spoke clearly this time.
"Grindelwald, Sir."

Turning his head slightly to his fellow Slytherin, Don whispered back. "Quiet, man. You don't know what you're talking about."
Dónall knew the answer. However, he was fighting with himself over whether he should answer the question or not. He had already participated more than he would have liked, and he knew he would get a good talking to form his House Mates later on. What could one more answer do?
He mumbled out a "Grindelwald," almost inaudibly, but just loud enough to be faintly heard.

Don looked down at his parchment, hoping that breaking the eye contact with he professor would make his words a little less pulling. As it stood, he felt what the knight was saying, but refused to acknowledge what he really meant.
He glanced back up, and stared at his DADA professor. The connection between the two groups was there, definitely, but the deeper connection between what Sir Nicholas had said, and what Don assumed he should get of it, was nowhere to be seen.

Straightening up a bit in his seat at mention of his name, Dónall looked the knight straight in the eye, and answered the question.
"For sure, let's study these knights more in depth; they seem to have the same basic beliefs as Voldy's Death Eaters. There's gotta be a connection there."
His lips curling into a small smile, he continued. "I mean, really, we're learning about modern Dark Arts history here, not some few centuries old group of sword wielding fiends. They have to tie in somewhere."

Dónall sat slightly slumped in his chair, sketching randomly on his parchment, no longer taking notes. He had no questions, and simply waited for someone else to step up and do the talking.

'Aha, I was right.' he smirked, obviously very pleased with himself for knowing the right answers. The feeling of embarrasment was long gone; he was almost, dare he say it, proud to have learned something.
Very seriously, Dónall answered this question. "When there's a threat, the best thing to do is to eliminate it. You have to use any means possible to ensure your safety. Simply put; kill them. It's a mob tactic, if I've ever heard one."
Don went quiet after that, having nothing else to contribute to the class.

'Cruciatus, eh? That's the curse that gave you that nasty bugger on your face,' he thought. 'Let's see...'
Seeing as he had already answered questions today, he knew his House mates would bother him about it, anyway. So, he answered this question as well, without any hesitation except for a moment or two to think.
"I suppose the Cruciatus could be used on those who might think to expose Wizardry to the Muggle world, no? To scare them into silence. It's torture, I guess, but used for a good cause."
Looking the professor square in the eye, he continued. "What other reason would one have to use it against the Muggles?" He quickly added, "If they were only doing it out of good intentions, of course?"

Without thinking, Don rattled off an answer as his hand raised to the air. "Personally, I'd just Imperius their leaders, maybe the religious leaders, to spread the word that magic doesn't exist. Or maybe their Muggle scientists to disprove any sort of magic by simple logic and science..."
'Oh boy, am I in for it now. These boys of mine will never forgive me for offering up so much knowledge in class!'
Dónall's face flushed in emabarrasmnet; he didn't know what had gotten into him today. This was not like him at all, especially in the knight's class. 'Why did I continue with this class, again?'

Don glared at the blackboard. He wasn't about to offer up some 'good' information. He might not ever think to use the unforgivables, for that was just a stupid idea, but he wasn't about to answer this sort of question, especially with his fellow Slytherins around.
His Slytherin peers stayed quiet as well, following his example, but a Ravenclaw 5th year, sitting in the front of the classroom raised her hand politely to give the answer.
"Yes, professor Lannsmann, these curses can be used for good when good people use them in order to stop those who would use them for bad. Thus, this renders the curses themselves neutral, and rather, the spell-casters are deemed good or bad."
Dónall peered down at his parchment, and thought to himself, 'Yeah, that was what I thought, exactly...'

'To keep the Wizarding world a secret... Dark methods... I wonder; could it be...?' Don's mind raced through the possibilities.
Coming to a possible conclusion, and still absnetmindedly twirling his quill, Dónall questioned the knight, "The Unforgivables?" He raised his hand, this time.

Dónall shifted uncomfortably in his seat, not wanting to be called upon to read, nor offer his services on his own accord. He'd be fine just listening, maybe even taking notes if he felt like it.
He pulled out his text book from his carry on bag, and opened it to the first chapter. He didn't follow along very much, until they got the really interesting part about The Knights of Walpurgis. He had heard the name before, vaguely, at his parents' dinner table, though he couldn't quite remember the context. It had been many years ago, as a small child, and he hadn't even known anything about Dark Arts or history.
While he listened, Don twirled his quill in his fingers. He was paying attention, though giving off an air of disinterest in the process.
As the professor finished speaking, Don scribbled quickly with his quill, marking down the knights, their purpose, and the years of the Wizard/Muggle fighting. He had no need to note the Hogwarts founding, as he had already learned that from his readings of Hogwarts: A History.
Not looking up from his quill and parchment, Don quipped, "Of course, with all that hatred going on we'd need to find methods to hide our magic and our communities."
"Lot of good that did," he mumbled to no one in particular, "Those Muggle-Borns still found there way in." A fellow Slytherin student to his right had heard that little remark, and sniggered at the thought.

Don nodded in agreement; he just wanted the class to move on to something interesting. He was taking the class for a reason, one which he didn't fully know yet, but he wanted to at least get something out of his wasted time.
