Neoma stretched her neck high, looking over at the Slytherin table. They all looked somewhat odd. Some were pompous, others pale, and some were a tad bit overweight. All in all, they all had a degree of nastiness about them. Neoma had the inclination not to judge the whole green dressed house, but it was sort of difficult not to.
"Yea... I guess you are right." As she settled back down into her seat. She yawned audibly, and rested her cheek onto her propped up hand and elbow. Eating always made her tired.

Neoma was stuffed. She couldn't believe how good the food had been. She hadn't paid attention to much of her surroundings, and noticed the girl that she had deliberately sat next to had got up and left. To sit by Stevie no less.
Neoma smiled, as she sat up from her spot and plunked herself in the seat across from Stevie. "The Sorting wasn't so bad." She stated. Then she realized that Stevie had been sorted in a house other than Kel and herself. Maybe he didn't agree with her then... she tried to recover.
"..right?"

Neoma had recognized Nicholas from when she had first entered the hall. As he spoke, she realized that she had not been sorted into his house. That was fine, but then which staff member was her Head of House? Hmmm... a puzzler which she pondered staring at the members seated at the Staff Table.
This was until her favorite Professor said a name that silenced the entire hall like magic. Harry Potter. Neoma felt completely out of place as she had now idea who this apparently famous boy was. She still felt sad that he had died, and by a car accident no less. Neoma grew solemn, but she wasnèt overtly affected because she still had no face, deeds, or persona to associate with the name. Maybe someone will fill her in later.
When the food appeared, all bets were off. These Huffelpuffs knew how to splurge when it came to food. No doubt about it. It didn't bother Neoma so much, but it was amusing watching someone of them stuff their faces.

Neoma giggled as she descended the steps quickly. She moved towards her now cheering house mates, and felt the warm feeling of acceptance. She sat beside another first year, who had been called up long before her. She sat in giddy silence, watching the rest of the ceremony.

Neoma gulped... hard.
The building tension of the ceremony was fast approaching it's climax.. for her at least. There was a definite pattern here. A name was called, then silence, then the hat would speak, there'd be a loud cheer from one of the tables, then repeat. This constant repetition made Neoma more and more nervous. Wringing her hand uncontrollable.
She tore her hands apart and smoothed out her robes as she climbed the stairs to the stool and the hat being held by the man with white hair. Looking at him, wondering why such a young looking mad had such an old and out-of-place feature, she sat down on the stool.
Looking to the ground, she took deep breaths. One after the other.

Neoma may as well have had a welcome mat pinned to her lower lip, for all the flies that could've easily zoomed in an out. The little girl was in complete shock, this room was huge! And all these people, waiting to welcome them. This was so COOL!
She stared up at the ceiling for a good while, completely missing the speech given by the Deputy Headmaster and Headmistress. What did get her attention was the singing... which came from... the hat?! She looked at it wide eyed and almost lost her footing. Noticing that someone else at the staff table had a similar reaction humbled Neoma a little bit. It was comforting to know that it wasn't only eleven year olds who would have their first day at Hogwarts.
Mr. Novim then called up the first group of students. Each time their house was selected, the respective table burst into cheers. The school spirit was building in the room, and Neoma beamed with excitement.
That was when she heard Stevie's name. She looked to him, as he was still standing beside her, and she smiled exuberantly. "Go on." she urged.

Neoma had dreaded this class ever since the Ravenclaw student's... umm... 'bright idea' from last class. She slowly came down the hill to join with the rest of the group of first years that had sorted. Poking her head out of the side of the group, looking at Aesir. Wondering if he had gotten a chance to get his frustrations out since that class. If not, then now would be a good a time as any.
Neoma gulped nervously.

Neoma smiled when the young lad had fallen. Moreso because she couldn't help it than because she thought it was funny. She stopped immediately when told to. She didn't feel the least bit bad abouit the punishment that was handed out to the other lad. He was a Slytherin after all, and it seemed like all students under that banner had a certain mean streak about them.
Neoma saddled her broom like she had been told to. She gulped, hard, and her palms were all sweaty as the grasped the yoke of her broom like she had been shown last class. She inhaled and exhaled deeply, and shoved herself from the ground, keeping her eyes shut tight. Her face contorted in fear and shock.
The pain she expected to feel from crashing back to the ground never came, she cracked open her eyes. She was in the air on her broom, hovering on the spot. She began to laugh uncontrollably, panicking in the way some people do when they get excited. She swallowed again, trying to calm herself down. Taking in deep breaths.

Neoma placed her broom on the ground per Aesir's instruction. She placed her open palm above it. "Up?" She said unsruedly. Nothing happened.
Frustrated, she hit ground hard with her right foot. At the same time saying loudly "Up!" The broom flew up to her hand. She smiled brightly in reaction to her small success.

"Hey there!" Neoma smiled delightfully and her friends, waving as they came close by. She had only spent a short time at Hogwarts but was already thoroughly enjoying herself.
She perked up attentively, getting a broom without any hustling this time. She moved back to where she had been standing and looked to the instructor for... well... further intructions.

Neoma walked briskly outside towards the Quidditch Pitch. It was a beautiful day and Neoma was smiling in appreciation to the good weather. Although not the class she was excelling in most, she certainly did like that Flying took place outside. But then she wondered, what would they do come Winter?
She was still trying to solve the problem in her mind when she arrived at the pitch, where the Instructor already was along with a couple of student. She absentmindedly bit her nails as she continued to ponder.

Neoma gulped for what she thought could've been the third time since the beginnning of the lesson. She 'mounted' her broom, the bristled behind her and her hands held firm on the yoke. Her feet... still touching the ground.
Her instinct told her this was foolish. Science dictated that this was impossible. But after seeing Mr. Macleod perform his little stunt, she somehow doubted that Science had much of a say in the wizarding world.
She sat her rear down. And slowly lifted her feet off of the ground. Cue tuba.
Neoma found herself upside down, with her hair almost touching the ground as the broom remained in the air. She slowly opened her eye lids, looking out to the new angle of the world. Drat! She cursed herself. She sighed, as she unlatched her legs and stood up right again. Try, try again I suppose...

Neoma had no clue how to hold a badminton racket, or a baseball bat. She was never really the sporty type. Because of this fact, the Flyign instructor had to fidget with her hands quite a bit before she got it right. She took a mental picture of what her hands looked like, so that to remember for next time.
She whipped up to look at the INstructor as he posed his question. Take off?! she thought to herself, but I thought we weren't flying today. She subconsciously clutched onto her broom tighter.

Neoma hadn't noticed Kel, she was still too focused on her broom that she had picked out. Quite a pitiful looking thing, all blackened and bland unlike the rest of the brooms. Still, it seemed to stare up at her mockingly. Teasing her to [just try and summon it up.
"Up!" She said with her hand and fingers outstretched before her. Nothing happened. She said it again, still nothing.
Once more, prolonging the first sylable, no change. Instead of getting frustrated, she just stared down at her fingers as she moved them to and fro. Maybe a different approach?
Sehe moved closer to the broom, and positioned her open palm above the stick. "Up!" She said again.
This time the broom twitched a bit, but by now Neoma had had enough, "Oh up alrea--!" Neoma was cut off as the broom launched from the ground right into Neoma awaiting grasp, and kept going. Neoma's legs dangled about two inches fro mthe ground as she held tightly to the broom with one hand.
Almost immediately she fell back to the ground, the surprise causing her to fall to one knee. She stared at the broom in her hand, Fiesty one this one is.

Neoma smiled at the small display of conjuring that the professor demonstrated. That was cool! Summoning a broom like that with no aid. What magic Neoma thought to herself. Maybe this instructor wouldn't be so bad afterall.
When he asked them all to fetch a broom, Neoma didn't expect the reaction that it had. All the students beside her, in back of her, immediately lept and ran and tackled their way to get a broom. Neoma shielded her head as she was passed by a handful of students. When they all finally got by her, she lowered her arms and looked ahead worried there would not be any brooms left.
The crowd dispersed, returning to where that had stood before, and Neoma jogged to fetch the very last broom. She bent down and picked it up, it was a charcoal black color, with straw which looked like it had caught fire but hadn't lost any bristles. Again, as Neoma jogged quickly past the instructor and back to where she had been standing, she got the eerie feeling this would not be her best class.
