"Merry Christmas, Stevie!" Lilianne said. She was sitting on the carpet near the fireplace with her gifts spread out around her. She was currently helping Dinsdale unwrap his tiny little present, a little ball with a bell in it.

As both their daugthers were now at Hogwarts, Lilianne's parents had decided to go on a romantic vacation for the holidays, giving the girls a chance to experiment Hogwart's Holiday time.
Lilianne wasn't so warm to the idea of spending her first christmas without her parents, but she was willing to give it a chance. She wanted her parents to enjoy some time on their own, after all.
She woke up alone in the first year girl's dormitory, to see a pile of gifts at the foot of her bed. She decided to take them and unwrap them in the common room, so that she'd hopefully have some company.
She was to meet up with her sister for breakfast in an hour. Isabelle had promised her they would have lots of fun together on this day.

Lilianne finishes up her letter, rolls up the parchment and puts her quill and ink away. Dinsdale back in her hood, she hops off her chair. "All ready!"

"That would be very nice of you, thank you. I'll only be a second..." She says, smiling as she turns back to her letter to hurridly scribble the final salutations.

"Mind your hands..." Lilianne warned as Dinsdale climbed up to Stevie's shoulder so he could sniff his face.
"Hum, hey, I was just finishing this letters to my parents... Do you mind waiting a bit before you go to the owlery, so I can go with? I don't know where it is."
"Ahh, that is, if you were planning to show him, miss Wood..." Lilianne added tentatively, looking up at Wood...

"Oh! Go ahead, be my guest!" Lilianne giggles as Floyd gleefully climbs up to her shoulder.
Dinsdale looked up and let out a little squeal.
"Aw, don't be jealous, Din, why don't you go meet him? Don't worry, I wouldn't trade you for all the gold in Gringotts."
The hedgehog turned to Stevie and approached him carefully.
"You seem to love animals a lot, too. I've noticed in Care of Magical Creatures... I'm Lilianne Wesker."

"Oh, Hi there!" Lilianne presented her hand to Floyd, who sniffed her hand before allowing her to scratch his head. "You're a nice little fellow! Want to meet Dinsdale? Hey Din, come on out!" She said in her solt, shy voice.
Lilianne's hedgehog poked his head out of the hood of her cloak hanging on her back and climbed up on her shoulder, then down along her arm to the table where he trottled to check out Floyd.

Lilianne was sitting at a nearby table, busy writting a letter to her parents herself.
So far she had stayed rather quiet in the common room since term had started, reading her classbooks or playing with her hedgehog by the fireplace on her own, though tonight she did look up longingly to the group of laughing students by the window a couple of times.
When she heard Stevie and Wood talking, she took her nose off her paper and spoke up in a low voice.
"Well we're only allowed one pet, right? And he's got that cute Prairie Dog... There's school owls we can borrow, right? My sister said she used those to send us letters..."
Lilianne's voice trailed off at the end of her phrase. She looked as if the words had come out of her mouth on their own, and she felt ashamed of having interrupted a prefect.
She blushed slightly and bowed her head over her letter again, her messy hair hiding part of her face.

"Okay... I'll do my best, Sir..."
... even if that doesn't count for much...
She moved to his side as they exited the office. Facing the dark corridors of the school, Lilianne couldn't help but to soon reach for Nicholas' hand as she nervously looked around.
As much as she didn't want to be a burden, she was still terrified and it was all she could do to walk forward.

"No, no, Sir... I was just waiting for you to tell me where to put myself, honestly, to walk in front or behind you... I don't want to get in your way if something else happens... I've caused enough pain for tonight.", she said in a very dispirited voice.
Lilianne's mood was definately matching her messy appearance...
He should be taking care of his family, and he's stuck dragging me around...

Lilianne jumped slightly. She'd been gaping dumbly at Nicholas for a while now.
She had always felt dwarfed by the knight's natural aura that inspired awe and respect. But now that he was geared up, as if ready to take on an army of Dark Lords on his own, she felt positively microscopic in comparison.
"Yes, Sir..."
She made to follow him, looking up at him for instructions.

"Hum, okay..." Lilianne said before doing as told.
She then went back to busying herself with the falcon. She had always found a certain relief in caring for animals.

"Maybe you're right, Sir... But it still doesn't feel right to be away from her..."
Lilianne went wide eyed as she watched Nicholas gear up. In other times she would have been pretty excited, but as it were, she just felt really out of place.
She was sick of being a burden.
She left the falcon to oblige when Nicholas asked for the parchment and quill, looking a bit puzzled.

"Oh... right... I understand..."
Lilianne glanced around her as a nervous reflex, realizing the Knight might be right about the trouble not being over. She patted her chest to make sure her wand was still in it's pocket.
As if it'd be of any use...
Lilianne stroke the bird with one finger as she waited for Nicholas to finish gearing up.
Her mind kept wandering back to her sister and Dr Lannsman's gruesome injuries. She fought to push the thoughs as far as she could.

Lilianne shut the door as asked, then she turned back to look at the professor.
"Wh... What are you doing, Sir? I though we'd be going back to the common room to see your children...", she asked in her weak voice, as she shyly approached Gwydion.
