A flash of guilt showed in Donall's eyes, but he didn't raise them for the professor to see. He wasn't going to slip up on his first day back. He didn't say another word to the professor but pulled out his wand an banished his things to his Common Room. He would follow soon after.
Now, he spoke. "Yes... Safe." He then walked past the knight and made his way to the Slytherin Common Room.

Don shrugged out of the cloak that the knight wrapped around him, and glared at him in the same way his father had. He fixed him with a cold stare, letting him know it was cold inside as well.
"I don't need your help," he spat, venemously. He added in quickly, "Sir." He acted, seemingly, back to his old ways.

With a stern glare in the knight's direction, Don's father merely nodded, and said "Yes, very well then. The Headmistress has been notified, and I should be on my way." He was eager to leave before the knight pressed him about the reasons for his son's sudden departure from and arrival at the school. Though he was a stubborn man, proud and powerful, he was a stickler for privacy and didn't like people butting into his business when they were unwanted.
Don's eyes followed his father, and avoided his DADA professor. When his father walked past the knight to leave the Entrance Hall, however, Don's eyes rested on Sir Nick for a few seconds before dropping his gaze to the floor.
Shuddering from the cold as his father left the castle, Don blocked out any more thought of his father an dstared blankly ahead.

Sean Kennedy looked at the man who had just entered, and mentally cursed at not having left sooner. He had no desire to confront any of Hogwarts staff, least of all this man. He recognized Sir Nicholas Lannsmann from the many news articles that had surfaced over the years.
While Don's father sized up the Gryffindor Head of House, Donall merely looked up at the professor with fury in his eyes, and did nothing else to acknowledge his presence. He looked as though he hadn't slept well in days.
Sean Kennedy stared a moment longer, then answered Sir Nicholas. "Sir knight." he greeted, no respect in his voice for the title he spewed. "I was just seeing my boy safely back onto school grounds."
He looked back at his son for a split second, then back at the knight. "We had some family business to take care of."

Donall had finally been given permission to return to school, and his father had accompanied him until the front doors of the castle.
He now sat on his trunk, unwilling to move any further, with his head cradled in his hands.
This 'vacation' had not been for pleasure, nor had he enjoyed one second of it. Any parchment or quill had been removed from his room, along with any other item of comfort aside from his bed. He had been locked in, with the twice daily visit from his father.
His father demanded that Donall explain his odd behavior, and in doing so promise to return to his normal way of acting. Sean Kennedy did not approve of Donall's change one bit.
Donall shuddered just thinking of his week long stay at home. He didn't want to think any more of it, and wished the conversations and arguments would leave his mind. All he could think of were the recurring words of his father, "You will do as I say or face the consequences. Leaving Hogwarts will be the least of your problems."
Don refused to cry. He just sat in his spot in the entrance hall, not quite ready to face the castle just yet.

It was a late Thursday night and Dónall couldn't sleep. Dressed in a pair of sweatpants and a dark green t-shirt, and armed with a heating charm instead of a sweater, Don wandered the dungeon halls. He had left the 'comfort' of his Common Room to wander aimlessly and enjoy the solitude of the night.
The twists and turns of the halls didn't deter him, he simply walked and walked, without thinking of going anywhere in particular. He pulled out his pocket watch heirloom, and checked the time. Letting out a whistle, he was shocked to see how late it was. 'Three in the morning, that's a record.'
However, the time didn't bother him, and he simply continued his meandering, not noticing the wall hangings or the portraits around him.
His late night wanderings had become routine this past week, as his House mates had become less and less bearable. The changes in his life, and the stress he was going through left him drained but unable to sleep, so he used his time to either read his many novels or wander the halls of the dungeon.
No matter how many times he walked the hallways, he still hadn't uncovered even half the secrets that lay in the basement of the Hogwarts castle, nor had he ever been caught out past curfew.

A few hours later, as the train slowed to a stop in the Hogsmeade Station, Dónall had finished his book. It was 500 pages long, but he was a fast reader. Always had been.
With his mind wandering back to the happenings of the past few days, Don stepped off the train, leaving his trunk behind him as he always did. The students' belongings were always brought up to the castle without them; he had no need to take his trunk with him.
Grabbing the horseless carriage nearest to him, Don sat himself down and closed the door behind him. He didn't want to sit with his peers; he would much rather keep to himself like he had all throughout the train ride.

Character Name: Dónall (Daniel) Kennedy. Don, for short.
Character Age: 16
Wand: 11 inch, Oak, Dragon Heartstring core.
Pet (if any): An owl named Marius
Family History (Go into detail, if possible): Dónall was born to Seán (John) and Gráinne (Grace) Kennedy, a pure-blooded couple from Ireland, with no other children. They raised him to look down on anyone different or not as wealthy as themselves, and made sure to instil a dislike for muggles in him.
Seán Kennedy attended Durmstrang, and graduated at the top of his class. He soon after took over the family diamond business and met Gráinne in the same year. Gráinne had attended Hogwarts, and had been in Slytherin House. She was reputed for being a bit of a snob, and never had to work for anything in her life. She bought her homework from her peers and never had to study too much. She did not work after Hogwarts, but vacationed with her parents until she met Seán. They were wed a year and a half later. Dónall was born nine months after they consecrated their marriage.
Don’s father works in the diamond industry, as a manager, and does business in the Wizarding world as well as the Muggle world, on occasion. He only deals with Muggles because it gives him the opportunity to take advantage of them and swindle their money. This leaves the Kennedy family very well off.
Don was raised to believe that excellence is the main thing to be proud of in life, and he uses this ideal to his benefit in school. In his first few years at Hogwarts he worked hard, but as his father pressured him more and more, he began to lash out more than usual and would land himself in detentions almost every day. It got to the point where, in his fourth year, he was forced to quit the Quidditch team because he was spending more time in detention than he was on the pitch for practice.
After quitting the Quidditch team, Dónall withdrew into himself, though he still was borderline cruel to those who would get in his way or pry too much into his personal life. However, he tried harder to behave better in class; there was nothing else they could take away from him if he continued misbehaving, anyway. He went on to take his OWLs in 9 courses, and will continue on in 6 of them. He will be taking Potions, Charms, Care of Magical Creatures, Transfiguration, Defence Against the Dark Arts, and Ancient Runes.
Dónall stays in Hogwarts for Christmas holiday because his parents travel during that time. He receives many gifts from them, but does not have the pleasure of their company or the comfort of his own bed at home. His summer holiday is spent vacationing in his family summer’s house; very far away from any people – Muggle and Wizard alike. Their fireplace is open to the floo-network, though, and they receive many guests on weekends.
Physical Description: Dónall is 5”9 and has a lean build. Due to his short Quidditch career (A year and a half) he had begun to develop some muscle, but not too much. He has black hair, and will usually just leave the front spiked. (See signature and avatar for looks - Milo Ventimiglia)
Personality Description (Go into detail, if possible): Dónall has an attitude problem, and talks back to his professors, even without much provocation. This is very unfortunate because he has an extremely bright mind. Though he loves to read and to write, he hides this from his classmates, and even his parents, because it does not seem fitting for a boy of his stature. He works hard, and can be quite stubborn at times, but though he receives good marks, he cannot be bothered to crack open a book to study. He is, so it would seem, a natural learner in most subjects and this study method, or lack thereof, works for him.
Dónall pokes fun at others, and belittles those he views as weak. However, he has let up a little on this since his fourth year, due to a priority shift. He still will ridicule or insult students, but only when he deems it absolutely necessary. Otherwise, Dónall keeps to himself, and quietly rules his House.
Strengths: Dónall has a strong sense of pride for his family, and the pure-blooded community, and will stand up for his beliefs when beneficial only to himself.
Weaknesses: He has an ungrounded dislike for those who are not well off or pure-blooded. His grades suffer when he hears from his father, because his father is constantly pressuring him and encouraging him to 'rule over' the student body if it means furthering himself in his academics.
If given the opportunity - would you take part in a Quidditch team, a Book Club, a Potions group or an Afternoon Tea party? Don would love to be on the Quidditch team, but to be honest, he was forced to quit in his fourth year due to the amount of detentions he had been receiving. He would take part in a book club, now, for sure.
If you found a wandering Kneazle, what would you do? If it was in his way, Don might kick it or move it with his foot. If not, then he would walk right on by, not paying any attention to the creature.
What House would you like to be placed in (This is to be taken into consideration, though the Hat will ultimately make the final decision)? Slytherin, where his mother was housed during her Hogwarts career.
Why would you like to be in this student group and not the others? Dónall would love to be in Slytherin because that is what his family expects of him. He also believes that is where he would do best. (He would like to be in the 5-6 year group because his character would be best played that way. Or, at least, that’s what his RL player thinks…)
Please give us an example RP:
Sitting under a tree by the lake, Dónall’s face was all that showed beneath the hood of his dark green sweatshirt. It was a chilly and rainy evening, and he decided that it was the perfect weather for the way he was feeling. He stared at the blades of grass, watching as the rain beat down hard on the ground, spraying drops in many directions.
He had just been forced to quit the Quidditch team and he felt as if his whole world had upturned itself. Quidditch had been the only thing that made him happy, aside from his books, and it had been taken away from him all because he had chosen the wrong way to deal with his father’s constant badgering. Of course, he had known what he was doing; he was the master of his emotions, after all.
However, he had never expected his behaviour to land him as many detentions as it had, and he was quite sore at the prospect of having free evenings again. If he had already lost his Quidditch practices, then what point was there in continuing to receive detentions? There was nothing more they could take away from the fourteen year old boy.
A second year Hufflepuff walked by, and peered down at Don, to see who it was that was crazy enough to be sitting outside in the pouring rain. This twelve year old was crazy too, then, for she was simply walking outside, seemingly on her way to the greenhouses or to the school itself; Dónall wasn’t sure. She stared too closely, for after a few seconds, Dónall yelled an “Oi, Huffy, get lost! This ain’t a place for ickle girlies, y’know! Move along!”
The girl ran off, and Don heard a sob escape her before she had gotten too far away for anything to be audible.
“None of her blasted business is it?” he thought aloud to himself. “Nosy buggers, the lot of ‘em.”
Dónall sat there, under his tree, for the better part of the evening, and eventually ended up missing dinner.

Don was nervous, and trying not to shake or look like this was getting to him. When he spoke, however, it was very obvious how he felt. "Yes, professor, sir. A walk, maybe?"
For the first time in a month or so, he had said the word "sir" with the utmost respect.

Donall made his way silently to the Hospital Wing, mentally arguing with himself over why he was going there and what in the world he thought he was doing.
The attack a few days ago had been a real eye opener, especially the verbal one that the knight had given him moments later. Mulling over those words for the past few days had kept him quiet and aloof, even more so than his usual self.
Now, opening the door to the Hospital Wing, he saw Nicholas sitting by his wife's hospital bed, and he knew there was no turning back.
He walked in a bit, and stopped a good istance from the professor's chair. "Erm... Professor?" he said, clearing his throat. "Do you have a few minutes?"
Don shuffled his feet and stared down at the floor as hewaited for a reply from the man.

"Thank you, Sir." he whispered back. "Your advice really helped."
He then walked over to Anthony again, to shake his hand, silently. Anthony merely looked at it for a moment, then without any strength behind it, shook Dónall's hand. He didn't look Don in the eyes, though. "You can't just turn your back on your House, Kennedy. But you've proven yourself today..."
Dónall nodded, not knowing what else to say. While that went on, the audience began to disperse. The excitement for the day was over.

"Petrificus Totalus!" he cried. As the spell hit the shocked boy, he went stiff as a board and toppled over.
Dónall walked over slowly, and crouched down to speak to Anthony. "Now that you have nowhere to go at the moment, you have to listen."
"You and the rest of the goons have no right to treat me the way you have been. Just because I gained a conscience and know what I want out of life doesn't give you grounds to attack me or my beliefs. You and I both know the pressure our families put on us; why should my way of handling it be any less right than way you do? I don't need to be an arse like you."
He stood up again, and looked down at the unmoving body of his opponent. Frowning slightly, he said his last words. "Grow up, Anthony."
With that, he walked back to his side of the floor, and awaited instruction from Sir Lannsmann while looking down at his feet in nervousness and a small bit of embarrassment.

Dónall mentally cursed at having missed Anthony's wand and losing his own, but he still kept a level head. He scrambled for Anthony's while he was distracted by the bird he had hit instead of Dónall.
It was no or never. "Expelliarmus, Accio wand!" Dónall's wand flew from Anthony's hand and into his own.

Dónall took this opportunity to try to hit Anthony with a spell that would end the duel. He cried out "Expelliarmus!" and it was fortunate to him that the spell hit its target, and Anthony's wand went flying.
The wand suspended in the air, Don tried to catch it.

Dónall didn't struggle as Anthony sent a Levicorpus his way. This could be used for his advantage; from in the air he could aim better higher up on Anthony's body.
He screamed "Finite Incantatum!" followed by a quick "Confundo!" aiming at Anthony's collarbone. The spell hit, confunding the boy, making him confused and unaware for a few moments.
The Levicorpus spell broke, and Don fell to the floor but quickly rolled over and stood up in a good stance.
He didn't take Anthony's bait; he stayed quiet, never talking back, only concentrating on the spells he threw his way.
He threw a couple of spells at Anthony quickly one after the other, while he was confunded. This was his chance. "Avis! Oppugno!" A flock of birds appeared and at his command flew around Anthony's head, distracting him.
