Neoma backed took a step or two back from the man when the books he were holding threatened to topple on top of her. Because of this, she was clear out of the way when they finally did topple over.
This didn't comfort Neoma at all, it appeared that there were nasty people in the wizarding world. Nasty people with magic powers was not the least bit reassuring.
She knelt down, picked up one of the fallen books and handed it back to Nicholas. In response to his question, she instinctively looked down at her letter from Hogwarts. He must of seen it and deducted the obvious.
"Umm... yes sir." She tried to laugh, but it was a very tense laugh. "It's very big, and wonderful. But I'm afraid I may lose my way."
As soon as she said it, she wondered why she had. There was no reason to confide in this gentlemen, for all she knew he was a nasty wizard himself. As soon as she thought this, just as before, she knew she was wrong. Maybe this gentlemen would help her out instead. She may as well admit to him, if no one else, that she needed aid in this new world.

Neoma saw the built gentleman come out of the store, and was immediately taken aback by his ruggedness and height. The man looked like he could squish children like herself under his foot with the greatest of ease. He then approached her, and the closer he got, the more Neoma doubted her first impression.
There was a look of honesty in his face, and someone who would sooner protect a foe than harm a friend. Still, this did little to calm her nerves. So that when he had asked her the time, she didn't react at first.
"Oh!" She realized that the silence between the two of them was entirely her fault. She pulled back her long sleeved shirt to stare at her wrist watch.
"Noon's just gone, Sir." Neoma couldn't help but gulp and clear her throat as she looked back up at the man.

Neoma was torn.
Half of her being wanted to run. Run as fast and as hard as she could away from this place. Away from the robes and the pointed hats and the magic wands enchanted alleyways. She felt like she didn't belong in this place, like there was some kind of mistake. Someone was wrong, oh so very wrong and she was paying the price. Half of her wanted to cry.
The other half, stood transfixed where she stood. eyes open in wonderment as she smiled in a way that only her eyes displayed. She was captivated by the sights around her, and couldn't wait to get her shopping finished. She wanted to know, and experience all that there was to see and hear and feel.
The result of the dichotomy was a girl who was frozen stiff, who felt like her body would rip in two at any moment. Neoma stood with nothing more than a medium sized shoulder-strap bag, and her letter from Hogwarts which was clutched tightly in her hands.
Her parent had to work today, and therefore could not accompany her today. Though they did give her the bag she now carried, and told her to put everything she bought within. Neoma thought this silly, as the bag would surely never hold half the things she needed to get.
Neoma took a deep breath, and willed herself to take a step forward. Her body wouldn't obey. She thought to herself that this was silly, that these people were not going to bite. Nevertheless, she still didn't move a muscle.

Neoma smiled in reply to Stevie's response, she had been joking after all. She didn't have very much to say anymore, it wasn't like the trio would go off and do something drastic. Neoma didn't really feel it was her style anyways, not like the stories she had heard about Harry Potter and his friends back when they were at Hogwarts.
She looked back down to her books, studying and note taking. She glanced to the book that Keladry was holding. She peered over at it, examining it from it's side. She smiled in satisfaction after awhile, sitting back up straight before speaking in a hushed volume again.
"I had heard that there were some books that had been tampered with in the library. That some were missing pages. I wonder, why anyone would do such a thing? The Librarian must not be at all pleased." Neoma seemed to ponder on the subject in her own head, before dismissing the though and returning to taking notes.

Neoma shrugged and shook her head, for she truly did not know. She sighed, as if defeated, and then she chuckled a bit to herself. It was forced, but it was all she could do to feel like she wasn't losing it.
"I guess you don't have any weird things to tell me do you? I'd feel a bit better if I wasn't the only one that had strange thing happen to them." Neoma was of course joking.

"No! Neoma said louder than she had intended. Some of the older students even glared at her. She bowed her head down in some embarrassment, and waited for the eyes to move off of her. She adjusted her volume to return to a normal one that only Stevie and Keladry would hear.
"I mean, she didn't seem that angry that I was out late. She was more furious that she had been caught more than anything. I'm surprised she didn't bite my head off." She rolled her eyes and then went back to taking notes, making it look like she was homeworking.

Neoma looked around her, and came up with the best solution as not to get caught. She ripped off a small piece of parchment from her page of notes. She scribbled some writing on it, and then looked around again. The coast was clear for the moment, so she passed the note to Stevie.
It read;
"Something is very suspicious about Madame Davinmir. I ran into in the wee hours of the night some weeks ago, sending an owl. Don't you find that odd?"

Neoma mentally stomped and kicked and beated up herself for what she'd just done. She was slowly loosing her mind. She took a deep breath before looking back up at Stevie.
"I'm sorry, my mind is just... very much elsewhere." She admitted in a whisper.

Neoma didn't look up at all at first. Was someone talking to her? She blinked and looked around her, and saw the expecting eyes of Stevie, the Gryffindor she had befriended. She wanted to tell him, really she did. But that wouldn't be fair, it was extremely rude to talk about others behind her back, especially in this case. Neoma could get in big trouble, and she'd have no reasonable excuse or defence.
She bit her lower lip gently, before shaking her head, her blond straght hair waving about as she did so. "No, but thank you." She whispered back to Stevie.
It was clear by her word choice and facial expressions that she was lying.

Neoma had to be nudged a third time by one of the supervising professors. It was study time, and all, if not most, of the first year students were studying rigorously. Neoma, sadly, was an unusual exception this time.
No matter what she did, she could not shake the memories from the events about number of weeks ago. Had it been over a month even, already? She couldn't remember, and more so she couldn't stand keeping this to herself.
She had thought about telling a professor, or the Headmistress, about what had happened the other night. However, she didn't think it fair to judge to quickly. Maybe there indeed was an adequate explanation for everything, but a feeling in the pit of her stomach made her sense otherwise.
She stared down at her open text book and sighed. Potions, Transfiguration and Charms, were just not what she wanted to think about right now. With classes starting again soon though, Neoma felt helpless to do otherwise. Some of her friends in her grade were sitting close to her, but she barely even realized they were there anymore. Plus, talking in the Library was punishable by a hard fwap on the back of the head.

Neoma pipped up at being pointed to, which she thought to be rather rude. Nevertheless, she thought that some activity today would be fun. A great chance to make some new friends. She smiled and looked at Liliane.
"Yea, we're in classes together. Would like to get to know you better though." Neoma thought Lil looked friendly enough. She smiled brightly, excited at making a new friend.

Neoma walked in, gleeful as ever. She looked around with her eyes until she spotted Stevie. She waved her arms in the air a bit wildly, before skipping towards her friend.

Neoma could barely contain her giddyness. She was having a lot of fun. The refreshments were great, the music was tasteful, and the whole student body being together like this was just great tons of funs. She bounced in place to the music, looking over to Lilianne.
"Good to see you Lilianne..." she then addressed everybody. "How's everybody doing in their classes?"
She knew that school would probably not be a favored topic to discuss, but Neoma couldn't deny that her studies were on her mind. The mid-terms were only a couple of months away.

Neoma jumped up and down as she was thrilled to see Stevie, in what looked to be quite an impressive costume. She giggled as she made her way over to him. She didn't cheer the first time, but that's 'cause she hadn't notived. When the apparent lead singer of the live band asked the mto cheer again, Neoma let out a scream that was followed by bouncing and giggles. She was having a great time.
She got closer to Stevie, and he retracted a fake arrow from her quiver, poising it in her bow on her fingers. She pointed it at him, with one eye winked shut.
"So Mister cool Ninja, we meet again." neoma stiffled her laughter as she faught not to break character.

A small girl in a rose colored tunic rushed inside. Over her back hung a quiver with one or two fake arrows. She had on a tiny leather mini skirt which matched her top half, and under that she had on a pair of black tights. The female version of robin hood, that's who she was.
She giggled as she entered the Great Hall, thrilled that there was a Halloween feast. She loved the costumes, and currently was standing petrified as she stared up at a rather terrifying looking night. She gulped down a mouthful of pumpkin juice as she stared up at him. Curiously though, she coudln't help but get a sense of familiarity. There was something in the walk...
