She couldn't help but feel slightly wounded by the lady's response. Neoma felt stupid, in that she clearly had no idea what she meant, but was apparently expected to. She stared down and pushed her cuticles back as a habit. She then stared up and looked to Alora, hopping to communicate without words, how desperately she wanted to know what she meant by "Houses."

Neoma took some time to calm down, she began to get fidgety. Nervousness and fear, still battling her excitement and thrill. At first, she did not hear the question posed to her, and she had asked one of her own.
"Do you know how long the trip is?"
With a smile that showed off each of her teeth, she looked at Alora expectantly. She was met with an inquisitive look, and Neoma realize she had completely missed the question. For two reasons primarily. One, she was too excited to hear, and two;
"I'm not at all sure what you mean. What house I'll be in?"

Neoma blinked her eyes open, and her breathing came easier to her as she realized she was in one piece. Looking to her right, she saw the ruby red Hogwarts Express, steam billowing from it's top.
She could hardly contain her excitement, she moved quickly when she was summoned by Alora. She did not want to be left behind. She had made her decision to embrace the Wizarding world, and her new life, and she couldn't wait to get started.
"I'm here already." She laughed, as she clamored onto the Express, some of the staff taking her heavier things to store them in the caboose. She thanked them, and rushed into the compartment with Alora, sitting on the opposite end.
Outside the window, parents were waving to their children, but there were no tears. There was no fear in any one's eyes, there was only joy. Neoma was beside herself, finally looking at her cabin-mate.
"This is thrilling!" she exclaimed giddily.

Her eyes widened slightly, and her brows furrowed. Was she nuts?! Why don't we just jump over a cliff instead?
That's what Neoma was thinking, but it wasn't what she believed. Even though her expression was one of utter confusion, her heart told her that Alora was very serious. She looked up to her father, who looked down at her and shrugged his shoulders and frowned goofily.
This made Neoma giggle, and she reached up, and her father knelt down, and gave him a hug.
"Goodbye Da." She said softly.
"Take care pumpkin. He pulled away slightly, placing the bags he was holding onto her trolley. "We will write always." he poked her nose playfully with his index finger.
"Me too!" Neoma said proudly. She then gathered her things, and backed her trolley up to where Alora had indicated.
She took a deep breath, looking at the pillar she had to face. She felt like it was mocking her, calling her a fool. She suddenly went into an all out sprint, eyes wide open facing her obstacle.
And yet it never came... she had vanished into thin air it seemed.

"We'd appreciate any help you can give."
Neoma looked up at her father, who was looking at Alora with an expression of some relief. It made Neoma giggle that her hero of a father was just as lost as she.
She then looked back at Alora, and gathered her own things, ready to run at the sound of a gunshot. Even her smile seemed to reflect her eagerness.
"I'd be so grateful if you would show me the way." She had temporarily forgotten how much older the student appeared, and was so glad that she had made her first real friend. Hopefully that is...

Neoma whisked around from clutching her father's arm to look at the older girl who had spoken. She was quite lovely, and had a very emphatic smile, but that was not what reassured Neoma the most.
"Y-yes!" She couldn't help but jump a bit, as she looked up at the much taller girl. Neoma thought that she must be a student, and Neoma couldn't stop smiling like a fool. Once again, the Wizarding world had shown her that it, and it's people, were nothing to be feared.

Neoma very rarely cried, which seemed odd because she appeared to be one whom would be sensitive even to slightest of paper cuts. In reality, Neoma was very strong willed and fiercely loyal. She could be upset without shedding a tear, and become flustered without blushing. The short of it was; she'd sooner get angry than cry, not by choice, it was just how she was. There were always exceptions, however, and as she entered her second hour of aimless wandering she could feel the sobs coming.
She walked around, with her father by her side, but he was just lost as her. They walked back and forth between the ninth and tenth platform until they both got headaches and were ridiculed non stop by passersby. Neoma had worked up so much excitement about finally going to Hogwarts, and now it seemed like she may not even get to go. She looked about five years younger than she was, as stayed glued to her father, hand cupped in his own.
Would they ever find their way? Neoma wondered, and she and her father carried all her luggage and supplies on a trolley.

"Uhh... sure Nik. I'll see you later I guess." Neoma had seen the older boy ahead of them, the same that Nicholas had just greeted warmly.
She looked at the older student, and immediately got the sense that she was not welcome. It was probably for the best.
Taking a deep breath, she walked towards and entered what was commonly known as Madam Malkin's. Time to fit in with the crowd.

((OOC: This is going to be short, I'm real sorry))
Neoma looked down at herself, and her face contorted in disbelief. She kept up with Nicholas, and looked up at him.
"What's wrong with my clothes?" She exclaimed.
Asides from that statement, Neoma agreed that the rest sounded like a good plan. She followed Nicholas towards what looked like another store.

Neoma didn't know what to say, but to claim via observation that she was overjoyed, was a definite understatement. Her face lit up with a beaming smile of immense gratitude. She quickly turned to gather up her pouch of coins, fixed her bag and then hurried after her soon-to-be Professor.
"Thank ye very much!" She said when she was walking in stride with the tall man. She looked up at him, eyelashes fluttering. This place... this, world, wasn't going to be all that bad after all.
"I do hope all the other Professors at Hogwarts are as nice as you Sir.. I mean; Nik." She smiled. She didn't know how to repay such kindness.

Neoma was breathing heavily. She had finally grabbed the last book that she would need for the term, and felt like she had just finished running a marathon. Even so, it would seem that the finish line had yet to be crossed.
"That will be 17 Galleons and 4 Knuts please." Said the lady at the cash register, who's tone of voice clearly stated that she was either bored out of her mind or going to shoot herself at any moment.
This did very little to calm Neoma, who hadn't yet deciphered this new currency. Wizarding money was so different to what she was used to. She took a small navy colored pouch and began taking each coin out one by one. If she came across what she thought to be a sickle, she replaced back into the bag.
When she had gotten three Galleons and two Knuts onto the counter, the cashier began to drum her very long finger nails on the wooden counter. There was also huffling and muffling coming from those in line to pay. Apparently they were surprised that someone as young looking as Neoma was dressed in such painfully obvious Muggle style clothing.
Neoma didn't know any of this, and her stress level rose. She mumbled an apology, and began frantically looking for what she needed to pay for her books and get out of here. Why me? She thought to herself.

Neoma couldn't suppress the small girl giggle that escaped her throat as she walked in front of Nicholas into the store. She marveled at the atmosphere that the cozy store provided. It was very wide and large, with books lined all over the place. She bit her lower lip slightly, nervous about getting started, but excited to do so nonetheless.
Her thoughts were broken when a boy in front of her spoke to her "escort." She didn't pay any mind at first, but her thoughts were immediately shattered like a broken mirror at the word: Professor.
Neoma whipped around and look like a dear caught in headlights with an attitude. "Y-your a Professor at Hogwarts?" She said as if blaming him for not telling her he was a figment of her imagination. Something about how she regarded him was now almost broken, as if what she had been hoping for would now surely never come to pass. She couldn't be his friend now, he couldn't be her protector, he's a Professor for Pete's sake.
Neoma sighed, and looked down at her list of books. Wondering for a second... which subject he taught. She then went off to find the books she needed to buy, starting with A Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration.
What is Transfiguration anyways? Neoma thought to herself.

Neoma stood in awe with her arms outstretched in front of her, holding her bag open. An magic bag apparently. So that's what her parents meant, she didn't understand. She looked up to Nicholas, closed her open jaw and grinned. She had a magical bag, how cool!
Neoma suffered another bought of shock and amazement in seeing what the gentleman had on. A sword? A sword! Man this guy was the real deal, like right out of a fairy tale. He had was a wizard with a sword, how cool!
Now that she felt that someone, or something, was smiling upon her, she let her defenses down as she felt protected and comfortable. She looked down to her letter and her eyes darted across it.
"Erm.. well.. I guess Flourish and Blotts is as good a place to start as any." she said, half as a question. She was now beaming.

Neoma couldn't help but grin and stare at her toes as the gentleman's offer. Definitely not a nasty person, or a wizard for that, no doubt about it.
Even so, it looked like the man needed some help. He was carrying around a tower of books, and claimed that he had even more shopping to do. Neoma held back a giggle, it was so amusing when adults were silly. It was then that she remembered her bag;
"Umm, sir? I think I can help you with your... load." She motioned to his books, and then to her bag which was straped across one shoulder. "I'm not sure though. See, my parents gave me this one bag here, and said that it would fit anything and everything. I don't see how that's at all possible but..." she looked up expectantly at the handsome visage.
"Maybe you would understand it better than I?" She wanted to help, especially if that meant he would help show her around in return.

Neoma had temporarily lost herself in the sights and sounds around her, that once again there was a drawn silence between her and the man, that she was responsible for.
"Oh!" She exclaimed. "Neoma, Neoma Tsylence. It's not at all pronounced the way it's spelled..." As if by instinct, she lifted her hand and began raising and dropping some of her fingers in respect to what she was saying.
"My first name is spelt, N-E-O-M-A, but the 'E' is pronounced 'Ay,' and the 'A' is pronounce 'Ah.'" The little girl giggled. "And my last name is--" She had stopped herself abruptly. Her smile vanished, and her eyes widened a little bit before her face scrunched as if she had just eaten a tar flavored Berty Bott's Bean.
What was she doing? How ridiculous of her, this man didn't care about such nonsense. What a time to be eccentric, you idiot, she thought to herself. She brushed her blond hair behind her ear as she kicked herself mentally. She then brought herself back to the present, and remembered the original question.
"Yes, sir, I am here alone. My parents gave me--- uhh... your kind of--- I mean... they gave me some money that... you... would use in these parts. However they couldn't accompany me." She gave a week smile, and subconsciously patted her sweater pocket which jingled with galleons.
