Syhinad was at worst, entertaining, with silly phrases and generally very amusing stories of some of the oddities he's seen while serving with the Ministry. He caught the glimpse of one Althea out of the corner of his eye, blinking slightly he does a double take.
He also looks up to the stage at the tunes that play, and a small smirk appears on his face as Seven Deadly Sins starts to play.
"Drunken Lullabies!"
he shouts up to the stage amid the noise from the speakers. He smirks to himself, and then turns to catch sight again of the centaur and the witch. He excuses himself from the persons he was talking to and makes his way towards the two, stepping out close to the both of them.
"A cup o' tea then?"
he smiles to Althea.
"Althea Stath? Is that you? My goodness I havn't seen you since well, graduation! Goodness it's been quite some time!"
He smiles to her and then up to Sellivia.
"Oh my, Miss Sellivia, you've really outdone yourself. Very nice!"
He looks back to Althea.
"I didn't mean to intrude, but it was just such a surprise to see you!"

Stevie pulled out his wand-dagger, grinning as he did so. It was fake, of course. The dagger part quickly fell off of the wand.
"Um... Yeah..." He quickly picked up the dagger head, placed it on the want carefully, and this time it stuck.
"... I think it's good now..." he said with a grin and a shrug.
"Hi!" Came Stevie's last reply to Neoma.

Althea smiled wide at Syhinad, "It's good to see you too and by Stath, you mean Heilmann, but it's Lannsman now anyway. It's been so long! How've you been? I had no idea you were teaching here... No one comes to visit me in the hospital wing unless they're bleeding... Anyway, this is Vincent and Isabelle, and this is Edward." She tickled the baby making him giggle a bit."Kids, this is Syhinad."
"Hello." They shyly said.

Heilmann, right, I knew another Althea at the Ministry, a bit codswalloped in the head sometimes, but then again, i mixed up your names so look at me."
His smile grows wide.
"Aye I am I've taken up the vacant place of Charms instructor, and have had quite a bit of fill, but am really enjoying getting back to this place. Doctor Althea, well i remember you were good at those variety of spells in our classes together. Lannsman too? the name sounds so very familiar..."
He looks down to the kids and beams a large smile, kneeling one one knee.
"Well well, how do you do Vincent, Isabelle, and the apparently captured frog-prince Edward?" he held out a friendly hand to each of them, and winked playfully.
"I'm the mad hatter, but your mother calls me Syhinad, so maybe that is what my name is after. I lost it this morning, but thankfully your mom returned it."
He produces his wand and gives a small flick of his wrist, producing a box of bertie botts beans, a chocolate frog, and pumkin tart.
"If your mom permits, some early candy fun never hurt anyone I say."

'Oh crap!' Kel was panicking. She had totally forgotten about the Ball! She had come down to the Great Hall for dinner and discovered that there was a ball going on instead! She ran back to the common room, changed quickly into the costume she had ready, then hurried back to the Great Hall. She slipped in, hoping no one noticed how late she was. She tangled her fingers in the skirt of her dress, a nervous habit. She was wearing a reddish dress that ended below her knees, with a small white belt and collar. She had put a barrette in her hair that pulled a small part of it back, but other than that she hadn't done anything with it. She was going for the 1900s look, but wasn't positive she had succeeded. At least the heavy material kept her warm. Kel's wand was tucked into a hidden pocket in the skirt, because the dress didn't have long sleeves like her school robes. Her mother sewed a pocket for her wand into every item of clothing she owned, because Kel always wanted it handy. As Kel surveyed the large room, trying in vain to hear anything over the loud sound of a 'Drunken Lullabies' song that the band was playing, she spotted Neoma, who was sort of archer, and Stevie, who seemed to either be a cat burglar or a ninja, Kel wasn't sure which. She made her way over to them, swiping a pumpkin-shaped cookie off a table as she went. ((Kel's dress:))

Deciding to go and get some pumpkin juice to ease away the embarrassment, Alora got up steadily and began to make her way over to the table where it was. Slowly walking over, she smiled and waved at a few people, before gladly coming to a holt and gripping hold of the table.
I am taking these off in a moment She thought as she gazed down at her shoes. The only reason she had them was because of the Ball, and the fact that they looked nice with her dress. She couldn't walk in them, they hurt and quite frankly she looked like an idiot. Why would she want to keep them on?
After spending quite a lot of time downing the Pumpkin juice and continuously clinging to the table, Alora decided it was time to go and sit back down again and listen to the band for a while.

"Hi!" Stevie said, waving to Keladry. These people didn't really have costumes he'd expect... But most things here he didn't expect. Correction. All things here he didn't expect. he didn't expect to get a mysterious letter from Hogwarts on his birthday. He had no clue he was going to be a wizard. He had no clue he would make friends as fast as he did, let alone friends at all! Though, through it all, everything had seemed to work out.
Then he noticed the cookie. Cookies meant sugar.
He turned his head to a table, and saw a platter of them. He took one and quickly came back to his friends, taking a bite. If you knew Stevie, then you'd know that he was a definite fan of cookies. Really, all things sweet. If he could, without a second thought, he would live on sweets.

Dónall was seated near the table with the pumpkin juic goblts, and his eyes fllowed Alora as she downed the refreshment. He wanted to go say hello or some other such words. She looked very pretty tonight... for a Ravenclaw.
He shook is head, as if to shake away the thought, and mentally reminded himself, You tolerate each other, that's all, Kennedy!
Getting up from his perch he crossed over the Great Hall to where Alora sat and walked right up to her. "You should do something about those shoes," he said, smiling playfully.

Kel waved back to Stevie, then grinned as he made a beeline for the cookies. He would be chock full of sugar and hyper as anything by the end of the night. She studied his costume, trying to figure out whether he was a cat burglar or a ninja. She spotted the dagger and decided it was the ninja.

The deep guttural and demonic chuckle came from behind Syhinad as the knight creature thudded its three clawed hand onto his shoulder. "Only if you'll be willing to babysit the children after you give them that candy, Syhinad. Although,, it has been a while since I've seen you. It's nice to have bumped into you again, I daresay" it answered. The creaure turned it's crimson gaze to Althea. "You look lovely tonight, dear."
It walked over beside her. Vincent looked at it with a "Cool!", Isabelle scurrying behind her mother's skirt and little Edward giggled as he tried and grab at the horn sticking out of the helmet. The thing chuckled some more and leaned forward for Edward to hold it and giggle some more.

Syhinad looks up raising an eyebrow.
"Who invited the golem to the show."
He smiles and tilted his head.
"I would take it that's you Nicholas Lannsman, Quite the outfit, the years have been kinder to you than I I dare say. Well well, Nicholas and Althea. Always the two sweathearts, how very nice that more became of that relationship. Sandra and I had a sort of falling out after Graduation."

Nicholas turned his head to look back to Syhinad, but Edward gave a plaintive cry when the horn was taken from his grasp. Nicholas Plucked the helmet from his head, his long black hair cascading from inside over his shoulders as the eldritch fire dissipated. He held the helmet down, so the horn was within Edward's reach to fiddle with.
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. But I assume it was all for the best. It's nice to see some old friends from the graduating class. Although I don't know, you still look in pretty good shape in comparison. I think I'm more medical tape and stitches than man, but then again, I have a good seamstress." he said, smiling over to Althea. "I guess your invitation to the wedding must have gotten lost. Sorry about that."
He gave him an earnest smile and clapped him on the shoulder. "You've been doing well then?"

"Oh honey, it's daddy, he's just wearing a costume... See, Edward likes it." She said reassuringly to Isabelle who hid under her skirt. She gently nudged her back into the open. "What do you say kids?" She nodded an ok to Syhinad to give them the candy.
"Thank you!"
She looked to Syhniad, "Oh that's too bad, but there will be someone else I'm sure..."
She made a twisted face at Nicholas' mention of being sewn up one to many times. "I wish I didn't have to keep gluing you back together... Somehow trouble always manages to find you... Well at least your resigned your post as an auror. One too many close calls for my liking..."

"Actually she left, and i was working on a confounding problem..."
he leans and whispers slightly.
"I didn't realize she was gone till four days later..."
leans back and shrugs innocently.
"My bad honestly, but it was getting stale, the..." he stops remembering children. "Lets just say it was over, so yes, probably for the best."
He smirks at his statement. "Ah no, now you ruined it and took off the helm, my goodness what's happened to you!"
he laughs good naturedly.
"I read about your accounts in the profit, good one on you, i was too busy to ever make it down your way, but i'm glad of your success! in everything!"
he staggers slightly at the clap on his shoulder.
"Ah, i'm allright, returning back to school a different sort of lesson this time, but all in all enjoying it. Life has been hectic with the work in the ministry and now here..."

"I know. Which is why I quit, remember. I was getting tired of hospital food anyhow." he responded to Althea, giving her a brief affectionate look and quick kiss on the cheek before looking back to Syhinad.
He laughed at his antics and look somewhat bashful at the mentioning of him in the Prophet before fixing Syhinad with a friendly gaze. "Very different experience second time around though. Good kids though, very good bunch. And so you know, in case you didn't hear already, there should be another familiar face about. Do you remember Orynn? Orynn Novim? Thought I'd give you a heads up in case you two weren't best of friends. He teaches here too."
