Dónall made brief eye contact with the knight before dropping his eyes as soon as the man's words got too emotional for him. He said he was proud of those who had continued on his class. 'Ha, proud...'
Lifting his eyes once more to look around the room, Don realized that there were no questions. however, he knew the professor well enough to know he wouldn't continue without one.
Raising his hand, and not waiting to be acknowledged, Dónall spoke. "Yes, professor, when exactly will be beginning the section on recent Dark Arts history?"

Dónall walked in with a purposeful stride, not giving any notice to the other students already in the classroom.
Taking a seat toward the back of the class, Don looked over at the professor, giving him a curt nod in greeting. He then opened his carry on bag in search of a piece of parchment a quill. Pulling out a parchment, he quickly began doodling, waiting for class to start.

Donall nodded in understanding, and corrected his wand movement as he cast his spell once more. "Abdo Egonim!" he cried.
Pleased with his work, he watched wide eyed as the pillow disappeared once more, to stay that way until he lifted the spell with a "Finite Incantatum."
He stayed quiet, awaiting further instructions or the end of class. Whichever came sooner. He felt accomplished, and wished to move on.

Don managed to let out a smile as the professor approached, a small feat all in itself. Then as the professor walked away and Isabelle said her spell, he watched intently.
"Wicked." he said, a touch of admiration in his voice. "That was pretty good."

Don sat down next to Isabelle, and pulled out his wand. "I suppose so."
With a fluid swishing motion, and an "Abdo Egonim," the pillow seemed to vanish in thin air, but only for a split second. It should have lasted longer.
"I think that shouldn't have happened so soon." he said, rubbing the back of his head, nervously. "Maybe you should give it a try..."

Don smiled, almost, at his correct answer. He had known it was right all along, but the reward for the proper incantation meant something to him much more than the mere fact that he was correct.
They were to pair off for the practical part of the class, and this was something he never liked. Rather, others didn't like pairing with him, especially his Housemates. This was due to the fallout from his House that had occured this year, but he didn't quite care.
He walked up to the Ravenclaw girl who had answered the first question and chose her as his partner, if she would have him. "Err, hi there. Would you like to partner off?"

Don sat up straight, and thought hard. He knew the incantation, but required some pondering time.
When the answer finally hit him, he raised his hand and spoke out, "Abdo Egonim." He had reviewed over Christmas Holidays.

Dónall stopped playing with his wand long enough to hear the question that was being asked.
Disillusioning Charm? Yeah, he knew it. But he also knew that he didn't feel like being very heard today, so he kept quiet, waiting for another student to voice their answer. He resumed the twirling of his wand and leaned back a little more in his chair.

Donall knew he needed this class for his NEWTS in the following year, but he hesitated as he arrived to the classroom. The Charms professor was nice enough, of course, but his eccentricity was just so blatant that there was only so much of it Don could handle. Just one more term left, then he'd at least be free of the strange man for a couple of months.
He walked in quickly, ignoring the Ravenclaw girl and the professor at the front of the classroom. He sat down in his usual seat, front and to the right side, closest to the door, and took out his class materials. He played with his wand while he awaited the start of class.

Donall will be taking the same classes as the last time, but he'll RP in not only Transfig and DADA, but Charms, too.

Donall awoke with a start, feeling a small box suddenly appear on his right foot. He raised his head to look, and saw a small wrapped box, in dark green wrapping paper with a dark green bow resting right on his foot, next to a medium sized box wrapped in deep red.
He reached over and picked up the smaller box, looking for a card. On the bottom side was a small piece of parchment, written on in script. It read From Deputy Headmaster Novim, Slytherin Head of House.
He put aside the parchment and opened the gift to find a ring. The band was mad of two intertwined snakes, and at the to was a small orb, with a miniscule flame flickering in the middle. A second later it changed to a drop of water, and then wisps of air. Lastly it became a tiny chunk of soil. It was an elemental ring, changing its element randomly, or so he assumed.
He smiled wearily, he never usually recieved Christmas gifts. He then turned his attention to the other gift.

Dónall felt a tiny bit of remorse for the way he had just behaved, but he decided there was no point in letting it show. He wasn't known for apologizing, though Merlin knows why he had done so with the Jannings girl. He would stop himself before he was too late, this time.
He rose from his seat by the fire, and cast a glance in Claire's direction before going off to his dorimitory to wallow in his emotions some more, away from the other students.

Don's head snapped up at the sound of a female voice. He was not happy to be disturbed in the middle of his very own pity party. Most Slytherin students knew better than to bother him when he was alone, but it seemed this one must have either forgotten that rule, or hadn't quite known it to begin with.
"What's it to you, Walsh?" he retorted. "Mind your own business."

Dónall sat in a big armchair, right near the fire. It had been a week since he received an owl from his father and had a strange run-in with the Jannings Ravenclaw girl.
In his hands he held yet another letter from his father. Moments earlier there had been a howler as well. His father was not happy with him; he was not living up to the family name, and was going soft. Or so his father believed.
Lucky for Dónall nobody else had been in the Common Room at the time. He had skipped breakfast, and his owl had come to find him here instead of his usual place at the Slytherin Table in the Great Hall. Don was very thankful for that privacy, especially when the Howler arrived.
He didn't quite understand why he was acting the way he was, but he knew that he was tired of being his father's puppet. He was slowly starting to be his own person, but it frightened him; he didn't really know he was.
He looked down at the letter in his hands and reread the last line, for the tenth time. No son of mine will ever consort with those below his status or o 'soft.' Do you understand me? If I hear anymore of your shenanigans in your classes, there will be a price to pay.
Dónall crumpled up the letter and threw it into the fire, tears skewing his view. He didn't let those tears fall, but they gathered in his eyes, until he swiped at them with a balled up fist.
He relaxed his body in the chair, and lowered his head into his hands. It was going to be a long year...

Dónall walked slowly behind the group of firsties and the Head of House; he had not felt like taking the short cut this time, relishing in the peaceful walk in the dimly lit corridors.
In his journey down to the dungeons he noticed another newcomer to the school; she wasn't there in the last 6 years of his schooling, so it was safe to assume that she was new to these halls.
He glanced curiously in her direction, wondering as to how in Merlin's world a person could be so pale; there was a thing called the sun for a reason. Don just didn't understand certain things about people, but it wasn't very much like him to go figuring things out if it had no benefit for him.
When they reached the Common Room, Dónall stuck around long enough to watch the nervous First Years, and hear the pale girl ask a question. He was curious why she would ask that question in particular, but he didn't care enough to stay behind and listen. He also had a question of his own, pertaining to that duel the Gryffie Head of House had mentioned. He would stay after class tomorrow to ask him about it.
He walked straight down to his dorm room, and plopped himself on his bed pulling the curtains closed around him. It would be a great way to end an insufferably annoying night by reading a good novel in the privacy of his own bed. His dorm-mates knew better than to disturb him when his curtains were closed, and he was extremely thankful for that.
